You said dont spend speedups on full speed ahead event, but you can get 10k gold from it, for f2p its a good help i think. Plus extra 8 royal badges never hurts lol ♡
Actually, they designed it in a way that you have to reach 40000 points in order to get 10k gold and 8 badges. 40000 points mean that you will have to spend 650+ 1 hr speedups to get 10k gold. It will damage your performance in shop. :) but sometimes, it give good rewards with luck lol overall, I don't recommend it for nonspenders

I got 170 royal badges because i spent speedups on the frozen crystals event but that was luck of course , it won’t happen for everyone
