The best Siemens technologie course channel ! It helps me so much to understand in détails the sinamics from scratch and avoid lot of documentation. I'm working in flexography production company and all the machines uses sinamics(printing and cutting machines)
Haha. Calling it magic is a good way to put it. Sometimes it's awesome, Sometimes it's pulling a rabbit out of a hat...haha. thank you for helping this community grow!
Check out the most recent livestream! I'll get the chapters updated soon, but the first hour or so is about moving data around and controlling CU320 outputs from the PLC and it would be helpful for any S120 user!
for MC velocity you either need to activate a new command with the new velocity, or modify the Velocity.Override to modify the velocity during the move. If you want to be able to change the velocity setpoint and immediately change to the new velocity, use the MC_Jog command.
yes! There actually is an optional package called GMC Library that runs on the S120 system that does all the gearing on the CU320-2. It is considerably more complicated, and takes a good bit more effort to do. I have done quite a bit of work with this library and may do a class on it in the future. The link to the application is below which is free, but you will need the DCC (or CFC) compiler and an "Extended Performance" CF card for your CU. Technically however, you could do a gearing application without the use of a PLC with this method as long as the IO was not too much. support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/72839973
Also, I just thought of this... you do not need the technology CPU if you are only going to do MC_GearIn and not MC_GearInAbsolute. You will need a mid range CPU however as it takes extra resources.
Thank you so much for the reply. Is it possible to make one motor as master in position control mode and give the torque setpoints of the master motor to the slave which we can make a torque control mode for doing the gearin.
Absolutely! I go through the concept on this stream. th-cam.com/users/live-3CXiDvMQuQ?si=je9KKOY_OoRoCZ4p I go through it more in detail on this one: th-cam.com/users/livewkcElnMgVXg?si=i28sNOQQtSpJWbYn Be sure to like the videos to help the channel grow! Thank you for your support!
Thanks Jason.. thank you very much for all the efforts you take to teach us and making all our concepts clear. Also waiting for you video on camming. I hope also all the concepts of camming will be soon clear
Thank you for everyone that watched live! Feel free to ask questions here about these topics!

I'm glad these are helpful! I had great teachers in my years, so I try to honor them! Thank you for your support!
Keep up the fantastic work, Jason! We're all eager to see what automation magic you'll unleash next. ✨

Nice work, really interested and waiting for more about Sinamics S120, thanks.
Thanks! Now that I feel like I am getting most of the basics covered there are a lot of more advanced stuff that I think is super cool!
thank you very much...and next i wait video about the r89 parameters to communication to the PLC😁. THANKS!!!!

How to change on the fly of speed of mortor in MC_MoveVelocity ?

Is it possible to do GearIn directly into S120 without using technology controller
