I have and used the livetarget shrimp lure. I used it once and caught a redfish after a few casts by the dock on the way in from fishing. It worked that one time, so.. I also use the livetarget slow roll shiner eveytime and THAT lure catches them all! Ive caught so many reds, trout, and bass on it so far! I also used the livetarget rigged shrimp and caught a speckled trout under a cork.
I like Gulp in colder water. In my part of Florida it’s tough to fish Gulp in warmer water because of all the ladyfish, lizard fish, and pin fish that tear them up.
Gulp shrimp has worked really well for me, especially when the fish are not that active. The few times that I fished with Live target, I caught some but not as many as the Gulp shrimp. That’s just my experience with it. Plus, since I have a lot of confidence in Gulp’s products I fish it more.
You demonstrated exactly why using high priced lures can be very expensive. Last year I tied on $12 Yozuri just because there were tons of Blue-Fish and Spanish feeding in the surf. Anything shiny would catch them, but no, I had to use the 12 buck lure without wire because that was too much trouble. Of course, I got cut off and that was not the first time I’ve done that. I try to be more careful these days. Fishing is expensive enough without donating 30 bucks worth of lures to the mix.
I find the doa outperforms gulp with speckled trout but specks will hit just about anything that falls in front of them. The gulp works better on flounder in my experience.
I like Vudu shrimp but they get tore up easy and are expensive. I mainly use DOA shrimp, cheap and work well. Gulp attract too many trash fish in my area. Never tried Live Target.
I wonder how the Live Target shrimp would have done better with some Dr Juice or ProCure? When I use scent with Z Man soft plastics they get almost as many bites as Gulp but Z Man lasts far longer obviously.
i love gulp over live target, gulp is so easy i put it under a bobber for my 6 year old and caught about 10 fish in a 15 min window just still fishing. You basically have to put the live target dead in the middle of a school to get any production from them,
If the live target shrimp had scent it would probably be absolutely killer, it looks so real and it's going the right direction for a fleeing shrimp. It looks perfect for tripletail.
Great video Luke, I would much prefer you dry the gulp out completely and do the test against a fresh gulp. Fish like Gulp still or very slow on the bottom, swimmed I am not so sure it would matter much ?
A bud of mine and myself did a Live Target vs. Gulp Shrimp test and the Gulp ended up out performing the Live Target. That said, it wasn't nearly as structured as your test.
Live Target is very nice looking, I have one but it isn't near worth the price. They sell them in 2 pack HOWEVER they only give you one proprietary jig head. So you actually get 1 full lure and the body of another. Problem is if you loose the lure like Luke did here you cannot use the spare body. I contacted Live Target about this problem and they do not sell the proprietary jig head by itself. Again, love the way they look...I just will not buy another one.
to me even though it sounds funny i think its about confidence of what your using...i use all three live..gulp..and imatation..but if you dont have trust then neither will work at any given time..and thats when the 10/90 rule comes into effect..just saying🤣👍
Live Target didn't work well for me this past season. Its expensive for 1+ spare body. I've seen fish follow it when im reeling in but they don't strike .Expensive ($10) and doesn't work well.
The gulp shrimp is rigged with it's feet side down as it technically should be... their new penny color pattern has the lighter side up and the dark side down.
@@Twilk94 - I am, but it’s wrong if you’re talking about whether or not the fish are there. It should be stated as “...10% of the area holds fish that are feeding.”

What if you put the live target shrimp in the gulp shrimp liquid sent stuff?
Good to know. I like these videos of you trying similar baits against one another. It would be cool if you had a tally on the top of the screen.

We'll have to add this to our future tests!

Thanks for watching!
They are scented. The LT Fleeing Shrimp has a very convincing shrimp scent. At least, the ones at my local Bass Pro, do!
just put dr juice all over it
@@negativegaming1337 gulp spray or dr juice all over it
Have caught snook on the live target before, just not heavy enough on strong current.
I personally in Texas use Tsunami Shrimp..They are awesome for Trouts..
What are the outfits used in this video
I don’t know what it is but in my area I neeeevvveeerr catch with gulp . But unscented I’ll get on them

When a Gulp is completely dry, it shrivels down to a tiny version of itself that's rock hard, so it would definitely not be good for fishing.

Caught my first 20" black drum in flamingo on Saturday. I caught two back to back.
Lol my first black drum out of flamingo the previous weekend. Grats. They certainly pull hard.
Nice, congrats! Hopefully the first of many more to come.
Could you guys try AM fishing lures
Where do you fish out of
I wonder how much of a difference color makes.
What brand rods
chase prawn vs Unfair shrimp next. Both with Pro-cure
those chase shrimp are expensive! they look good though.

What rods are you using ?
Gets my OCD watching you switch hands twice and close the bail on each cast.💁🏽♂️😂
Yall should do unfair shrimp vs live target
Need to try a vudu shrimp vs doa shrimp vs gulp Challenge
Looks like if you want to catch jacks, use the live target! 😂
But how do you know the secret isn't the blue tape?
Haha!!!
The gulp shrimp is on upside down dark colour should be on top
Come on the blue tape is a clear advantage

If you are getting follows but no strikes then it’s your presentation, line, speed of reeling, how your twitching it, ETC
You didnt finish x rap subwalk vs mirrodine
I’ll take scent vs sight most every time. Speckled trout are often more sight specific but I feel most other fish prefer scent.
Isn't the Gulp rigged upside down?

@@Saltstrong Got it.
Always hooking fish when you're messing with your trolling motor. 😁
My vote...used both Gulp 4 to 1 over live target shrimp.
The secret to fishing is to fish where the fish are...
The fish are there... whether you are catching them or not, the fish are there.

Trout will hit it cause its moving... might have to add some scent for reds
gulp forever
