He was killed by the Dixie Mafia godfather's doctor through suffocation at St. Joseph Hospital by a pillow after that doctor and others spat on Dr. King. They told the staff who were working on Dr. King to stop working on that N-word and let him die. All were involved in the plot to kill Dr. King including the government and that Rev. Good doc., but one thing was mentioned in a book about this case that wasn't referenced here: Ray told someone that the reason he left the bundle ( with the rifle ) was because he saw a police car up the street, just as he was fleeing the scene. He could only see the back half of the cruiser; he quickly decided to drop the bundle, not sure whether there was a cop in the car or not.Judging from this doc, there were plenty of policemen on the scene, who might have spotted a man carrying a rifle- sized bundle.

I remember when our Mother made us sit down in front of the T.V. and watch the News of when he was assassinated that day! I also clearly remember turning to my Mother crying as we watched the News, asking her: Why does anybody want to kill a Doctor? Not knowing who Dr. King was at that age, I was just crying because they killed a Doctor and I thought that Doctors were supposed to save people's lives, that's what I was crying for.

I'm sure he did. Ray was proven to have been stalking Dr. King. Only Ray's fingerprints, and no one else's, was found on the rifle. someone checked into the boarding house across the street using one of Ray's aliases. The person running from that bathroom matched Ray's description and the car speeding away matched the description of the white ford mustang Ray was driving. The bundle that included the rifle that was dropped near the scene included Ray's prison belongings, and fibers from it matched the room that the figure who used Ray's aliases was staying. It was Ray who shot and murdered Dr. King.

Dr Martin Luther King jr was the greatest Man of God, preacher and Civil Rights Leader this country has ever had.
His sermons and speeches are immortalized in our history and the masses were persuaded to non violent protest and a mostly peaceful revolution that changed the USA for the better.
Hoover’s white nationalist hate of King and to get rid of King backfired on Hoover because of the intense riots that occurred just after MLK was assassinated, as Ted Kennedy was also.
King was against the Vietnam War and the Poor Peoples Campaign needed more traction.
“You got money for bombs and war, but you you don’t have money feed the poor”.
I was a teenager living in the burbs of Detroit when the riots broke out.
My father drove close enough to see all the smoke of the burning buildings as the news media put out the stories.
    I wanted to know why?
I wanted to go to college at 15. My dad wanted me to go to Vietnam instead and gave me an offer to leave home on my 16th birthday, of which I did not to go to Vietnam. I ran away and moved into Detroit to play music with some of the Motown scene and got to understand the deep scars of racism in this country.
I was asked to play at the Detroit Freedom Festival circa 1971. Our group had two Afro American brothers and two caucasian brothers. We were playing our last song “There’s a Thing Goin Around Called Funk” when this big black limo pulls up behind the crowd at this outdoor festival. Four uniformed Afro American body guards opened the limo doors simultaneously and escorted out a well dressed women. They escorted her around the crowd to the side of the stage and when we walked off the stage the guards pushed through the crowd to introduce us to Coretta Scott King. She commended us and shook our hands. I didn’t understand at first till I realized that we represented a partial fulfillment of Martin Luther King Jr’s dream.
