The USDA absolutely DOES NOT inspect Lunchly. That’s not what they do. They inspect RAW meat, poultry, and eggs shipped nationally and internationally. People really should look into what is and isn’t inspected. A lot of food you would think is inspected is actually,in fact, not.
So you're saying the meat they bought and tampered then put into lunchly was once FDA approved. But they could have done anything to it by the time it hits the shelf. OH GOD

Okay, but it was 100% an accident. Lunchly didn't loose anything because of this and Logan Doxxed a REAL PERSON and ruined A FATHERS CAREER over an accident. Hey Meat Scientist here, USDA does inspect plants that produce products containing processed meats. Depending on the amount of meat it is possible that the pizza Lunchly is made on a USDA inspected line. The Turkey in the Turkey Lunchly also has to be inspected by the USDA. Anything inspected by the USDA must have a USDA approval seal (also called a bug) with the plant number it was made in. In Lunchly's case the assembling plant. Any food product that does not fall under USDA inspection, will fall under FDA inspection which is less frequent due to those foods being typically lower in hazard risk. Both the USDA and FDA have the power to issue recalls based on the Food Safety of the product. Most recalls start as voluntary, when the company producing realizes they did something wrong and recalls the product. The FDA and USDA will issue a "voluntary recall" and the contaminated lots will be removed from locations selling them. The public that may have purchased them, will be warned to discard any contaminated product they purchased. Usually with signs... Like the one the employee put up...

I used to work at a grocery store. It's so easy for signs with wrong information go up especially if they are doing them manually. People and programs arent perfect. Logan was acting like the sign was put up with malice but in reality it was put up as a way to protect people just in case. They really are on a power trip.

Unfortunately, considering how big of a following Logan has, the company probably decided it was best to keep him out of the public eye for the time being to prevent further harassment to both him and the store. That's the sad reality of this world, influencers have power. at least they didn't directly fire him though, most brands would've to maintain their reputation. I don't know about defamation. (At least not yet.) But harassment and doxxing he does have a case against Logan. I don't know if he has a case for wrongful termination, but I do believe FM has handled this incorrectly because they should be cutting business with Lunchly because this is such unprofessional behavior to harass an employee.

I work at a grocery store and if I was in Casey's position I would have been devastated and honestly terrified. Mistakes happen a lot more than people think, especially with super big stores with hundreds of part-time employees going in and out in 4-5 hour spurts. I would be in tears in Casey's position, especially if it was a mistake that was approved by my manager.

The company should be looking into any legal ramifications of Logans rant. Not only have they made all employees at risk by posting the location of the store, but also the 'rep' trespassed into employee only areas. I really hope that Casey doesn't lose his job due the fault of another person's action online.
Having worked at a grocery store in the past, we constantly had reps coming in and out of service doors, pulling stock out of the back to restock the shelves with their product (which was an issue because sometimes the shelves were empty because a department was moving a display and the work just wasn't complete because we didn't have an overnight crew.) It definitely needs to be enforced for situations like Casey's. I've seen reps berate staff for not having the new flavours of a product, for the display being messy, etc. They definitely shouldn't be cornering staff in staff only areas at any store ever.
As someone autistic, I empathize so much with Casey and am horrified and disgusted by Logan's dehumanization and mocking attitude towards him. Can't say I'm surprised that Logan is the kind of guy to make fun of people different from him, but it hurts my heart that Casey had to go through such cruel attacks on such a viral level on the internet.

I expect Logan to try to defend himself on the basis that he was unaware of Casey's autism - but his mockery would be no less mean-spirited if Casey were neurotypical. Logan just happened to target a particularly vulnerable individual, which is statistically inevitable when someone bullies as many people as he does.
Same here, I feel the exact same way. On top of that, it can be so *so* difficult for so many autistic people to land a job that suits their accommodations. I have no doubt this guy will be able to land a job and move on from this if he does get terminated, but still. If I had found a job that both met my accommodations *and* was able to work my way up and get promoted, I can't Imagine how devastated Id be by something like this.
I work for a grocery store as well. Frozen/Dairy department specifically. We also have delt with the massive recalls going on. I myself have pulled things from the shelf before verifying that the item wasn't part of the recall. I would rather pull something early and have to restock it then not pull it and someone gets sick. Here the item wasn't even pulled it was just out of stock. Mistakes happen! I hope this guy doesn't lose his job and if he does he should sue Logan for this.

As a Fred Meyer associate I have a little of an inside viewpoint and it is absolutely insane to me that they sent a representative not only outside of normal business hours but at 9pm which is the time the last salaried manager leaves for the night at Freddie’s meaning they targeted this man while there was no legitimate support for him no one that could tell the rep to leave without risking their job To me that’s VERY threatening on top of their already threatening approach I get why he has been suspended pending but it also kind of disgusts me that Fred Meyer/ Kroger wouldn’t stand up to what is a clear attack on an employee Do better

The USDA absolutely DOES NOT inspect Lunchly. That’s not what they do. They inspect RAW meat, poultry, and eggs shipped nationally and internationally. People really should look into what is and isn’t inspected. A lot of food you would think is inspected is actually,in fact, not.

Hey Meat Scientist here, USDA does inspect plants that produce products containing processed meats. Depending on the amount of meat it is possible that the pizza Lunchly is made on a USDA inspected line. The Turkey in the Turkey Lunchly also has to be inspected by the USDA.
Anything inspected by the USDA must have a USDA approval seal (also called a bug) with the plant number it was made in. In Lunchly's case the assembling plant.
Any food product that does not fall under USDA inspection, will fall under FDA inspection which is less frequent due to those foods being typically lower in hazard risk.
Both the USDA and FDA have the power to issue recalls based on the Food Safety of the product. Most recalls start as voluntary, when the company producing realizes they did something wrong and recalls the product. The FDA and USDA will issue a "voluntary recall" and the contaminated lots will be removed from locations selling them. The public that may have purchased them, will be warned to discard any contaminated product they purchased.

I used to work at a grocery store. It's so easy for signs with wrong information go up especially if they are doing them manually. People and programs arent perfect. I work at a grocery store and if I was in Casey's position I would have been devastated and honestly terrified. Mistakes happen a lot more than people think, especially with super big stores with hundreds of part-time employees going in and out in 4-5 hour spurts. I would be in tears in Casey's position, especially if it was a mistake that was approved by my manager.

This poor guy is in the same struggle as the rest of us, and he is going to lose his income over some influencer who has a huge ego? Most of us can’t afford to live right now. I worked at Petco, and we put incorrect signs out or wrong labels all the time on accident and had to correct it. It was never a big deal. This is literally insane.

The company should be looking into any legal ramifications of Logans rant. Not only have they made all employees at risk by posting the location of the store, but also the 'rep' trespassed into employee only areas.
I really hope that Casey doesn't lose his job due the fault of another person's action online.
Having worked at a grocery store in the past, we constantly had reps coming in and out of service doors, pulling stock out of the back to restock the shelves with their product (which was an issue because sometimes the shelves were empty because a department was moving a display and the work just wasn't complete because we didn't have an overnight crew.) It definitely needs to be enforced for situations like Casey's. I've seen reps berate staff for not having the new flavours of a product, for the display being messy, etc. They definitely shouldn't be cornering staff in staff only areas at any store ever.
Considering they suspended him with no pay over this, I doubt it.
As someone autistic, I empathize so much with Casey and am horrified and disgusted by Logan's dehumanization and mocking attitude towards him. Can't say I'm surprised that Logan is the kind of guy to make fun of people different from him, but it hurts my heart that Casey had to go through such cruel attacks on such a viral level on the internet.

I expect Logan to try to defend himself on the basis that he was unaware of Casey's autism - but his mockery would be no less mean-spirited if Casey were neurotypical. Logan just happened to target a particularly vulnerable individual, which is statistically inevitable when someone bullies as many people as he does.
Same here, I feel the exact same way. On top of that, it can be so *so* difficult for so many autistic people to land a job that suits their accommodations. I have no doubt this guy will be able to land a job and move on from this if he does get terminated, but still. If I had found a job that both met my accommodations *and* was able to work my way up and get promoted, I can't Imagine how devastated Id be by something like this.
I work for a grocery store as well. Frozen/Dairy department specifically. We also have delt with the massive recalls going on.
I myself have pulled things from the shelf before verifying that the item wasn't part of the recall. I would rather pull something early and have to restock it then not pull it and someone gets sick.

As a Fred Meyer associate I have a little of an inside viewpoint and it is absolutely insane to me that they sent a representative not only outside of normal business hours but at 9pm which is the time the last salaried manager leaves for the night at Freddie’s meaning they targeted this man while there was no legitimate support for him no one that could tell the rep to leave without risking their job
