- Today, at last, we visit our home canal, the beautiful Grand Western Canal in Tiverton, Devon. It's still mind-boggling how we lived only an hour away in Ilfracombe and never visited here before. But we're so glad we did because what a stunning canal it is, especially in our Dinghy with the silent electric motor. Instead of starting at the busy terminal of the Grand Western Canal in Tiverton, we start at Manley bridge and head East towards Halberton, cruising about 3 miles along absolutely stunning Devonshire landscapes. We can't wait to return to this canal to cruise the final 8 miles.

I know this doesn’t pay the bills, but your channel is absolutely wonderful, and it is clear Josh works very hard on it! The dinghy series is incredibly interesting, amusing, entertaining and informative, and really enriched my life last year, as did Josh and Diane’s walks down the Montgomery and encountering the drama group in the field. Keep up the good work! I also really enjoyed Andrew’s cooking bits, and anything Diane does is the best. So glad you found your car. You’re lovely people, God bless.
Thank you, Sharonda, that's very kind of you 😊 more dinghy adventures to come, in fact one very soon, when we take the dinghy on the isolated section of the montgomery canal. I'm glad you're enjoying the channel 😊👍
Know the Taunton to Bridgewater stretch of canal quite well from when I used to live nr Wellington, Somerset as I spent many Summer days either kayaking, cycling or walking along it. Nice to see a 'local to me' canal featured on your channel.
Glad you enjoyed it Chris. The funny thing is we were only an hour away and have never visited it. Always too busy working I suppose 😒 xxx
That was brilliant, what a beautiful canal.
Glad you had a couple of nice days with Amy too.
Loved the swans. Hope you got back ok. 😊
We had a wonderful time with Amy. We haven't seen her for a year so it was lovely seeing her.
Great video getting better all the time....Down to earth people thanks
Glad you enjoyed it thanks 😊
its Beautiful Thank You
Glad you enjoyed it Phil xx
what a Beautiful part of the UK.
Thanks. Devon is a beautiful place. Even though we lived there for 22 years there was many places we never visited as we were always working and this was one of them.
What a lovely canal. You all looked like you were having fun there. Hope you all had a safe journey back to Olive.
We got back to Olive safely thanks and I think next time we go down to Ilfracombe we might do the other end of this canal. Can't wait as this was lovely.
WoW, that canal is lovely and way tidier than the K&A! Beautiful canal and great vlog,,😊
Thanks Chris. We can't believe we lived only an hour away when we lived in Devon for 22 years and never visited there.
Josh thanks for the music
No problem we are glad you like it Kat xx
good vid
Thanks Lee glad you enjoyed it.
Looks like you had more fun than the trip boat .Maybe the horse bolted .l was going to ask if you need an audible means of approach on the dingy and the you spoke to the paddle boarder .The Taylors definitely reach the parts that other channels don’t 😊
I think I am the audible means lol 😆. I can be very loud when I want to be. This was amazing we had to pull over for the trip boat to go by this made my day. Loved this canal.
GG says woof to your fur babies
Meow meow back to GG
this is our home canal as well, we cycle it a couple of times a week and have also had a go on the canoes
That's fantastic we can't believe in 22 years living in Devon that we never have been here. It's funny because about 6 years ago we went to Tiverton and had a ride in a hot air balloon that was an amazing experience.
Your mums got some good pins! Thats coming from a gay man here! You go girl! ❤Also good to see you planted some Marigolds from my last comment back in spring 😊
Thanks for that compliment. I appreciate that. The marigolds have been fantastic lasted so long. This is Andys little garden I let him have as I don't like much put on the roof. He is going to put different flowers in next year. Let's hope you are still watching us and will like them.
WHAT WAS THE PURPOSE OF GOING IN THE DINGHY....WAS IT JUST TO SEE THE CANAL....
Yes we can't take Olive here as its not joined to the canal network.
How much is a Day Licence?
It was £10 for the day, our electric motor is technically an engine so you can get it for £5 if you're craft is unpowered.
Great vlog apart from the poor audio at the beginning
We sorted that out in the end. We had a wonderful time.
