Yes! I did think about that as a solution but we ended up buying a new electric blanket that’s 12v and has a timer built in now 👌🏽 thanks for watching Robinson!
I’m just about ready to buy a V2 Pro GFC. Would you recommend this camper? I live in the PNW and little worried about water and maybe build quality. Planning on lots of ski and bike camping. Thanks!
With the Pro version I do think GFC has fixed a lot of the issues I have with it currently with my v2 (non pro) with the price point and weight I think its a good deal but there are a lot of vendors coming out with new campers that are a bit cheaper (not as battle tested though) like Harker Outdoors, Packout Campers, Tune, etc.
Great video man! I am picking up my GFC just before Thanksgiving and will be taking my time and camping in several spots on my way home. Winter tips are appreciated! Thanks :)
Thats great! Congrats on getting the GFC! Montana is such an awesome area to kick start your GFC journey! It's definitely going to be cold so be prepared but you'll have a blast, its been a fun upgrade to camp and explore. Let me know if you have any questions! I documented my entire GFC pickup journey/first few nights camping here: th-cam.com/play/PLULLdZboZ_panpeH0SQpcDYzLxdDA3ANv.html
Good video my dude! Congrats on 100 videos, I’ve never paid attention to that. Thanks for giving me ideas, tips and inspiration to get out and film. Hoping to meet up soon
Thanks man! I didnt realize until I checked my page on the TH-cam app and it said 100 videos lol! We will definitely get out sometime soon! i'm actually looking at another power source option, how are you liking the Bluetti and which one did you get?
I definitely didn't run it all night just until I fell asleep. Because it is propane it does produce some condensation so I also run it with a window open and a fan running to help keep the condensation down
Since the bedrug doesn't absorb water how does it manage water from wet shoes/wet gear ? Does it dry fast enough in the cold to be able to walk on a dry surface the next day ?
Hey Joel! Since we live in the desert, water dries up really quick and since we dont get a lot of rain here either I dont deal with having to live in the GFC with wet gear. If I know i'm going to be hanging out in the camper while we camp, i'll hang wet gear to dry and keep the cab/bed rug area clean and avoid putting wet items on the carpet
@@Kadenventures Hey Thank you for answering my question! I'm looking to do ski resort camping and was looking for a way to help insulate the bed on my truck. I'd like to keep my gear inside and not have to worry about walking on a wet floor. I think an absorption pad on that area would help
@@3lGall0N3gr0 Agreed! The bedrug would definitely help would insulation and as far as storing/drying wet gear in the truck bed, I would look at getting one of those plastic boot trays so you can set that on the ground underneath where your hanging your wet gear (snow pants/jacket/etc) so the water doesnt drip directly on the bedrug floor
Maybe we can meet up at A-day chill spot this season near searchlight nellis cove area I usually have about 3 to 5 people with me my wife my daughter and a buddy or 2 always a good time
For the truck bed holes, I put the bolts that held the ultitracks back in to plug those. The rest I ordered a variety sized rubber grommet pack from Amazon and used those to plug the rest.
Thanks ! That is a good idea, luckily I saved my utilitrac rails lol I did buy a variety size rubber grommet pack from Amazon but none of those fit the big holes in the bed sadly lol I need to order another variety pack of go to Home Depot to find some
Thanks for the winter camp tips much appreciated! Question, when did you film this? I'm from the Vegas valley and didn't know there was snow at mt. Charleston around this time.
Thanks R! Glad you enjoyed the video 🤙 I filmed this in the beginning of March, 3/7 to be exact. There is definitely snow up there but you need to get up to the summit area by the ski resort, not a lot of snow driving in
Nice! I love winter camping bec not a lot of people do it so spots like these that would normally be PACKED in the summer I was the only one out there lol The truck is a short bed 5 ft
I do now! When I filmed this video this was before I got a disel heater. My first time with a disel heater here: th-cam.com/video/TOBHKqhrwDA/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching!
Just got a GFC for my 23 Frontier. GFC used mounts made for my Utilitrak. You may be able to get them if you want them.
Awesome good to know! I may reach out to them so I can put my tracks back on. Congrats on getting the GFC! How you liking your 23 Frontier?
@@Kadenventures Really liking it so far!
Thank you
Thanks for watching Mostee!
EXCELLENT!
Thank you! 🙌
maybe you can use a timer on the electric blanket to go off and on?

Haha no doubt !

Thanks for watching Yuki! Glad you enjoyed it. Cheers!
What is that heater that you’re using?
Hey Troy! It's called a Campy Stove amzn.to/3NSFAWP
With that stove at night how was the condensation in the GFC? Thanks.
I definitely didn't run it all night just until I fell asleep. Because it is propane it does produce some condensation so I also run it with a window open and a fan running to help keep the condensation down
