Avanti Palms Resort + Room tour | I Drive | Has it changed 1 year on? | Would we stay again? Dec 22

  • Hello and welcome to a new video.
    As you know we stayed at Avanti Palms on International Drive for the 2nd time - 1st time December 21 and then again December 22 so I thought I would do you a Resort tour.
    Avanti gets some pretty bad reviews online but I really don’t know why. You will find most of these bad reviews are based on other guests rather than the hotel itself so watch the video and make up your own mind.
    Any questions at all just ask. Xxx

    We booked here for October 2024 because of a bargain with BA. £641pp for 10 nights. I looked at the reviews before booking and was slightly worried but after watching this, I do feel a bit more reassured! We usually stay in Rosen Inn at Lake Buena Vista. Have watched all your Florida vlogs and i'm looking forward to the next series! Thanks for the great vid :)

    It looks a decent hotel for budget pricing to me. I’ve stayed in smaller rooms. Every hotel has maintenance issues, it’s how they deal with them that really matters.

    We stayed there for 1 week in 2019 and the place was great tbh, we stayed in the upper floor to the right of the pool and the rooms and cleanliness was the only real let down, reception/bar/pool was all great for the price, it was the little things that took the shine off it a bit, weed from next door flowing into the room at nights so we soaked some towels and blocked the internal doors, the bathroom had slight issues that was only addressed after a small complaint, but the final straw for my wife was finding the bugs on the head board last but one night, and then finding loads more which resulted in a room change so it was mixed week which we very much enjoyed but had moments of this could be a gem of a hotel, idrive can be a bit less attractive in this area, had a small issue with a homeless chap, but it was a decent price and fab around the pool in the evenings, just needs to improve on those frequent negative reviews….🙏🏽🇺🇸🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

      Sorry to hear you didn’t have a great experience. I agree the hotel is great but the rooms let it down however this is the only budget hotel I’ve stayed in in the US so I have no other rooms to compare too. I have to say ours were clean so no issues with bugs etc. As for weed that seems to be the local scent for the whole of idrive 🫣.
      I would definitely stay again. I have a different budget hotel booked for a few nights later this year but I am considering changing it to Avanti because we liked it. We’ll see. Xx

      @@theburgesses2004 it’s ok thanks, we did have a great week though, it was only supposed to be a week around the pool no parks, but we did end up doing mickeys not so scary, and that was a cracking event to do, we’ve just switched from the avanti near the icon to the Rosen centre instead, we have our next break booked for the Rosen centre first week, then endless summer Surfside the second week, and did have the avanti in the first week but after reliving past memories and checking with reviews 6 months later the same narrative keeps popping up with avanti cleanliness, service, maintenance etc, in the past we have done the Rosen plaza, and done cabanabay, done the avanti, Hilton palace, those types of places, but surprisingly the first time we ever came over we stayed in the holiday inn on the 535, location wise it was a bit of a mistake for us being so green with young children and no transport, and not aware or the area, but the hotel was fabulous, from the service to the room size and cleanliness was faultless for us at the time.. there is a few gems in around the idrive area, and hope your next visit is another great one for you all.we enjoy your content, we have a list of types of hotels we can afford and another we can’t but could at a push, and a list we can but wouldn’t have them at first choice, and we work backwards from spending money, parks tickets, transportation/estas/hidden costs, then we look at hotel/flights cost, so it comes last for us not first, we have taken a lot from your daily cost strategies also thankyou.
      We Look forward to the next vids.

      @@wesdavies2455 I don’t blame you for changing. At the end of the day no matter the price you pay you expect your accommodation to be clean and when you’ve had an experience when it hasn’t been it’s always going to put you off.
      Love you have a plan when it comes to these trips. I work the other way round. Flights first and decide car or no car. Where do we want to stay and where do we want to visit. I book everything with deposits when the price can and will change then as we get closer as long as we have saved up enough and can afford to do then I think about park tickets and how far we can stretch spending money.
      We just love being in Florida so if we can only afford 1 of the 14 day tickets then that’s fine as so much else to see and do.
      Looking forward to the next trip and hope you have a fab time on your upcoming trip too 😃

    I normally go 2 the rosen inn but had 2 get moved rooms as a few "Familys" was treating it like it was a mini Benidorm but got the rosen in down near Uni before dockside its decent priced and reviews saying its more for adults than familys so might be somthing to look at yourself as you know ur hardly in the rooms !

      @theburgesses2004  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It usually comes down to other guests which tend to cause most complaints. There’s a Rosin Inn next door to Avanti towards Dockside. Is that the same one you stayed at?

    Great review ! I’m flying out from the UK in a couple days and I am so nervous about coming since reading the reviews 🥲 I was wondering was yours a standard or deluxe room? I booked a standard and I’m nervous about the joined rooms with people just a door away that can walk in whenever ?? Any reply would be massively appreciated

    • @theburgesses2004
      @theburgesses2004  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah that’s so exciting. I think ours was sold as a deluxe but I don’t think there’s any difference. Don’t worry about the adjoining room. You can lock it from your side as can the others in the other room. The only thing I can say about an adjoining room (which will be the same in any hotel) is you may hear noise from the room next door. We’ve had plenty over the years though and it’s been fine. Xx

    Hi!
    TUI offer a "Grab n go" breakfast with the hotel rather than advertising this as B&B. Do you know what this consists of? Also TUI don't mention a resort fee, am i to assume this is paid as part of the package?
    Thanks in advance, great video!

    • @theburgesses2004
      @theburgesses2004  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m sorry I just saw your message. Sorry I’m not familiar with Florida holidays with Tui to really comment. I noticed on Ba holidays that some hotels said resort fee included but others didn’t. I would take that to mean I would have to pay a resort fee on those. Avanti being one of them. Grab and go usually means something like a croissant/pastry and maybe a drink but I didn’t see any information at the hotel about it to say for sure X

    • @theburgesses2004
      @theburgesses2004  ปีที่แล้ว

      In all honesty we felt no less safe than any other hotel we’ve stayed in. You had to have a key to get into the pool area and a key to get into the room building.
      For example when we stayed at Disney anyone could walk right in all areas. A lot of the comments I’ve seen are about the tower rooms but I can’t comment about them as haven’t stayed over that side. X
