    @ Crazy Boyz RC......speaking as someone who has not been in RC since the early 1970's and I still have some of my old non-programmable radios laying around.....all I can say is "things have changed" and all for the better....however also speaking as someone getting back into the hobby or a novice and having recently purchased a Spektrum radio and new Blade heli ..........I have not been able to find a video tutorial that helps a beginner in programming and setting the radio perimeters , until now...... the manual assumes a level of knowledge of RC operation that a beginner will just will not have.....I found this video to be immensely helpful....BIG THUMBS UP !!! ......thanks much.....

    Great video , finally someone actually shows from the manual to the transmitter input!

    Thanks, I have a DX8 in the mail, but I think I understand the steps you laid out, just read the settings in the manual for my 230s binded (or is the correct term "bound") to a DX8. Seemed rather straight forward.
    Thanks for taking the time to make this neat video.

    @ CB RC .......one thing I noticed at the 4:00 min mark , the manual shows F-Mode should be set to switch "B'...yet you choose switch "D'...was this just your preference to move it to a switch on the other side of the TX ?... please explain, as there are a lot of us trying to follow along ......thanks ...

      CB....yes you are right...I see the Flight mode is set to B at the 3;00min mark...it's Gear that's set to D at the 4 min mark that's confusing me......can you explain what exactly the Gear function on switch D does?....thanks

    Again, really nice. Now, a noobie question. How does the DX9 know which heli, or plane, you want it to control? Do have to select the model you want to fly on the DX9, before binding?

    This applies to the v2 right? Also, why is there nothing in the manual about aux2?

  • @flipnap2112

    dont know if youre still monitoring these comments. i bought the 230s v2 and i have a dx9. the setup is fine but i DONT understand the mixing part form the manual. it says to use P1 and gives some settings that i have no idea what its talking about. im going from a much older dx8 to a new dx9 and not that familiar with the mixing menu. not even sure what the heck a "P1 mix" is. any ideas? thanks much for your help

      Hi do you have the dx6 or dx6i?

      @@crazyboyz8461 I figured it out, I messed up a small detail in mixing. But panic recovery seems sluggish.

    I have downloaded the 230s software to my DX6e, but have a problem. In normal mode it's working fine with safe and everything, but if I switch to mode 1 or 2 throttle goes to 100 %.
    Anyone knows how to fix this?

    • @joefagan9335
      @joefagan9335 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      i think it’s more or less normal. In mode 0 you control the rpm with the throttle. There’s always a positive pitch on the blades so it’s always lifting the Heli. In mode 1 rotor rpm should go to a constant 2400 rpm and mode 2 it should rev up to 2600 rpm and the lift is controlled by the blade pitch which is now your throttle in mode 1 and 2. When the throttle is in the centre the blades are flat so no lift. Above centre is pos pitch so lift. Below centre is neg pitch so you can fly inverted.

    • @hansostlund6602
      @hansostlund6602 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I see what you mean. The problem is that I get no negative or positive pitch with the throttle. It is the same as normal mode, aside the increased rpm that makes the Heli climb rapidly.

    • @joefagan9335

      Hans Östlund The problems is either radio setup or Heli. Here’s what I would do. Switch to mode 1 or 2. Turn throttle hold on so the rotor won’t spin. Then move the throttle up and down and watch the pitch on the blades change as swash plate lifts and falls. If this doesn’t happen I would first go to the Servo Setup section of the manual. If everything behaves as expected in this setup mode then the problem is with the radio programming.
      Btw I noticed from the programming at 11:50 that even in mode 0 the Heli is not setup like fixed pitch. When throttle is below mid the pitch is neg and increases to 0 at mid and then positive above mid. This means that when you switch from 0 to 1 while flying there should be minimal jump from the heli.

    • @hansostlund6602
      @hansostlund6602 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@joefagan9335 Thank you so much for the answer. I also think it's a radio setup problem. I will try what you have said. As the swash plate don't lift and fall I should look into the B swith programming :)

    • @hansostlund6602
      @hansostlund6602 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So, update... After following these steps it suddenly worked :) I got positive and negative pitch in mode 1 and 2.
      Maybe the problem was I had to reset the servos??!!
      I made no other changes on the radio.
      Not that I can fly inverted, but nice to get it sorted out!
      A good video that you can show others!

    you missed a step, in your channel assign. you didnt put gear to switch B

    • @hansostlund6602
      @hansostlund6602 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      When I change switch B from position 0 1 2 it changes, but I don't get the positive/negative pitch the other guy wrote about. Only more revs and lift, and not going back to neutral.
