I’ve had the most insane descriptors thrown at me. My favorite was when someone asked for me to make their vocals more dry, so I eventually stripped it to the raw track for him and he was like “no, I’m talking about how it sounds in a *big open dry room”* meaning he wanted really WET reverb lmao

In metal, there’s often a moment where guitar players will be like “idk something just isn’t sounding right 🤔” only for them to realize the reason why they sound truly heavy was because of their bass player.
Bassist or not he's right. Metal without bass sounds really thin. Take a listen to and justice for all, and listen to covers of the album with actual bass tracks. In metal, when bass plays the same stuff you dont notice it, but you feel it. And the moment the bassist stops playing or screws something up, youll know.@@idk9637

I really like the sound of an acoustic with old strings on it, that are really heavy gauge but still have a weirdly loose feel to them and sound like how I imagine wood sounding

Sploogy is great for almost anthing, but scrunky just hits different
SCRONGLY!!!!
Skrunkly clean is my favorite tone
Clean channel, lightly scooped mids, single coil neck pup, a pick or fingernail using a soft attack
I personally prefer scraggly, but a good scrunky tone can be great
What does scrunky sound like?
SCANGILY
It's hilarious how stuff like "Make it spankgly and shimmery with a bit of skringle on top" makes perfect sense to guitarists
I think that means "High attack, treble heavy with some scooped mids, and reverb only on the treble channel" but I could be wrong

My favorite is "Make it sound wet"
Translation:
Earthy, dry: cut mids
Round bottom end: boost bass
Etheral feel: reverb
The etherial also feels like a bit of flanger

“Woeeep woeeep woeeep woeeep woeeep woeeep~”
