Thanks for taking the time to try it out and demo it. Great to hear the sounds you've been making with it and we look forward to hearing what others will create with it!
I just wanted to say thanks for making the Cali67 Compact Bass pedal! By far the best compressor I've ever used in a pedal format and I sing its praises as much as I can!
Im just starting to build a bass board after 6 years of building a guitar board. I purchased the Cali76 Compact Bass and that pedal is PHENOMENAL! Sounds incredible, the build quality is second to none, and the design of the trade dress is sleek, elegant, and beautiful. Just a wonderful creation all around. Im definitely going to get a BassRig next for my bass board build. Going to start with the Super Vintage, but i really want both. Lol. Thanks for doing what u do.
I prefer the Fender. ( no comparison - for me ). Ampeg always has a pronounced: high-mid-range to me. I like a more round bass sound. Nice Demo guys. Enjoyed it.
I already did one gig with no amp and I am getting more and more interested in this option. These pedals seem like very practical tools for no-amp gig.
Great video! Please make another one doing exact that comparisson that you mention at the end. Mike the cabinets and compare the real SVTs with de Super Vintage using the poweramp of the Bergantino or maybe a Aguilar Tone Hammer Amp. Just an idea. Thank you
Just bought a super vintage and I couldn't be happier. Sounds awesome in every way! The only thing I wish is that you could use super bright and bass cut at the same time. Now I want the Bassman one as well!
Thank you for the well done and honest review. I'm looking forward to checking out the Super Vintage. Like you, I had, and stupidly sold the Cali76-TX as well. Cheers!
Don't worry, I'm completely the same. I play an SVT VR and still I'm considering this pedal. Simply, because I can't push the VR into break up territory without being pulverized by it.
Got to stick with the same bass guitar when A/B’ing. Then maybe switch to another and A/B that. It’s a super quality video and very easy to understand, but you must stick to one bass through both, and then show however many you want, as long as they are played through both sequentially.
Thank you for this and all your videos!! For future ideas, several years ago you demonstrated the Offset by Pure Tone Amps, but I wonder if they could send you a Nautilus to review! Especially appreciate your review the bigger budget items as I greatly value your opinion! 🌅
They are awesome but also very expensive. That's why I run my bass thru a Tumnus Deluxe pedal for the grit tube sounds. I recommend every bass player to try it out.
I am going to buy one of these. I already have an Ampeg PF-20T so was thinking it might make more sense to buy the 64. I was after Michael Shuman’s sound from QOTSA, I think he uses a Fender Bassman?
another epic content as always. I am currently using a black edition DCX Bass in EQ mode as a tone shaper with my Darkglass Alpha Omega Photon. Now, I'm just waiting for my OE Bass Rig 64 Black to arrive to add to my minimalist fly rig. I plan to place the Bass Rig at the end of the chain (EBMM Stingray 4 > DCX Bass > DG Alpha Omega Photon > 64 Black). I intend to use the DCX Bass as a boost or for my clean tone, and have my Darkglass drive the Bass Rig. Considering that they are all preamps, would it be too much to have three preamps on one board? If you can please create a content stacking pre amps like origin with darkglass would be killer.
I’ve never used a preamp/di pedal, does it need to be at the end of thesignal chain to work with other effects when the di is plugged? Or do the effects still affect the di signal even if theyre placed after in the signal chain?
I just wonder why there's no Ultra Low switch on the Super Vintage. I'm not complaining, I'm just curious. Other than that: Which one should I get, aaaargh?!?!
I couldn’t decide on which one to get either. I ended up grabbing the Super Vintage first, and if it’s as good as I hope it is, I’ll buy the Black Label too.
In most recording and live situations, a low cut is more useful than a low boost. Since they could only fit two 3-position switches in the main EQ section, I can see why Origin may have opted for low cut over the Ultra Low.
Hi BassTheWorld, these Origin Bassrigs caught my attention. I often plug directly in the PA and looking for some help with presence. My style is mostly jazzy, fretless hail Jaco, and sometimes with acoustic bass guitars. With which one of the two bassrigs will I get happier you think?
Hello Gregor just a question if i purchase a origine bass rig the blue one will the origin D C X tone shaper go good together Please let me know thanks Joe Romano
Can I use one of these and split the signal to two different amps? Say, one line going through the rest of the pedalboard and another line to a separate dry amp?
So... usecase? If anyone can at least explain to me one scnario where that DI CAB SIM switch would be of any help at all give me a heads up. This would always want to be on the FX+Bypass setting. Why would I want to turn off my overdrive and have my cab just die? Why is noone talking about this? Why would I need any of these features anyway. Is this assuming I do not have an actual amp? Why would I want to have an amp output on there? Theres literally no standalone Bass poweramps on the market. Is this assuming I skip the preamp section of my amp completely because the 3 dial pedal EQ sounds so much better? As if. Is this assuming I just run this into the PA directly? Why wouldnt i just get an actual preamp with more than 3 knobs and one input then? This is basically an overengineered drive pedal for double or quadruple the price one of these should cost.
Some people may very well want to only have the cab sim on with the drive sound because DI drive sounds are often not great. Also, you could have a super modern amp like a Darkglass or GK, but need an old school sound for certain situations. It would be ideal to run it into the fx return of those amps to get the sounds you're looking for. Its really not a matter of what sounds "better" so much as it is having a particular sound and eq behavior. If it's not for you, it's all good, but that doesn't mean it wont work for others 🤙🏽. Now, that said, it is very expensive lol 🤣.
"Theres literally no standalone Bass poweramps on the market." - Check out Jule Amps power amps, GSS's Sumo and Baby Sumo, the Jad Freer Audio Coda, just off the top of my head.
Nothing I've yet heard, and that's a lot, tops the Effectrode Blackbird. Counting tube swapping, there are over 100 REAL tube options of sound, all of them The Real Deal.
Thanks for taking the time to try it out and demo it. Great to hear the sounds you've been making with it and we look forward to hearing what others will create with it!

Now let’s see one for the B-15, and I’m buying!
I already did one gig with no amp and I am getting more and more interested in this option. These pedals seem like very practical tools for no-amp gig.
The Black/Fender version was more to my liking, very interesting!
Great video! Please make another one doing exact that comparisson that you mention at the end. Mike the cabinets and compare the real SVTs with de Super Vintage using the poweramp of the Bergantino or maybe a Aguilar Tone Hammer Amp. Just an idea. Thank you
this first beautiful one using the 64 is so beautiful♥️
Just bought a super vintage and I couldn't be happier. Sounds awesome in every way! The only thing I wish is that you could use super bright and bass cut at the same time. Now I want the Bassman one as well!

I wonder how Super Vintage compares to Tech21 VT Bass DI (which has been my main recording tool for many years)
Oh my god, thank you for using the sbv-500, especially with the super vintage!:D
4:22 - Listening to this reminded me that I've got 2 StingRays, which is at least one too few.
Thanks Gregor 🎸🎸👍🎶🎵
That bass player gets a like from me
Good review. Now I need both pedals. Thank you.😅
Love your videos Gregor
Great sounds. Ampeg will be delighted it costs 3/4 of a real portaflex 20t head!
The Portaflex and the SVT are different beasts. also, carrying a PF-20T to a gig would be a pain in the ass.
I dont even know why I think about SVT pedals when I have an SVT. Somethings wrong with me...
Don't worry, I'm completely the same. I play an SVT VR and still I'm considering this pedal. Simply, because I can't push the VR into break up territory without being pulverized by it.
Not able to compare when everytime you switched pedals also switched bass 😅
That opening muted riff was definitely borrowed from Chris Wood of MMW. Well played by Phil here.
Great review!
Appreciate the demo. Can't buy $500 pedals.
I’m curious on how the black panel sounds with guitar since it’s a Bassman. An amp designed for bass, but became one of the most iconic guitar amps.
I've been using the black panel with guitar and love it
I would like to see a match up with the tech 21 VT bass DI ( which I own )before I would chase my tail and throw down some big money on this pedal

Very good job. Thanks
I know this bass player plays Hofners. Would have been nice to hear the pedals with a Hofner.
As always, you guys do the best reviews of new gear, and I am definitely going to buy the black panel one. Thanks!
Had to google these, they aren’t out yet!
Came out today

Any chance to find a transcript of the first play? 0:15
Really just ok. Nothing beats the real thing.
Sweet!
Take my money!
A bunch of tiny cute little ones ? 😅🥰 3:09

can anyone recommend a good poweramp that doesn‘t cost a fortune, is light in weight and interacts good with pedals like this?
Eat your Heart out, Darkglass!! There's a New Wave in town...
I just wonder why there's no Ultra Low switch on the Super Vintage. I'm not complaining, I'm just curious. Other than that: Which one should I get, aaaargh?!?!

@@doingittodeath3858 I did it the other way around. I got the '64 and will eventually also get the SV.

Came here to check out the pedals but fell in love with that blue "deformed horn" bass. What kind is she?
That’s a Yamaha SBV-500
1:10-1:30 😍

The black one

Yes absolutely. The DCX into the BassRig pedal is a killer setup!
Can I use one of these and split the signal to two different amps? Say, one line going through the rest of the pedalboard and another line to a separate dry amp?
Lehle!
"tube amp" in a pedal for the price... of a tube amp. ok :D
Great demo as usual Gregor! Sorry, but what bass at 1:10?
Yamaha SBV
What is that blue bass???
Yamaha SBV-500
Super Vintage is more aggressive, 64 Black Panel is for me, old Fender sound
Wat is this blue bass? beautiful
Yamaha SBV-500
Saw another review and concluded I have no desire for these at all. Now I need both. My wallet is not impressed.
Are the name Kligor and Phil. I have followed his videos past 5 or 6 years but never got his name hahahaha
GREGOR
💙👊😎

Still not clear about the difference between the two pedals…
One is based around the Fender Showman/Bassman. One is an Ampeg SVT. The feature set is similar, but very different flavours of bass amp.
🤣
Different "colours" 😊
No d.i. volume.. that's a shame
You forgot to try it through the power amp section (effects return) and a real speaker. 🥲
