I like how this may be a nod to F91 ending quote in the movie.
Iron Mask: "Char Aznable! So you don't approve of my mask, either?!"
Yeah dude knows what he's supposed to be fighting for
Iron Mask although brief is an underutilised villian that when used correctly.... can be even worse than any of the Zabis, remnants of Old Zeon, corrupt Federation, Neo Zeon and evil clones that came before him.
He represents the very worst in humanity, seeks to reduce numbers and establish himself as king.
To Kamille he is a worser Scirocco, to Judau he is a much worser Haman, to Char he represents his ideals morally corrupted and to Amuro... a living nightmare which thankfully he was put down by Seabook because again a underutilised protagonist from a cancelled series/movie.
All I'm saying is... expect a future game to have a much better F91 story.
One thing to note is that Haman and Char is not pretty corrupted as an antagonist
Haman dropped a colony on Dublin, Char nearly dropped a colony on the Planet... that's corrupt
Heck at this point, I wouldn't mind Haman come back as a plot point because her Quebely was actually good.

I feel like the Lelouch vs Iron Mask angle was horribly missed by the devs, as Code Geass has thematically more in common with Gundam than any of the Super Robot shows or Cross Ange. While Buddy Complex at least could've had Suzaku coming to terms with how similar he was in his blind hatred of Lelouch to Evgeni and his raging hateboner for Aoba and Hina, and how he could very well have become just like him had things gone differently.
Both Lelouch and Iron Mask sought to better humanity by putting on personas, with Lelouch failing horribly due to his own arrogance and pride crippling the trust his subordinates had in him before he finally went 'screw it' and decided to become almost cartoonishly evil just to unite the world against a common foe to at least wear down mankind's ability and desire to make war. But he still had the best interests of those he cared about in mind, even if his Requiem left them hurting even more than just about any other action he could've taken.
While Iron Mask was just kind of a massive douchebag who wanted to kill everyone he viewed as unworthy of living in *his* world.
Even with all of his faults, Lelouch was still a far better human being than Iron Mask ever could hope to be.
But I guess they had to balance out the teams and thus CG was tacked onto the A route as a bit of an afterthought.
Oh well.

That SR point jingle was very welled timed.
The fact that Iron Mask is only fought this one time makes Gundam F91 feel even more shoehorned into Super Robot Wars X.
SRW X would've been more interesting had Al-Warth been the sideshow that was barely mentioned honestly. And instead focused on characters from it being dumped into the World of Peace, War, and Revolution per Embyro's or the Keeper's meddling.
I dunno, having X rehash the same world hopping theme that V and the Z saga had going on would definitely be lazy (Yes, laziness in an SRW, crazy I know), so focusing entirely on Al-Warth instead of doing any world hopping save for visiting the protagonists' Earth for two stages was definitely a breath of fresh air imo
True, but there were certain elements of the plot that could've been handled better anyways, for example the CG and Wing Characters seemed almost tacked on most of the time, so much could've been done with Lelouch and co had they been assigned to the B routing, same with F91, Iron Mask while a minor character is pretty much the anathema to numerous members of the cast, and Tobias's mere presence is just... Totally unnecessary beyond the Crossbone-F91 link references, Banagher could've have had the same effect honestly, potentially with more impact on Char given we could've had another meeting of the Red Comets with Full Frontal and the Sleeves backing up the Towasangan or GI-T troops.
And as for the A routing, this is where I unironically view SEED as working better than Code Geass in all respects, even if just for the Fukuda work references.
They focused almost entirely on Doakdar, Nadia and Buddy Complex for the key writing so far and the rest of the plot kinda suffers for it. Plus I can understand why Joe the Ace hated the term justice now, Zero got away with it because he was Lelouch putting on an act about it, plus CG is shades of grey, but it gets tiring to constantly hear Maito go on about justice when it has no set definition, Lelouch's idea of justice is certainly different from the Brave Express Corps after all as CG episode 9 showed quite blatantly with criminals being executed by the Black Knights and hung from streetlamps, something I doubt Maito would approve of. Which honestly could've been played with more as other people's ideas of justice, notably Ange's, conflict with his own.
SRW X feels like kind of a decrease in plot quality after what V pulled off, with everything seeming to be kind of inferior except the OG plotline, and the plots for the freshly introduced series.
And while I know this is gonna be kinda controversial, I feel like SRW is getting stagnant not because of them reusing overarching thematic things, but because the battles never increase in scale once you get all your main cast together, you have massive shiploads of mecha but only use up to half of them regardless of whether its the main line or a route, the final battles and major arc battles should be every pilot on hand in the field, which an appropriate amount of enemies to match, it would provide more incentive to use otherwise ignored characters and level them up.
But these are just my opinions.

I just treat this as like watching the final episode of Gundam Build Fighters TRY.
Heck even Meijin is there.
And thus, Carozzo "Iron Mash" Ronah ends his long absence by becoming the final Gundam enemy. Nice. Still stinks that only the UC/Reconguista people had pre-battle dialogue with him. It kind of drives home the disconnect between the people on this route.
