Thanks for the very honest review Don and Heather! I’ve thought about checking our New Orleans many times when we go on the junket but I’ve been very concerned about the crime and murder rate in NO. I know there are a lot of cities with crime, but not willing to risk it without knowing where to go and not go. You guys are my vloggers. Keep up the great work and stay well!
Great video! I appreciate how you guys were honest but also stayed respectful and acknowledged the lens through which you were experiencing the city. It's important to have more people like you in this world - there'd be a lot more understanding regarding cultural differences!
That's right. Live and let live. My opinion is just that. An opinion. It's not right or wrong. Everyone can have different options yet still get along. I'm not mad at anyone who enjoys New Orleans. I'll just stick to Beau Rivage. Thanks.
New Orleans I've always wanted to go but we are not partiers either. Glad for the honest review. My husband and I love your video's. Keep up honest reviews. So many other videos' we watch and question.
Thanks for sharing, guys! I want to say Willie Mae’s was on the Travel channel at one point as a go-to destination so was looking forward to your review. However, I completely understand the OCD thing and we would have probably left as well. We’ve definitely talked about going to Louisiana to visit the casinos there since its not that bad of a drive from San Antone, but cost wise it’s cheaper to jump on a plane (2.5 hour flight) and head to Vegas. Appreciate you sharing your true thoughts! Keep making it happen!
Wow this episode had it all. $198 all-in! Appreciate the honest and well intentioned review. Sometimes you just don't click with a place and like you say, that's how you see it, others may fall in love with it, but it's not for you and move on. And good call with the chicken 😅
Agreed. I never want to be negative, so it's a fine line between negative and honest. Like you say, I'll bet some people love New Orleans. It's just not for us. Thanks for the comment.
Don, we had the same experience. We drove to New Orleans during our trip to Biloxi just to see it and say we’d been there. I was horrified driving on the Lake Pontchartrain bridge then on to Bourbon Street which smelled like urine, puke and stale beer. Everything was so dirty. I bought a tee shirt and we turned around and went back to Biloxi. I’m glad you are so honest in your videos.
You can only be honest and describe your experience. You lasted longer than I would have, especially with the Beau being such a nice place, heading back there was a smart move. Really love your videos, you both seem like great people. Thank you.
Just found your channel and have been binge watching all your videos all night! Lol 😂Love the vlogs - you both are so fun to watch! I'm totally there with you guys about not wanting to be in the middle of crowds, and I 100% wouldn't have eaten at that restaurant if the restroom was disgusting. One of the key things my friends who work in the restaurant industry always tell me is that if a restaurant bathroom isn't clean, don't eat there. Anyways, looking forward to more videos from you guys!
We visited Biloxi with plans to drive to NOLa My gut told me not to waste the money and now I’m glad I didn’t. Thank you for your honest opinion. I had heard horror stories but wasn’t sure what to believe but seeing your drive thru confirmed all. Always listen to the but! LOL
That's right, Debbie. The gut is more knowledgeable than the head sometimes. Pictures and videos show beautiful historic scenes. When you get there, you get busted up streets, lots of orange construction comes, and graffiti spray painted on everything. You have a very sound gut.
We just booked this rewards trip for July. Great reviews. I probably wouldn’t have gone to Nola but definitely won’t now. We’re not party people either.

I like the Beau Rivage. We go about 3-4 times per year for $50 ea all-in price, and that includes $100 in free play, so if you value the free play at 50%, it ends up just $25 ea. (from DFW for 4 nights, all transfers included, etc.) The gambling is not great (higher table game limits and the slots seem to be a little tighter than Vegas - they are more like the Oklahoma casinos in my opinion) The seafood place just 2 doors down (just past the Hardrock) is a great value. We live in La about 70 miles from New Orleans. We would not step foot in New Orleans. It's riddled with crime and thugs. Ghetto. I advise people do not go there.
You saved yourself a lot of money by avoiding Harrah's Casino and you are fortunate that you came out with your lives. I know New Orleans...I drive 80 mph (like a bat out of hell) when going through there, just to get through it.
I am from the South, have been to New Orleans several times and certain parts of New Orleans are awful! 😳🙄☹️ Bourbon Street can be nasty, stinky, seedy and is not my favorite place to be, but there are so many other good things in New Orleans that you missed! Next time drive through the Garden District. The houses are lovely and the trees are gorgeous! You also need to go to Central Grocery where the muffaleta sandwich was invented and they still serve them! And how did you miss Cafe DuMonde, which is known for their beignets and cafe aulait? Also, if you love oysters you can’t beat Acme Oyster House in the French Quarter. You won’t be disappointed. Hope you get the chance to give New Orleans another try. By the way, you can’t beat the Beau Rivage! It’s by far the nicest casino in Biloxi❤️
Hey Jackie. Thanks for the comment. I would like to petition to have the spelling of Biloxi changed to Biluxi. Haha. We love the Beignets at the Beau Rivage coffee shop. Will have to give NOLA another shot.
My wife and I spent 3 wonderful nights in the “JUNIOR SUITE KING “ at the Beau Rivage, my daughter stayed in the “DELUXE KING ROOM” while my brother-in-law and his wife stayed in the Cypress Suite. BR Prime & Stalla were outstanding fine dining experiences while “The Buffet at Beau Rivage” was just average, but for only $15 it was worth it. My brother-in-law and I are both MGM Platinum Card Holders and enjoyed the VIP Experiences during our stay. Wednesday night all ate at “Mary Mahoney’s Old French House” where Bobby made his routine appearance making the rounds at the tables, he's a “hoot” and a real American Icon. None of us were disappointed with Mary Mahoney's and plan to dine there again next year during Mardi Gras Biloxi MS, staying at the Beau, of course. I told at least 3 Black Jack Dealers, Waitresses, and other people staying at the Beau that I planned on visiting New Orleans just for one day and night, all but one “cringed” and said don't go out at night, not a very good first impression. Thursday morning me and my little family all checked out of the Beau around 9:15 AM and then made the drive towards NO along the coast on 90 arriving at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans before noon. The Hyatt Regency New Orleans is not the Beau, but it was a 5 Star Hotel with a “Hop On, Hop Off” stop, stop number 9 on the Tour. The Breakfast Buffet ($25) was much better than the Beau's (just one man's opinion) and they even bring your Omelet to your table. We all jumped on the “Hop On, Hop Off” Tour Bus venturing thru downtown NO. The Garden District was a stop I really thought about hopping off to eat at “Joey K's” but the “wife” wanted to see the French Quarter. We hopped off at stop 3 and then walked towards Decatur St thru the neighborhood trash reviewing some of the Restaurants on our way towards the French Market. None of the Restaurants looked clean enough to eat in, they were very dark inside, and they smelt really bad. We were about to give up and catch the next Tour Bus at stop 1 near Jackson Square back to the Hyatt. In fact, most of the streets were dirty, overcrowded with tourists, and of course some homeless people. I actually saw two bums fighting with each other. While waiting for the Tour Bus to arrive I decided to try to find some chocolate to eat. I did, but inside the Mall, there was “Gumbo Ya Ya”, yahoo, finally a nice clean place to sit down with my family to eat, so, we did. The food was very good, but pricey, almost as much as Mary Mahoney's but without the charm and Bobby. After lunch/dinner we hopped on for the rest of our tour where the last tour guide told horror stories of Bourbon Street at night, and to “beware”. The bottom line is New Orleans was not for me and I have no plans to visit the place again, but next year I'm back at the Beau for Mardi Gras to see the Parade.
Sounds like you had a great trip. We enjoy everything the Beau has to offer. The people are all so nice. The restaurants are all amazing. We agree with your take on NO. Don't have to go back there again. Lol. Thanks for all your comments. We are at the Aria in Las Vegas as I type this. Off to Carbone for dinner. Thanks again for watching our videos.

I’ve been in many large cities, NOLA was by far the scariest , I totally understand
It just wasn't our thing I guess. Thanks for watching and sending the comment.
Apparently you didnt see homeless in Biloxi either ? Lmao
No. Haven't seen any homeless people at The Beau Rivage.
Awwww man 😂😂😂😂 New Orleans is a wild place! Lol you have to be mentally prepared for it lol. I love to party but even I get tired of New Orleans when Im there and ready to go back to Baton Rouge. New Orleans is really overrated though.
Thanks for the comment. It was different. That's for sure. I'm sure there are fun things to do there
Nola stepped in horse crap and pizza in the same night
Priceless.
I also have no interest in New Orleans when I visit Biloxi. I t seems dirty and rundown
Its becuse its day time new orleans is a night time city
Maybe I should give it a 2nd chance.
