I bought this game as a Christmas gift on a whim for my son, not knowing anything about it, as I couldn't find the game I was initially looking for. After watching this, I'm glad, this looks fun as hell! I'm sure he'll enjoy it Christmas morning.

Then I bought a Vita and it was already installed on there so I gave it a try, and it was really fun - naturally the PC version would be better so I tried that out and it IS awesome.
+aXque Vive focuses on it's dual controller operation. Most likely it will come out on vive with controller support but with my experience with vive/oculus, oculus feels much more comfortable when it comes to cockpit ready games.
Not your usual (arcade) racing game! I played trackmania over a decade ago, and I remembered it being a unique and fun game. When I first played the new versions of trackmania, last year, I found them annoying, irritating, but with something nice about them. I played again when turbo was free in PS+ and I learned how to appreciate the game. It happened because I already knew that this wasn't an easy racing, an usual arcade, or a lap racing game, it has another purpose! It's about perfection (but not realism), and controlling your emotions - seriously, repeating the same thing every ten seconds can be really annoying. Plus, I'm having a lot of fun making custom maps that are easier (and are actual races, like those with laps in the game) to couch play! I guess what I wanted to say is that this is a unique game, and it can be terrible for some, great for others, or just vanilla, depends on what you want from the game. If you're open minded or like challenges and have an old arcade game nostalgia, have fun! (:

So many hours spent getting Gold times on every track. Lots of patience, some fits of anger, and lots of repetition just to get each track just right. Most importantly it's lots of fun!

I've always scrolled past IGN reviews, half expected them to review the free trial like half the others here but this was a surprisingly intuitive take and has made up my mind on buying the game thanks guys :D
@Peter Alexander it is offline playable, my two cents is that the learning curve can get pretty steep once you get to the later stages (red + black series). the game explains it pretty well: easy to pick up, hard to master. takes a lot of time to perfect runs but it's still a fun game
To me, as a former trackmania player < heck even my yt image shows a car from TM forever, this was a bit disappointing. But then again it could be just me. I liked the graphics, the four game modes, the easy to figure out-hard to master handling, and I liked that it is actually possible to race split screen with collisions ON. Now for the bad side. I hate when features that existed in previous installments get removed.. you can no longer have custom vehicle models, and also can no longer paint the car on your own, instead you get to unlock liveries as you earn gold medals. Hotseat mode which was my fave to play with my friends, got butchered. You can no longer set it up, all you can do is choose the mode (regular or double driver) a track, and a number of players. That's it. No longer can you pick players through profiles and have them race with THEIR vehicles, it's always like this: player #1 is blue, player #2 is red, Player #3 is green and so on.. you can't even choose a COLOR at least.. if you're playing 2 players, you'll always be red and blue - and blue will always go first. Secondly, you can't choose the race type, like "timed" or "tries". It's set to "timed" always, thanks for taking that freedom of choice away. And last but not least, if you wanted an 8 player race, you can only see ~4 ghosts at the time. I looked the config file and couldn't change that value, like i could in previous installments, but that's just sad. Aside from all that, it's just regular trackmania. Would only recommend it to those looking for multiplayer races.
Occasionally frustrating you say. Haha, you've never made it too the black series I see. This is the Cuphead of driving games!! You have to gold medal everything to unlock the black series.and once there, the courses are so challenging you might spend a whole week just mastering one course.
I can see that most people forgot that many tracks in the solo campaign of Trackmania Turbo are the same. As in Trackmania 2 Canyon,Trackmania 2 Valley and Trackmania 2 Stadium. Just with some new parts. And only beach is a new environment.
It's a shame the absolutely fantastic Hot Seat mode + random track generator aren't mentioned in this review. This combination is the most fun I've had on a console in years.
I waaaaaant, but I bought the last iteration and never played it. I'll wait for this to go on sale, biggest selling point is the more couch coop friendly features they've added as well as proper controller support.
I think someone needs to make a Star Wars Pod Racing Game for Oculus Rift.. I always wondered what it would be like to actually be In a pod to race for so many years and would just love the hell out of that game
I'm not sure why the steam reviews for this are so mixed. I've played all environments of trackmania 2 and can say that Turbo is the most polished version. They must have improved the track browser because its pretty easy to download new tracks to play from the community as well. Plus the local multiplayer support is much improved from previous games which is what I primarily do Trackmania for.
This game honestly looks fun as heck. I'll probably wait until it's sub $30 but I'm sure it's worth full price, I just doubt I'd be able to dedicate much time to it right away.
Can I just say that I have seen no promotion for this game nor did I hear about it until me trying to search for a game like this. Single player, multiplayer with online AND coop, and a creator mode. These sort of games are the ones I want, not these new games that are entire run through servers or you have to have two copies to play with a friend.

+Majesto Music you can play on longer courses. For example you make a map with 100 laps to reach the finish, and each lap has 1 minute, so you will spend 100 minutes to finish it :D but no one will ever do that, because it's boring. The maps in pro competitions have ~1minute, but i can tell you that for me it's already long, because the game requires a lot of concentration, and mine drains to 0 after 45 seconds))
Isn't this an Ubisoft game? Wow. They released Far Cry Primal and not long after, the Division and not long after that, this. But this looks like a lot of fun! I could see myself getting into this. I always liked the levels in Mario Kart that looks crazy. I find those the most fun for me. I gotta pick this up, at one point.

You can actually race ppl. You have to filter the options. Highlight, LAPS, RACES, then SHORT, NORMAL , LONG , MULIT- LAP. most races last about 30sec to maybe a minute and a half
The game is excellent but the difficulty level is way high and it won't let you progress unless you get enough silver and gold medals which is frustrating and bullshit. I'm pissed off and I got this game as part of the Gold Membership.

I remember playing Track Mania Nations on the school computers. Such a fun game.

this game is pure time attack only. you will see other players but never race themhead to head its all about who has the best time on each course

The demo was mad fun. In the 1 hour trial you can do 10 time attack online since each of them are 10min long that's 10 tracks lol

Trackmania is like this since 2003, It's not a Flatout or Burnout, is a completely diferent type of game.
