Faculties are recruited through similar recruitment process for all the campuses. They have similar qualifications and similar salaries being paid to them. So no difference there. I'll leave it upto you to decide what's overrated or what's superb ;)

Yesterday, a junior had asked me whether or not VIT allows IT students in companies like Amazon, Paypal, etc. I had checked and found out that they were allowed in those companies in 2020. And I have not checked the fees for the two branches so I'm not really sure why VIT would keep a difference between the two when both of them have similar scope as per my understanding and knowledge.
There is literally no company that comes in Vellore and says, we want only CSE and not IT. Infact few companies discount specialisations sometimes, but allow IT (very rare). Ngl earlier there used to be American Express that said it needs only CSE students, but now, every company allows IT, including American Express.

I can advise u one thing for sure that is always go by course and not campus cuz campus is gonna be for 5 yrs whereas the course will stay with you forever. Take this business analytics course only if are interested in it ,don't go for it without any interest cuz u will have to suffer a lot later .u may regret later which will spoil your career so take a wise decision. Any help I would love to help .

I believe everybody who applies for placements gets an offer. Packages can definitely differ from 3.36 lpa (TCS) to as high as 50 lpa in some companies. And if you're taking CSE, then you don't need to worry even for a second about placements. You will get good package for sure.

Rules are almost the same for both the campuses. Don't overstress on the rules. Rules are everywhere but you can get around them if you are smart enough!
I think I have covered all the points about the Chennai campus that are required to make a decision. However, I can't give a final verdict because that is for you to decide. I can suggest one thing though. Make a table with two columns- VIT Chennai and VIT Vellore, and write down all the differences between them that you can figure out and try making your decision then, it should get little easier. @@nimit5557 According to my rank(which was very bad xD), I was getting civil in category 1 in Chennai and civil in category 2 in Vellore and I chose VIT Chennai. I don't think there is even a single thing that I regret about my decision. But then individual experiences can differ, I am speaking only for myself.

In specialization, you have to study a few extra subjects related to your specialization. There is no difference in placements or future opportunities. Although if you're applying to a particular MS course and your specialization is also the same then you'll have a good impression on the selection committee but then CSE core students also have equal chances, they can do a few extra courses anytime.

If you're interested in CSE, give it your first priority irrespective of the campus. If branch is not your priority, then go with ECE. There wasn't any difference in opportunities provided to CSE students in Chennai campus and Vellore campus in our batch if that is your concern. All the best!

Not very sure about placements in core, very few companies actually. But you will be eligible to grab offers in other domains at good packages.

VIT CSE is best after BITS among private colleges.

Rules are almost the same for both the campuses. Don't overstress on the rules. Rules are everywhere but you can get around them if you are smart enough!
Should I choose vit vellore cse cat 3 i.e 4 lakh per yr or cse at Chennai in cat 2 i.e 3 lakh per yr

I think I have covered all the points about the Chennai campus that are required to make a decision. However, I can't give a final verdict because that is for you to decide.
I can suggest one thing though. Make a table with two columns- VIT Chennai and VIT Vellore, and write down all the differences between them that you can figure out and try making your decision then, it should get little easier.

@@nimit5557 According to my rank(which was very bad xD), I was getting civil in category 1 in Chennai and civil in category 2 in Vellore and I chose VIT Chennai. I don't think there is even a single thing that I regret about my decision.
But then individual experiences can differ, I am speaking only for myself.

What happens in specialized course with CSE ? I have 2k rank in viteee and intend to take pure CSE ..what's difference between both
In specialised, the degree can be easily used to get a masters degree abroad. But in core, it doesn't get any special privileges.

In specialization, you have to study a few extra subjects related to your specialization. There is no difference in placements or future opportunities. Although if you're applying to a particular MS course and your specialization is also the same then you'll have a good impression on the selection committee but then CSE core students also have equal chances, they can do a few extra courses anytime.

Yes you can change Department but there's is possible to choose subjects in ECE and CSE. Only few subjects are different.

Don't be worried. You will get opportunities in both core and software domain. If you learn coding, you can get packages at par with CSE students.

If you're interested in CSE, give it your first priority irrespective of the campus. If branch is not your priority, then go with ECE.
There wasn't any difference in opportunities provided to CSE students in Chennai campus and Vellore campus in our batch if that is your concern.

Good or bad will vary from person to person and on the experiences they had. All my friends who were in ECE are doing good career wise. So I would say it's good. You get opportunities in core as well as software domains.
