I am out here binging all of these reaction videos to Ustad NFAK and I am gleaming with joy smiling from ear to ear. As you've probably noticed, this concert was in Yokohama Japan, he transcended borders, religions, cultures, races, everything and he continues to do so after his passing. However the reason why I am smiling so much is because it is UNDENIABLE the insane amount of talent this master has as EVERY single video has everyone barely talking, barely stopping the videos and are just hypnotized and head banging.. THIS is what true powerful talent looks and sounds like. This is peak soul music.
Nusrat makes it looks so so easy, like he's just sitting there effortlessly. You only notice the complexity when the other vocalists (some of whom are ustads aswell) repeat his lines.

I'm an American, and I had the exact same reaction the first time I heard Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan (PBUH). It's a spiritual gut punch of joy. Qwalli music, I feel has deep spiritual roots. And Nusrat is the modern godfather of the genre. In South Asia and Muslim countries, and for me personally, he's almost a deity. There is no other singer I've heard who can compare. Even among Qwalli singers. And I believe that most traditional music from all over the world has universal appeal.
I highly recommend listening to him sing Nit Khair Manga, the beauty in that song touches my heart every time I hear it. Also, love seeing baby Rahat Fateh Ali Khan doing his thing in this performance.

Thank you very much indeed for sharing it. This is first time that I've seen the original video of popular qawwali by late Nusrat Fatah Ali Khan. You've correctly recognized that young man. He indeed is his nephew Rahat Fatah Ali Khan himself an Ace singer in Pakistan now. May I recommend you two olden golden sufi renditions: th-cam.com/video/9F4EizRXzWI/w-d-xo.html & th-cam.com/video/1Iv2f4g_sX0/w-d-xo.html. The first one is sung by Pakistani artist Saieen Zahoor who wrote its lyrics also. The second one is sung by Indian artist Gurdas Maan. The subtitles are available in first one whereas in second one they are not unfortunately.
