Hello, we just watched this video and really enjoyed it - Thankyou. We are going in the cruise in July and we’re wi seeing when this video was filmed as we are wondering weather wise what type of clothing we need. We are coming from small city of Perth Western Australia. Hope you can help! Cheers
Thank you so much for watching. I love when my videos can help travelers. Temps in Alaska in July can be as high as 21, so it will be quite pleasant. I would pack breathable athletic wear that is comfortable and can be put on as layers. Plus, a rain jacket and hat in case of rainy days. The ship should provide boots. Happy adventures!
Awww! Thanks so much for watching and for your comments. We were stunned by the beautiful passage as we sailed through B.C. and want to return to explore Vancouver Island and more.
Thank you for the excellent video. We enjoyed both your videography and story telling presentation. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we booked this cruise for August-2023! Thanks again!
Thanks for the show. I will be on that same ship this June 8. Sitka to Vancouver. Best Cruze to date “ Blount river Cruze Quebec to Lake Erie to Erie Canal to Hudson River to New York and all the history in between. This next one should be great.
Wow, we Passed you in Petersburg!! We were on Uncruise Wilderness Discoverer, that was in this video, we were on deck trying to figure out what your ship was. Which did you like better, American Queen or Uncruise for Alaska? especially for kayaking, how did they launch? We love watching your videos, they show us things that we didn't know existed.
That's so awesome! I was excited to see your ship. It's the first one I sailed on with UnCruise. They are my absolute favorite. It's the best for active adventures. The hikes and bushwhacking and kayaking is much more intense. AQV is fantastic for people who choose a little slower pace -- or light expedition. Thanks for watching and for your kind comments!
Great Review! We are booked for Sept 2023. What time of year did you sail? What key items would you pack for this type of sail? Your packing list video for Antartica was helpful.
Our voyage was the second week of September 2022. Thanks for watching. You'll have a wonderful time! Here is a packing guide for Alaska I created on a prior expedition. Cheers. th-cam.com/video/-YTz5IjvL_Y/w-d-xo.html
We are going on this cruise next week, Sitka to Vancouver. They recommend Country club casual for dinner. Do people really dress nicer for dinner, never saw dinner videos in the main restaurant to see what people were wearing in the evening.
Have a great time! This is a fun ship to be on for Alaska. It was not dressy at all. Not even country club casual for most. Really great crowd of cruisers on my sailing. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for great video. Wife and I want to take the family, all adults, on an Alaskan Cruise to celebrate retirement. This will be first Alaskan Cruise. How does this compare with more traditional cruise, or Uncruise. Really like theidea of smaller ships. Don’t want to take a resort to Alaska. Definitely will check out your other videos.
Thanks for watching. It's a light adventure or expedition experience. UnCruise is a good choice if you want a nice bit of challenging activities every day. This is more relaxing and luxurious. UnCruise is more thrilling overall but in more rustic ship surroundings.
Hello, I've been following your channel, and I love it. I have wanted to take my kids (both 10 years old) to Alaska to see the wildlife for a while now, but am concerned about the thousands of passengers on board a large ocean vessel due to covid. Therefore, I am looking for an Alaskan cruise with less passengers. However, I have two concerns and would like your input, since you have already been on this Ocean Victory cruise. (1) My daughter may have some mild seasickness, as she had been on Princess cruises before and was slightly dizzy when the ship rocked slightly. Has your Ocean Victory cruise been very rocky and which month did you sail? (2) My mother is mobility impaired and is dependent on a rollator/walker. She needs to be pushed around on a wheelchair mostly, but can walk very, very slowly on her own, pushing her rollator/walker. Will someone like my mother have a difficult time on this cruise? Is this ship ADA accessible (elevators, ramps, etc)? Thank you so much for your thoughts!
Hi there! Thanks so much for watching and the kind comments. I love to do these videos to show people what to expect. For crowd size and stability, this is an ideal ship for Alaska. It was quite calm with minimal rocking as is often the case on cruises in SE Alaska. The ship offers elevators to all levels but the issue for your mom might be the thresholds that have a very high lip between some sections of the ship. These can't be navigated by a wheelchair. Happy cruising. I hope you find something that works!
@@InTheLoopTravel Thank you for your input. That really helps, hearing from a passenger who has been on the actual cruise ship before. Sometimes, when I call customer service, I get someone who has never been on the ship but is just reviewing the brochure information in front of him/her.
Hi there. Thanks for watching. Kids would have to enjoy being around adults and not any other kids. If they are curious about science, history and learning about Alaskan culture and like to go kayaking, they might have fun. Otherwise, there isn't much happening on the ship for activities. The cruises do get some more kids and families sailing in summer. Happy travels!

When you saw the mama bear and her cubs was that a premium excursion? How many premium excursions did you do and what did they cost?
That was a regular included tour for the day. Thanks for watching. Happy cruising.

@@stevesafety6743 not yet. I would love to. Have heard nice things.
@@InTheLoopTravel so if you had to choose a small boat cruise, What/who would you choose?
@@stevesafety6743 UnCruise is my favorite. They do amazing expeditions in Alaska.
I may of missed it although what time of year was this cruise?
Thanks for watching. This was in early September.
