It’s so wise for you to be decluttering right now. I have five sons, and sold my house twice when they were young so I understand your concern about keeping the house clean for showings. In my experience the best way to minimize your stress is to rent a small storage unit and pack up 90% of their toys leaving only the ones they truly play with. I’d also recommend that you pack up any toys that have a lot of little pieces. The secret is to be able to pick up within minutes. You’d be surprised by how happy your kids can be with just a few toys. I’d also pack up your winter clothing and any kitchen small appliances that you just don’t use every day. It will make it so much easier to keep clean but also to decrease the stress of showing. I am positive. By removing everything that you don’t use on a daily basis, your house will show better. I’m certain your realtor will tell you that people have a hard time looking past what they see as clutter.
I was a Coast Guard wife for 12 years wayyyy back in the mid 80’s. Your story is accurate. 💜 I watched a good friend of mine that was active duty CG just eat herself alive when she attempted but could NOT save an accident victim. It was heart wrenching. Yes, be thankful of our men and women that are serving.
I watch you every week and very much enjoy your motivation talks. This week hit home particularly well. I am having cancer surgery tomorrow and because of your story you told and talked about my motto for this time in my life is swim Denise swim❤❤
Hey Friend, Happy Sunday/Easter. Spring time is the perfect time to declutter everything and do some deep cleaning in your house. I can understand why you want to go through everything now and not wait until you move. ❤ I agree hard times do build strong people and I believe that god wouldn’t put an obstacle in our way if he knew we couldn’t overcome it. ❤I want to take the clutter bug quiz to see what kind I am. ❤🥰
Thanks for sharing, being so positive.❤😊. Decluttering before moving is the best idea. Please declutter again before you move. I personally did not get rid of enough junk!
You’re smart to start decluttering now before you move! I wish I had done that before we moved… it would have lessened the load of moving so much and saved me time unpacking.
I live in Southeast Ga. We definitely have a heavy accent and say y’all. If someone comes along and say you guys. Then we definitely know they are from up North. Not many people in the south say you guys lol. My brother who was born and raise in Pensacola, FL always picked on me as a kids bc I I pronounced water as “worker” lol so now I make sure I say water.
I’m from Ohio. And had cousins that lived in Texas. I don’t remember them saying y’all. Now I live in Georgia and hear it all the time. I think my granddaughter who lives in Ohio says it too. When my daughters were young. We had a playroom. They slept in the same bed in the bedroom. And I could just close the door if the playroom was a mess. And take care of it later. When we moved five years ago. It was terrible. We had been in our house for twenty three years. My husband started in the attic. I had clothes that would never fit me again. My daughters did too. And they had a lot of toys up there. My youngest daughter is like her dad. They never throw anything away. Now my granddaughter is like that too. And now she has a son. I hope takes after his dad. My youngest daughter calls us hoarders. But I know she probably hasn’t gotten rid of one toy she had as a kid. My oldest daughter has a bunch of kids. And she throws away everything. I’m starting to be like that. I have two totes of pictures. And that’s really the only thing I don’t want anything to happen to. Of course, my family. Don’t let that worry you. We had a lock box on our first house. And the realtor was supposed to get a hold of one of us before they went through the house. I came home one day after work and found a realtor’s card. My house was a mess. I had a pile of laundry to be folded on my kitchen table. I was so mad. I went and took the lock box off the door. And it didn’t go back on. We sold our house on the first open house we had. Then we had to go find something. And we bought from military and sold to military. And the military does things when they want to. We did get to move and lived in that house for twenty three years. Then when we sold our last house we sold to a realtor. It was a lot easier. And we moved from Ohio to Georgia. And I love it here.
Michelle - I think decluttering before is a smart move, no need to pack and move things that you'll be getting rid of...This way you also know what you have and can think of better solutions that will fit the new house..TY for the motivation and tips - they have definitely helped me a lot!! My family is from the South so we were raised saying yall, suga, baby, etc...
Amazon bean bag stuffed animal cover on Amazon. Another TH-camr got one and it’s been a game changer for us! They don’t have to get rid of them but if they want them they can take out of the bean bag otherwise they make a nice cushioned seat! It’s a win win and they’re HUGE and fit so many!
We had to get rid of 80% of our things last summer in preperation of moving to Alaska. It was so rough! We pulled together all our donation stubs for filing taxes, and the stubs totaled over $16,000! We also sold the more expensive items. Thankfully our house sold in one day, with 7 offers, but then on top of that our closing was only 2 weeks. So then we were homeless with everything in storage and 2 small kids 😂 It was definitely one of the most stressful times of my life, but I'm so grateful we got rid of all that extra stuff we didn't need!
OMGSH, girlfriend I don't think that you have any accent. As I have mentioned before, I absolutely love listening to you. Your voice is so comforting and not at all annoying in any way. You're an excellent speaker, very intelligent and kind. I'm so happy and excited for you and your family on your new house. I can't wait to see all of your videos. Love you! XOXO'S
Looking great. I am born and raised in Louisiana so I say y'all. I love being from the south. Women from the south are considered more polite and friendly. Be proud being from the south. Can't wait to see the new build.
Lol as I was watching you clean the playroom I noticed the railing and all I could think about is how often do toys get tossed or fall through into the living space below. Thanks for a good fose of positivity! I hope I'm a swimmer, I'd like to think I am. I'll have to do some soul searching to know for certain. Anyway Happy Easter
Hi. I also live in Texas and I say “y’all” all the time. At work I have to make an effort not to especially when sending emails. lol I love your channel and inspirational videos. Really enjoy the decluttering tips!
I'm getting ready also to move... My boyfriend lost his home in a Wildfire , we live in Northern California . His New home will be finished being built this Fall and I'm getting ready to move in with him. I've lived in my home for 13 yrs and I'm so overwhelmed and excited at the same time... Soooo I do appreciate your video's for Decluttering is what I'll be doing ~
Super motivating video! As for the accent thing, I had never seen your videos before, and I detected a bit of a southern or Texan accent, whatever you want to call it. "Y'all" is so widely used now, I don't necessarily use that as a marker for whether someone is from a certain place or not. Your manner of speaking reminds me of a former coworker who I asked, "Did you grow up in Texas and then move here [Michigan] when you were little?" She replied, "How did you know!?" There is that tiny little twinge of an accent and I love it. Technically we all have an accent. My Michigan/Midwestern accent means that the word "accent" sounds more like "eeyaaaccent" but those little things are what I enjoy about the US. :)
I loved the story about the Coast Guard. So inspiring! I lost my husband four years ago to Covid. I found myself in a dark place. If it wasn’t for God and my kids I would have given up. I choose to keep swimming. ❤
I hear your accent every once in a while! I will never forget the video of Chris explaining some landscaping stuff to the camera and I had NO idea what he said because his accent is thick!😂😂 I am also from Minnesota so we pronounce things differently than everyone haha!
Awesome job! Here in Pittsburgh PA our y’all is ‘yinz’ 😂. If you’re comfortable sharing, I think a bunch of us would love to know where the building progress is for your new home 😊 take care
This is for your new subscribers: If this is your first time watching her videos, start listening to her from here 13:26 This is why I look forward to your videos!!
I don’t think you have a southern accent, but I definitely pick up when you say y’all. I was born and raised in Maryland and now live in South Carolina, so my ears here very easily. 😊
Great job decluttering! We have moved multiple times. I found that taping them both ways across the bottom of the box, they stay together better. I would keep all your storage bins. You may use them in the new house.
I say y’all and you all in a professional setting. I am from the south by the way of my parents and grandparents. But I was born up north, spending summers and holidays in the south. Carolina’s to be exact. You don’t have a heavy southern drawl, if that was your concern. Enjoying the content at any rate😊
I was born and raised in Texas and still in Texas everyone here or family and friends say yall but if your not from here they say you guys and ofc we give them a look for it and ask where there from 🤣🤣
Lol, yes you do, but it’s cause your from the south, it’s awesome, we are born and raised in PA, from Northeast Philly, and when we moved to the suburbs when my older brothers started school a teacher told my brother he spoke funny. 😂 he eventually lost his accent.
Good choice to declutter months before you move or sell your house. It's definitely better to do this when you're not pressured. Most often people run out of time & then end up packing everything up only to declutter at the other end 😊.
Great decluttering motivation Michelle. I think it is great you are working on this now for 2 reasons: 1) It will help with selling up your home to have less clutter. 2) I’ve tried to declutter when moving and I just didn’t have the time and moving was going too fast to have time to declutter. I am from Alabama and I definitely have an accent and I definitely say “Y’all “. 😊❤😊
Michelle after going to the vet for our dog for the fourth UTI I thought of your pup. I know your dog is older and older dogs just have accident but it could also be a UTI might not hurt to check with the vet it’s just a quick urine sample test. Also puppy pads laid down for them somewhere might help you with not ruining rugs espcially in the new house!
WOWWWW...U DID AN AMAZING JOB ON DECLUTTERING ❤ GREAT JOB 😊 KERP UP THE AMAZING JOB THAT U DO THXS FOR SHAREING MUCH APPRECIATED N MUCH LOVE 😊LOOK FOWARD TO SEEING UR NEXT VIDEO ❤

I just sold my house the end of March,I was trying to declutter and get rid of so much stuff at the same time, but it sold in the first day of my open house, good luck.
I think the way you are doing things to prepare for packing and moving will work well for you! Upstate New York and we do not say ya’ll…definitely a southern thing 😂
I hear an accent…a texas accent. ❤ and I do the same thing at work where I change ya’ll to you guys. I feel like I spent a lot of time trying to get rid of my texas accent or minimize it at least 😂

You are too nice to me!

I have always used ziploc bags for storage. I get made fun of for it but hey stuff is together 😂🤷♀️
It’s so easy! I love using them for storage!

Thank you! You too!
I just joined your channel. I also suffer from depression and anxiety attacks. Also panic attacks.
U have no accent . Love all your videos
Thank you!
Me, you’re doing fabulous 😜❤️
Lol I used to say "you guys" until I moved to Texas 13 years ago and now say yall. It's the same, I used to say pop but now say soda.
Yes! My Mom would also say Pop
I hear an accent…a texas accent. ❤ and I do the same thing at work where I change ya’ll to you guys. I feel like I spent a lot of time trying to get rid of my texas accent or minimize it at least 😂

I think I have a kind of obsession with things that emotional connection with items 🤭
I don't hear an accent! But I am a Hoosier, so everyone thinks we have an accent, lol!
Awesome! ❤
Thanks!
Hi❤❤😊
Lol I have never been able to use 'you' as plural it has forever been yall for me...but I am a super super southern wv girlie lol
😊❤
I always say yall ... I am very Southern.
Yes u do but just be u
💖💖💖
I'm in Scotland. U definitely have an accent!
😂😂
👏👏👏👏🤩💕💕💕
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
😅👍🏼
Y"all is definitely southern. In the north we say "you all" or just "you". Either way, it is more inclusive and appropriate than "you guys" in today's world.
I have to ask a question. I noticed that when almost all you You Tubers make up the kids bed that there is NOT a top sheet. Do people NOT use top sheets anymore?? My kids always had matching sheets and pillowcases. PS... your music is LOUD when you're not talking.
Y'all is sounds southern to me. I'm from PA. Lol
❤❤❤❤
قمر ميشال انت كتير حلوة ❤❤
Thank you Diana!
👍🏽❤️
I say y’all, I was wondering why all these you tubers were saying you guys🤣
😂😂😂
I’m from Louisiana. You don’t Have an accent to me lol
It’s hey y’all all day! And everyone else I know does the same. Hi guys is weird to me
🩶🐰🩶🐰🩶
❤
I'm in Kentucky. Y'all is common. "You guys" sounds very weird to me
I must have been unsubscribbed but thought you had disappeared from TH-cam for a bit. I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I could not think of your name in order to search, but I knew I missed you. It was frustrating. I'm thrilled this popped up!
Also, I hear the accent, but I'm sure I have one too. Being from NY, when we would visit our cousins in WI, I remember them and their friends always asking if I'd ever seen anyone shot 😂 They'd have been shocked by all the horse farms where I lived (45 min ouside NYC). Stereotypes are funny sometimes.
Not so much the accent, but I notice you say sat "Whenever I was younger" Whenever I had Rye." Instead of When I did x or When I had x...
