In the first 1:27 of this track, the tone makes me see some profound yet subtle theme in the pic, that, because of the blurriness, it's not the 2 iconic Snakes contending for the last time, but an abstraction now, just 2 men fighting the good fight. When you play through all the games and understand the characters, you notice that although these 2 brothers are the antitheses of each other, they were ultimately fighting for the same end, to be "free from the system". This is where I see the soft evening sky come in, denoting the end of one era and the start of another. All that's left is that final battle. And with the picture, I also see some symbolism within the Snakes' superficial appearances. Good vs. Evil, Professional vs. Austere, Contemporary vs. Anachronistic, Technological vs. Barren, that's what I see. These themes clash here, and as the turn of the era begins, only one side will emerge victorious. Overall, what am I trying to impart here? While the TH-camr himself may not had intended it, the blurriness of this pic makes it an excellent example of "the hidden message", and that just looking at it without playing the games will deprive you of something so rich and beautiful. There's probably so many more themes you can grasp from this one picture, but I'll leave that for you to find. I've already written a lot as it is. :)
this final boss fight is very nostalgic taking you through all the metal gear solid themes was a great idea so people would never forget where the liquid and solid rivalry started
In all honesty I'd have to say this was the best final battle of any game. It was some gun figh or chase scene, it was just simple hand to hand combat. And it didn't involve saving the world or saving someone else. It was just unfinished business. Thank you Kojima for creating such a masterpiece.
I might have not played all the metal gears but every time i play any of them its just so emotional i break down to tears and everyday i try to learn more and more about metal gear solid anything new i try to read or watch. METAL GEAR FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The way they used the previous MGS songs was nice in this game. It started with the fast-paced Encounter and Tanker Incident songs to compliment the fast-paced fighting between Snake and Ocelot. Then, they slowed it down with Snake Eater for the CQC-style battling, then finished with the Old Snake theme showing things coming to an end! It's real touching!
aw man, i just re-lived your excitement. im playing the game over again, but ill never forget the first time i played it, it left an impression on me. there is no other that has brought out the emotion in me like this game did. it will live on and make its course through history as one of the best games ever, my favorite for sure.
there is so much depth to the characters better then that of any other game. the soundtrack just add to the atmosphere of a groundbreaking scene. the battle felt surreal to me and i enjoyed it a lot
This had to be one of the Greatest Final Boss Fights in the History of Gaming. No huge explosions, just a final showdown between two old rivals, a Legendary Battle of Fistycuffs.
no matter how good the graphics get, no matter how realistic the games get, no matter how fucking brilliant looking the games get, MGS series will always be the very best game series ever created!
Out of all the games I've played in my life ranging from action, rpg, and shooters. This was the most epic final battle ever. I had goosbumps throughout the entire fight. The music boosted the epicness aswell. It's not a metal gear game I haven't played thats already been released...Basically....I FUCKS WITH METAL GEAR!!
Man, I totally agree with you 1000%. I still find it shocking when that there are gamers out there who haven't played Medal Gear yet. They don't know what they're missing!
this in my my opinion is one the best soundtracks to a game and one of the best games ever made, it just had so much effort put into it, we need for games with dedication like this, i cant think of a single problem with this game not one. Hideo kojima is just a genius thank you Hideo kojima for an amazing beggining and an amazing end for solid snake, its moments like this fight that show the epicness of these games LONG LIVE METAL GEAR SOLID
@DANKIDYD I didnt cry just......thought...." This is Freaking EPIC!!!! To to make liquid pay!!!" and then the whole "LLLLLIIIIQQQQUUUIIIDDD!!!!" Part just made me go crazy for the fight
This is the most epic boss fight ever. I mean... two old men fighting with only their hands (in such a high tech world with mechs and all the stuff) on the top of the most epic submarine ever createt while the sun is going down in the background and the most epic songs from the prequels before are playing. And than you think of it: "So this is it. This is how the story of Snake ends. Awesome with the songs from the games before." And you're right... it is awesome. It suits perfect.
MGS4 is the First metal gear game I have played personally. I have watched my friend play through MGS2 and MGS3 and the gameplay just wasn't very suiting to me, but the story was fanftastic and allowed me to have an idea what was going on in MGS4. The gameplay in4 in my opinion is the perfect blend of stealth and action. I love the controls too. Instead of "HOld down square for 3 seconds. now let go and press circle. Okay now hit up up down down and then kick yourself in the face to shoot.
I honestly can't believe how addicting this game is. I have beat this game 11 times. It has to be the greatest game i've ever played in my life time so far....
I'm 29, and have loved the series and how it continued from the 80's, and I can say with absolute certainty that this is my favorite series of all time. It's a part of me, so I have no problem saying that when Snake rounded the corner and I saw Shadow Moses depicted perfectly in 3D with the convo and soundtrack to accompany it, I nearly cried. No game has done that to me, EVER!!!. That should mean something, if the point of art is to invoke emotion, Hideo, you have done that, Thank you!!!
When I fought Liquid and listened to this songs I almost cried, Metal Gear Solid is the best game I have ever played. It has the best story ever told. I love it. R.I.P. Solid Snake
This game DID make me tear up. It was by far the most touching game I have ever played. Many players of the series grew up with it, so the finale of it was moving.
This is the first PS3 game I've compleeted and that was also one of the greatest game I have played thorugh. Also this boss was a highlight itself, at least I mean so.
@DarkTsubasa You didn't choose Metal Gear Solid. Metal Gear Solid chose YOU. MGS is a game only understood and powerful to those who deserve it. You have been blessed.
When you think about it, most of the entire game is a ode to the whole MGS series, what with the return to Shadow Moses and shooting on the bike with EVA. The only thing I don't really see is a part for MGS2(but then again I don't really remember much of that one :D).
This great music bring me memories of how repeatlidy time i try to finish the game without die nor use special weapons and not be seen and detected by cameras and alarms.
This game series got me into gaming. The story........oh my god.....the plot was just IN-credible. Throughout this entire series I laughed, I cried, I got frustrated, I felt enormous achievement, I felt surprised at certain parts, I got adrenaline at certain parts gameplay AND story, I felt EMOTION and a wide range of it too as you can see. This series is truly the best and will ALWAYS remain the best in my opinion. From music, to gameplay to everything this truly was a magnificent piece of art
Because they have a great a deep storyline, not as most of the games that are so superficial, and has many facts of real history, is simply an amazing game!
I cried while playing this whole game, was like my childhood was slowly being taken away the more I played :( then it make you believe he shoots himself and I lost it like never before :( feels bad man.
omg it was AMAZING i know. I cried at the end too, it was so sad. There were so many good lines at the end too. Snake crawling to get to GW with the background music and the split screen was heartbreaking. He almost didnt make it. The battle was epic, no other words can describe it. The ending with Big Boss and Snake was so sad and touching but I truly couldn't ask for a better ending. Long live Solid Snake.
wtf....its the most okay game-play wise. good for 1 play through. the game gets a 8/10 for gameplay. what makes this game amazing is the characters and deep, deep story. it goes above and beyond any game has with its story. voice acting, cinematics, thats whats amazing, the game itself is just pretty good
We'll find out soon enough. I love MGS for what it is. An amazing stealth game with amazing storyline, memorable characters, great graphics and very fun and fluid gameplay. Metal Gear Rising kinda caught me off guard when I found out it was a hack n' slash. But I always find it interesting when they decide to try something different. Maybe it'l work out, maybe it won't. The only way to know for sure is to play the game and find out for ourselves.
for every shoot that u do whit snake ! , for every punch , for every last breath of greenbar life ! , for every continue , for the legend of METAL GEAR SOLID PLAYERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OWNED ALL GAMES SINCE TEN YEARS ! GODJIMA !
It only took 3 seconds of clicking on this video for me to get chills. this music instantly fills your heart with snakes story. everything flashes for an instant and your left with chills.
I honestly don't hate Raiden; he's NEVER going to be as awesome as Snake, but he's not terrible. I honestly am excited about Raiden. Some of the action scenes with him towards the end of MGS2 were great, and I can't wait to play those on the PS3. Oh, and I can't wait for Big Boss's next adventure!
omg i couldn't have said this any better myself. when i was playing this part, my entire family stopped to watch, nobody said a word, we all just watched the screen. It gave me chills, I knew everything was coming to an end, and here was Snake, fighting to for his life, to save everyone elses.
I agree. When I finished the game I felt so sad knowing Snake was done. That we wouldn't get to play him one last time. Seeing the characters from Part 1 like Mei Ling, Naomi, Campbell and Meryl and how they end up was just crazy. ha it sounds funny but i'm glad Snake got the peace he deserves. Sorry, but a part 5 is very unlikely. Konami already said he is done with the story, he wants no more, thats why he left it with no chance of continuing or going back. Let's hope he has a change of heart
Yeah i hear what you're saying. I thought thats what happened at first. But the whole Big Boss scene was phenomenal. I knew it wasn't him when they burnt that body, Big Boss wouldn't go down like a bitch. The stuff he said to Snake at the end marks some of the best quotes in gaming history. "This is good, isn't it?"
I've played MGS since I was 6-8 years. Played MGS 1, MGS2, MGS3 in that order, but couldn't play MGS4 because it was only for PS3, but 6 years after it's release I played it and cried over 4 times with it. The story, the characters, snake voice was EPIC too, it's a shame David Hayter is not going to make the Snake's voice on MGS 5. The soundtrack, is also a masterpiece; I LOVE every single soundtrack, From Encounter, Duel, Snake Eater, Metal Gear Saga, etc.... LOVE HIDEO KOJIMA LOL
I know you posted that comment three years ago, but...if you were able to handle Metal Gear at 8 years of age, then you're a badass with balls of steel. I only started MGS 1 when I was 15.
The story was just told all too well, and it was a graphical masterpiece to top it off. Even watching the scene after Meryl's wedding where Hal basically tells Sunny that Snake has died a second time brought me to tears.
One thing you didnt know, it that Chuck Norris is an actual Outer Haven veteran.. That's how POWERFUL Metal Gear Solid really is... Long live Big Boss, and his Sons *Salutes*
There's another game for 360,Ps3 and PC called Metal Gear Solid Rising. Features Raiden in it. Kojima says both Peace Walker(PSP game) and Rising are MGS5
this game is epic! i got a ps3 two days ago and ive been playing it non stop! my xbox is going to be sitting in a corner collecting dust for a looooooong time
But Kojima also said that he won't let anyone but him work on anything dealing with Snake. But, I'm sure that regardless of who's spearheading it, new Metal Gear games will be awesome; everyone at Konami knows how special and great MG is. It won't end up like Sonic!!!
May the greatest hero never be forgotten, long live solid snake

great comment!
you would make my IB teacher cry tears of analytical joy if she saw this comment!
this game is truly a legend the whole series is never once drives away your attention.
An incredible amount of genius went into the creation of this game.
this final boss fight is very nostalgic taking you through all the metal gear solid themes was a great idea so people would never forget where the liquid and solid rivalry started
@SpawnSpectre simply listening to the music almost brings me back to tears.... this game was an amazing experience!

I will play these series over & over again and it will still be the best series of games ever!!!
I might have not played all the metal gears but every time i play any of them its just so emotional i break down to tears and everyday i try to learn more and more about metal gear solid anything new i try to read or watch. METAL GEAR FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
man, it was cool when they put the ending for all the theme songs for each game.
Encounter.
Raiden's Encounter.
Snake Eater.
And old Snake
The way they used the previous MGS songs was nice in this game. It started with the fast-paced Encounter and Tanker Incident songs to compliment the fast-paced fighting between Snake and Ocelot. Then, they slowed it down with Snake Eater for the CQC-style battling, then finished with the Old Snake theme showing things coming to an end! It's real touching!

I honestly can't believe how addicting this game is. I have beat this game 11 times. It has to be the greatest game i've ever played in my life time so far....
This ending was fucking legendary!
Old Snake, you may be gone, but may you never be forgotten.
What an epic final battle. Theres just too much greatness that went into it to describe. After 4 games Revolver Ocelot is finally stopped.
@MyPs3gamer
All right; thanks. It is so hard to search for specific songs from this soundtrack set, but I love all of them!
Perhaps the best game saga ever made. The best consistent story and intense gameplay.
@ThinkLearnSolve Amen, amen. I am SICK of the console wars; the gaming world needs more people that think like you
I'm 29, and have loved the series and how it continued from the 80's, and I can say with absolute certainty that this is my favorite series of all time. in my opion this was the best game ever, and i have never even played it online. the story mode is unbeliveably fun. and the music made it even better
"A hero is nothing but fiction. Someone tells a story, someone remembers, everybody passes it on."
-Solid Snake
When I fought Liquid and listened to this songs I almost cried, Metal Gear Solid is the best game I have ever played. It has the best story ever told. I love it.
R.I.P. Solid Snake
This game DID make me tear up. It was by far the most touching game I have ever played. Many players of the series grew up with it, so the finale of it was moving.
man this game was amazing, even though the storyline is longer than the gameplay, its the best. especially when u fight ocelot, epic fight
MGS4 is undeniably the best game of the series as well as being the best game against any other game out there
This is the first PS3 game I've compleeted and that was also one of the greatest game I have played thorugh. Also this boss was a highlight itself, at least I mean so.

Metal Gear Solid is the ultimate fusion of epic moments and gameplay
Big boss...
Solid Snake...
"salute"
This great music bring me memories of how repeatlidy time i try to finish the game without die nor use special weapons and not be seen and detected by cameras and alarms.
Solid Snake Vs. Liquid Ocelot: Unfinished Business indeed. They once had a fight of hatered in MGS1, now they must finish what they started.
This game series got me into gaming. The story........oh my god.....the plot was just IN-credible. I have nothing to say, the songs say everything we need to know, emotions, we can find all of them in MGS series.
Because they have a great a deep storyline, not as most of the games that are so superficial, and has many facts of real history, is simply an amazing game!
Man, the ultimate showdown that was always meant to be since the beginning of the Franchise.
@ChriswithMatt
Technically one hour XD, but it's still one of the most amazing endings in video game history. Greatest Final Boss Fight Ever.
I cried while playing this whole game, was like my childhood was slowly being taken away the more I played :( then it make you believe he shoots himself and I lost it like never before :( feels bad man.

If anyone is wondering the song order:
0:00 - 1:24 Metal Gear Solid Theme (New)
1:25 - 3:50 Encounter 2008 (Metal Gear Solid)
3:51 - 5:53 Tanker - Alert (Metal Gear Solid 2)
5:54 - 8:46 Snake Eater (Metal Gear Solid 3)
@Shadowhog 0:00 - 1:24 can be found in the main theme for MGS3, at 2:40 in "Zero Allies", and "Father and Son"! What a beautiful melody!
The Ultimate Sacrifice for the Utimate hero *Salutes* Snake is my Favorite Video game hero of all time long live Solid Snake

Haha! With this Encounter track from MGS4, you can still hear the Seagulls. Regardless, it's still amazing to listen to the track and its epicness.
Solid snake
Metal Gear Solid
The only series that can bring grown men to tears... and it's still manly to cry
I agree. When I finished the game I felt so sad knowing Snake was done. That we wouldn't get to play him one last time. Waiting for MGS Collection HD!!
@DarkTsubasa Metal Gear .. A MANS GAME OF AWESOME and EPICNESS !!! MGS FTW!!
Metal Gear Forever!
Thanks Kojima for this epic masterpiece
Yeah i hear what you're saying. I thought thats what happened at first. But the whole Big Boss scene was phenomenal. Very mature from you. Fat fuck.
I know you posted that comment three years ago, but...if you were able to handle Metal Gear at 8 years of age, then you're a badass with balls of steel. I only started MGS 1 when I was 15.
thanks, it's really nice to have this song handy. it's missing from the OST
@jman717277 you sir set an impeccable example for all
The story was just told all too well, and it was a graphical masterpiece to top it off. Even watching the scene after Meryl's wedding where Hal basically tells Sunny that Snake has died a second time brought me to tears.
This game is legendary. It will never be forgotten.
@Shadowhog I'm glad I'm not the only one that sees this.
Alter beim dem Video kommen einem ja fast die tränen weil das einfach nur EPIC ist! Ich zock jetzt wieder alle 4 teile durch :)
One thing you didnt know, it that Chuck Norris is an actual Outer Haven veteran.. That's how POWERFUL Metal Gear Solid really is...
Long live Big Boss, and his Sons
*Salutes*
I do man. I love the whole fucking series. LONG LIVE METAL GEAR SOLID!!!!!!!!
Long live Solid Snake our Hero in the Video Game World!
You are my Hero Snake!
One of the best endings ever...
Just finished MGS4 yesterday, I was even ashamed that I didnt play it earlier (had no ps3)
I was playing a legend.
I just got MGS2 Platinum and came here to relax listening to this beautiful final boss soundtrack.
may metal gear live forever, not in a screen, but in our hearts....
I've never played a Metal Gear game. Never. But man, this music is EPIC.
MGS, l'une des plus grande saga du jeux vidéo ! épique ! il sera à jamais marqué dans l'histoire du jeu vidéo.
There's another game for 360,Ps3 and PC called Metal Gear Solid Rising. Features Raiden in it. Kojima says both Peace Walker(PSP game) and Rising are MGS5
man, the First Metal Gear had an awsome theme... I would let myself get caught to hear it...
this game is epic! i got a ps3 two days ago and ive been playing it non stop! my xbox is going to be sitting in a corner collecting dust for a looooooong time
1st one: Not so sure :S
2nd one: a Remix of Encounter from MGS1
3rd one: Tanker theme from MGS2
4th one: Snake Eater from MGS3
@StyleLePelt, Song - Snake Eater (Cynthia Harrel) , its the MGS3 intro song
@kirbyrocky509 in MGS 2 sons of liberty you can hear this song when you fight olga on the tanker, its also the escape music to the same level.
this is the only game i know where the music background during the last boss fight is a music combination of 3 previous games plus this game.
*wipes tears* this is.. beautiful.. people are finaly learning to stop bickering at eachother over the internet..
But Kojima also said that he won't let anyone but him work on anything dealing with Snake. But, I'm sure that regardless of who's spearheading it, new Metal Gear games will be awesome; everyone at Konami knows how special and great MG is. It won't end up like Sonic!!!
Seriously.......Metal Gear Solid may just be a series of games...but it is an IMMORTAL series of games.
i stand up and salute Kojima for creating this forever lasting Master Piece!
That trumpet part was incredible.
ive only got the MGS on playstation 1 but i can see why MGS is so legendary
every mgs i played i think itz the best game i ever played and i can't wait for the movie
That is a GREAT IDEA! Introduce them to one of the BEST SERIES ALIVE
