Do you know what sheet music to supplement ABRSM Level 1 with? I’m just looking for some more music to practice and learn from besides the 9 they have.
Good to know about ABRSM. So far I think I'm happy with RCM. I can't say I've noticed any ABRSM books at Long and McQuade or anywhere else. Are there? It's always nice to have more repertoire from the Grade level one is working on to use as sight reading material. Since I don't care about most of the songs in my repertoire books, I don't really try to learn them, I just sight read them over and over again as I go through the book and sort of passively learn them. If there are any songs in the book I like, I will put more effort into them and try to learn them. Luckily there actually are a few songs in the Grade 1 and 2 books and etude books that are nice sounding. I'd like to see what the books in each ABRSM grade level are like so I can compare just out of curiousity. What do you know about the Canadian Conservatory? I heard on a youtube video for Roland pianos that Roland Piano's are the only digital Piano recognized and accepted by the Canadian Conservatory. I misunderstood that and thought they were saying the Royal Conservatory. So I was talking to the piano stores why that would be and they were very confused. I even emailed the RCM and they had no idea what i was talking about. I couldn't remember where I found that information anymore. Then months later I re watched that video by chance and finally got it. But I find it strange that they would only accept one kind of digital piano. Yamahas are just as good too!
+Michael McGill Yeah I have no idea about that! Long and McQuade doesn't carry the ABRSM books as far as I know, and they're really not that different from the RCM ones. For one, they're smaller with less selection. If you check the syllabus for ABRSM grade 1 (linked in my blog in the description), it'll tell you what specific songs are in the syllabus. But I personally think RCM covers enough ground.
Can you take any grade exam without having taken the previous exam to that? For example doing a grade 5 exam without having sat the grade 4 (or any previous levels)? Thanks!

heard someone say they took grade 2 skipped the first one
as far as i know, you can skip levels below grade 5, u cannot on the other hand take the grade 6, 7 or 8 exams unless you've taken the grade 5
And I skipped all that
well damn
