  • The first episode of PowerDrift’s new series #TheBucketList posed a lot of questions about how to go about touring, especially when the goal is to go a long distance in a day. Shumi goes live to break it down into a process we use to make it simple and as efficient as possible. Welcome to PowerDrift Live!

He is so inspiring ❤️ ... I have done 550 kms twice in a day in my TVS Apache 160 4V 😀 ... In 2nd trip, it was raining almost for 300 kms during a partial lockdown ... It was the best journey in my life

Thanks a lot shumi for this goldmine of a session..I was in to long distance biking in 2005-2008..and cd100 was my bike. But in those days cars were not so powerful. Those were days when you could really enjoy a good ride as bike touring was not a common thing.

Going through the video for the nth time. Every time its imparts a new confidence. Looking back, we did Delhi - Udhampur (approx. 750kms) on tbe first day of our Ladhak ride and Manali to Delhi (600 kms) on the last day of the same trip on CBR250, Duke 200 and Pulsar 220. It was exhausting but was exciting.

My father is a huge fan of driving, we've done 1000-1800 km drives several times and the only debate we have throughout the drive is he drives similar to what your driving style is and I drive similar to what Akshay's is and listening to your reasons of why you drive that way literally felt as if it's my dad and you are in on the script lmao

Hey you folks make great videos. I'm having trouble finding any answers on a coupla topics :
    - The best bike for hill life... Say if I'm based in the Himalayas, not the plains. Typically - lots of cornering, very little high speed riding, lots of bad roads on incline/decline, high altitude, low temps, rain snow and sleet, rare servicing.
    - The best bike for 2-person touring in the hills... Say if me and a friend (with combined weight of ~150kg) go trekking and bike to the basecamp, with a coupla rucksacks of 30kg/60L each. Again, the points above will mostly apply. But pillion comfort, luggage mounting options and infrequent low-speed falls also to be considered.
    What would you recommend?

I have done 135km stretch rides either from home to work or work to home in different motorcycle like Himalayan, fz, classic 350, ns 200, mt15, and Yamaha libero g5 and these bikes has different performance comfort etc... and i find the 106 cc libero g5 gave me most comfortable riding posture and seating comfort considering others. While Himalayan gave best pillion comfort and cursing speed at highway are better because of suspension wind shield etc.. and was thrilled by performance of mt15 and ns200, while 350 and fz are better at low at speeds (40 to 60) in highways (note the point highways out here are not super as like in another's States ,but somehow we are adjusted to the scenarios). So it doesn't actually matter the cc of bike every time all matter how experience are u with bikes mind and body and how well u have planned and packed is your long distance touring. #Enjoy the ride rather than rushing in to redlines. Find #your comfort zone in budget, health, food, packaging the stuff, speeds, company's (friends or group) stops or refreshments backup plans service and maintenance, route time etc... All matter is the #attitude what you want and how do you #behaves to achieve the goal. Be a #passionate, #responsible, #productive and #socially wellbeing human and a rider.#Learn everytime when you are on a motorcycle, because each time these #lovely mechines teaches the perceptive of beautiful world and human out here in different angles when roads hits you . Onces paradise is where he is and it is achieved just by working towards ur aim through behaving yourself. At the end #memories is are left for you.
If my word's or views are wrong #forgave me.
#Hope everyone is doing well #stayhome #stayhealthy .Hope for fast cure in covid19 pandemic.

I too don't waste time on luxurious foods, I just get a roti with daal or boiled eggs with coffee rather than having maggie or momos or any fast food as it makes me feel heavy on stomach while riding...
Only once I had red bull twice as I had a long stech of 900+km from Srinagar to Noida which consist 300km of mountainous curves roads which took around 8 hours to get over then remaining 600km I did in 12 hours that day I didn't had any food other than what I had at breakfast because it would make me feel sleepy so I only took liquid diet such as coffee or tea with biscuits and redbull

How do you clean & lube the bike chain on a very long multi day ride without a main stand. Specially on a heavy adventure bike. For home based I know the paddock setup works. But on a long ride when on the go? Any hacks there? I think Bret Tcaks had once mentioned a single side rudimentary stand which props it up via the paddock bobbin but keen to hear how you might address this. Thank you.
