If no women is going sub48s in 2025 then it wont happen coming years.

Marileidy was so close this year. And if Sydney gives her full focus to the open 400 we might even see two women under 48 in 2025!

@TrackAndFieldAllDay Yeah so its time for these women in their prime to show it in 2025. Dont forget Salwa & Femke. Femke has also the potential with her WR Indoor and 47.9 split record. Sydney was only bit faster with 47.8 split. Problem with Femke focus on 400mh again but who knows. Maybe few other ladies can also run low 48s but dont see potential in 2025 to run sub 48s.
So highest chance for Marileidy and then Sydney and Salwa with potential Femke to join this sub48s group. Nickisha could also join but only once ran mid 48s so she has to run it often!

Femke is devoted to 400m hurdles. I don't think she will prioritize the open 400 unless she has other plans. Imagine Femke, Sydney, Marileidy, Salwa and Nickisha running in the same 400m race in peak form with perfect conditions!

@@QuamfyMarcFemke has the opportunity to prove herself against the elite in the 400 via the Grand Slam. She could race Syd, Paulino, Pryce and Sawa 4 times in the open 400. Then she can race Syd 4 times in the 400mh. Where is she? Is she afraid to step outside her comfort zone? We all know she’s not on the same level as Sydney in the hurdles. That’s been proven time and time again. None of their head to head races have been close. Bol has yet to run sub 52 vs Sydney. On the other hand Syd breaks WRs everytime. All of those ladies above are superior to Bol in the open 400. She should want to challenge herself against the best in order to improve. Running exclusively in Europe without any competition does her no favors when facing the likes of Syd. BTW Syd will run sub 50 before the season is over.

@@Kobebok248McLaughlin won't run against Paulino, Pryce and Naser since they are in different groups. So what are you talking about lol

The Record is not going anywhere. The woman’s record is a roid record

I think it's the hardest world record to break in athletics.

47.60 is really fast! - I don't think it's fair or reasonable to even discuss someone running that sort of time when they have not at least broken 48. Anyone who has coached H. S. boys have a good preceptive on that time. There is almost no way a H.S. boy could run a 47x in the quarter who can't run at least sprint sub-11 in the 100m or perhaps is an exceptional 800m runner. In the case of Syd, I don't think she has the strength or speed to even break 48, let alone run in the mid-47s.

She has broken her own record before, and every time she broke her record, she came in a 1 second under.
