Never heard of the comic until I saw some random vid....I'm assuming whoever is in charge of the comic and the writer for it are trying to grow their skills in story telling and are purely doing this as a job, greed is something we will never escape, I'll just shake my head and move on

She's experienced even if it's with 1 foot she can just cover herself with walker guts, but it would've made more sense that she saw someone in the woods and that's why she told AJ to stop following her and wants to find that person and to make sure it's not a raider.
This comic pretty much makes everything that happened at the ranch non-existent claim should have never went and risked her life to find AJ if she was just gonna leave him there it's absolutely makes NO SENSE within the lore and I hate that Tillie girl for it man it sucks to say but she ruined it COMPLETELY
The whole Clementine not being happy thing doesn't make sense. She has AJ and Louis or Vi depending on how you chose assuming AJ shot Tennessee. Even with her foot missing at the end of the last season she was still hopeful. That's not Clementine.
They could have made a comic about the 400 days group... They could have made a comic about the 3 months between A New Day and Starved for Help... They could have made a comic about the 16 months Clementine spent with Christa... LITERALLY anything else. So much untapped potential that doesn't ruin the ending
They could've done a comic about Clementine's time-span as part of The New Frontier, and get an answer as to what AJ got sick with, even see a little bit more of nuance with David's character.
We would have season 7 by now of walking dead if telltale only focused on Clementine and not continuously bought unnecessary expensive ips and those games never worked out.

Clementine wasn't supposed to get her leg cut off. If telltale only focused on walking dead and not wasted all their money on multiple ips, we would have season 7 by now of walking dead. The final season was supposed to have multiple endings and the last 2 episode were supposed to be longer and more detailed but due to problems in development and nobody wanted her to die but there are also some people who wanted her to die so they cut off her leg. In order to give her a proper continuation they should show how Clementine didn't get her leg cut off, and the hat belongs to her.

They literally could have saved the story by just saying, “Clementine was feeling sad and wanted some alone time and got kidnapped by the raiders who took Minnie and Sophie and brought back to her base. She escapes and now she has to get back home,” and have the story literally just be about her travels as she tries to get back to AJ. Instead, they try to convince us to do mental gymnastics to get us to believe that she would abandon AJ, a safe home she literally gave her leg to defend, the other kids, etc. because she’s sad.

I blame Tillie Walden and the season 5 fans for this mess. I blame Tillie for her terrible writing and I blame the fans for even wanting and constantly asking for a continuation of Clem’s story in the first place. Since she got her happy ending that we all wanted.
It wasn't a finished story. Clementine story wasn't supposed to end but due to telltale facing financial issues their games weren't selling that much at the time so they expected the same for a new walking dead clementine game so they decided to end it. The final season ending is the darkest out of all seasons if you really understand the ending.

I'm not even mad that Clem leaves the school as it's tough to continue that storyline from the Final Season since people got different endings depending on their choices, but leaving AJ and trying to leave without even telling him is what's completely out of character.
They should go with the happiest ending with Tenn dead as he was really unsuitable and useless, Tenn put people at risk a lot of times his death should be canon.

Clementine is my favorite video game character of all time! She wouldn’t abandon her newfound family after everything she’s been through! She spent a whole game looking for AJ. And she still thinks about Lee after only spending a few months with him. This is wrong!

In the ending of take us back AJ wasn't willing to wear Clementine's hat, it was just to show that they are no longer capable of making another walking dead game as they spent all their budget onto unnecessary things. Now skybound have realised that Clementine is their only main source of income they should continue the seasons.
I played the first season 3 months ago, finished everything a month ago. The game is so interesting. The fact I shed tears at the end of the first season and last season shows how they captured good characters.

Her arc is over. She was in the same situation as Lee and came full circle, but survived where he could't. The hole point is that she honored his memory, became a mentor/leader figure to the community instead of a fighter just like Rick after the war with Negan. Giving her a leg, leave to find other people and abandon AJ like he was some liabillity is dishonoring Telltale itself.

Maybe take the average of people’s choices from the game. Let’s say 77% of people romanced Violet. (This isn’t correct probably but just as an example.) then let’s say that the other 23% romanced Louis. The writer could have made a determinant plot based off the average of people’s decisions. What about a choose your own adventure-ish beginning that sets a page number to go to based off decisions and then the plot carries out like a normal book from there? How bout anything that makes sense? They can’t just say she’s “unhappy” and not tell us why. I don’t mean to rant but it’s kind of important to the community of the people that love the game and it’s franchise here!
16:36, towards the bottom of the page "Still not bitten... not even close." She was literally bitten in TFS. It's why she lost her leg. AJ made the call to cut off her foot and save her life. That's kinda a key story moment where it all comes full circle. I get what they're trying to do, but its symptomatic of them not really understanding the story. Clementine is fundementally different after TFS.
Clementine is a character who’s personality is heavily impacted by player decisions. That said she has core personality traits that do not change no matter what her character does. There is no way to make a comic series about a character like this that won’t piss them off even if they didn’t completely ruin her happy ending and for no apparent reason.
It’s obvious that Clementine would never abandon AJ even if it was the other way around and he was the one who wanted to leave. If the story continued I’m 100% sure Clem would’ve died if their home was attacked because she wouldn’t be able to escape and this scenario of them going their separate way would make more sense if she needed to sacrifice herself for AJ to successfully run away.
No one (that i have seen) has brought up the fact that as Clementine leaves the school (in the comic) 10:35 SHE'S SMILING What Is Tillie Doing!? Why on God's Green Earth would Clementine be happy leaving the school and AJ behind?

I recently played the Definitive Series for the first time with my prior experience being S1 and S2 when they originally released and i can confidently say Clem would never leave AJ especially after all the bs she had to endure to find him at the ranch. They should of just continued with the cliffhanger from ep 4 of the final season with that caravan and built off of that.

I discovered this series back in 2018. I was going through a tough time, depressed and alone. I quickly fell in love with the characters, the world, and especially Clem and Lee. This series almost singlehandedly (with a little help from Detroit: Become Human) helped me cope with my trauma and pain better than anything had before. Through the ups and downs of the series, the things I loved and even some of the things I didn't, I stuck with it, loving it. I can confidently say this is my one of my favorite stories, favorite character (Clem), and favorite game. I even decided to edit it into a format watchable for my relatives who won't play it or watch someone play it, just because I adored this series so much and wanted them to love it too. I relate to Clem so much, and would not be as well off as I am now if not for this character and story. Speaking from this position, I can confidently say this comic is the Luke Skywalker throwing his lightsaber away moment for Clementine. She would never do this. She (and us) spent three seasons trying to care for, find, and protect AJ, even giving up Kenny to go into Wellington (in my version) for his sake. This is not the person Lee raised, nor who she grew to become. And just like the sequels to Star Wars, this comic isn't canon to her story. The only canon for me is Season 1 to the Final Season. They need to stop hiring people who don't care about the characters or universe they're writing for. Why are so many franchises being co-opted by people who don't have any love for the things they're supposed to care for? PS. This makes the roughness of A New Frontier seem as amazing as Seasons 1 & 2 and much of 4.

Just finished playing the Definitive Edition of the Walking Dead a few days ago! I didn’t think the ending was perfect, but I’m glad to know that the games finale is where Clementine’s story will probably end for me!
Very detailed review! I just realised this but does anyone also feel very paranoid of her setting off alone with one leg that she could be ambushed by bad people and have her crutches be taken away? Gave me chills when recalling the group of men that separated her from Christa that Clem was able to run away back then as she at least had two functioning legs. This is just very much increased added risks when if this new community is allegedly so important to explore then someone else could've set off to take a look instead of her.
She's experienced in zombie acopalpyse and can still fight with a single let, she's strong. Actually she there were supposed to be multiple endings and not supposed to get bit, due to problems in development the went with the mixed ending some wanted her to die and some wanted her to live so skybound decided to do mixed ending. They should go with ending in which she doesn't get her leg cut off which wasn't shown in the game. Don't even think of making Robert kirkman continue her story as he likes killing off characters that people love.

My Clementine is happy raising AJ in Ericson’s with a boyfriend with the name of Louis and is happy with him, who knows the future with them two. She has Rosie to give her a dog like she wanted when she was a kid and she has a home to lead

Clementine got what she wanted, a safe home that works for her and AJ, somewhere good she can raise AJ. And my Clementine also now has a boyfriend who cares about her, that someone she can talk to and be happy with

This comic would've made MUCH more sense if it had been an older AJ leaving on some adventure because he wants to see the world or whatever and he's telling clem bye and her basically being unable to follow him since she has one leg now. I as a fan would've been fine with a small clem cameo in the beginning of that as long as it kept her in character.

1- I cant believe in 12 pages they totally destroyed a character, and I understand if people remember me for wanting more of her but I regret wanting that.

Clementine wasn't supposed to get her leg cut off. If telltale only focused on walking dead and not wasted all their money on multiple ips, we would have season 7 by now of walking dead. The final season was supposed to have multiple endings and the last 2 episode were supposed to be longer and more detailed but due to problems in development and nobody wanted her to die but there are also some people who wanted her to die so they cut off her leg. In order to give her a proper continuation they should show how Clementine didn't get her leg cut off, and the hat belongs to her.

They literally could have saved the story by just saying, “Clementine was feeling sad and wanted some alone time and got kidnapped by the raiders who took Minnie and Sophie and brought back to her base. It wasn't a finished story. Clementine story wasn't supposed to end but due to telltale facing financial issues their games weren't selling that much at the time so they expected the same for a new walking dead clementine game so they decided to end it. The final season ending is the darkest out of all seasons if you really understand the ending.

I'm not even mad that Clem leaves the school as it's tough to continue that storyline from the Final Season since people got different endings depending on their choices, but leaving AJ and trying to leave without even telling him is what's completely out of character.
They should go with the happiest ending with Tenn dead as he was really unsuitable and useless, Tenn put people at risk a lot of times his death should be canon.

Maybe take the average of people’s choices from the game. Let’s say 77% of people romanced Violet. (This isn’t correct probably but just as an example.) then let’s say that the other 23% romanced Louis. The writer could have made a determinant plot based off the average of people’s decisions. What about a choose your own adventure-ish beginning that sets a page number to go to based off decisions and then the plot carries out like a normal book from there? How bout anything that makes sense? They can’t just say she’s “unhappy” and not tell us why. I don’t mean to rant but it’s kind of important to the community of the people that love the game and it’s franchise here!

That said she has core personality traits that do not change no matter what her character does.

It’s obvious that Clementine would never abandon AJ even if it was the other way around and he was the one who wanted to leave. If the story continued I’m 100% sure Clem would’ve died if their home was attacked because she wouldn’t be able to escape and this scenario of them going their separate way would make more sense if she needed to sacrifice herself for AJ to successfully run away.

I recently played the Definitive Series for the first time with my prior experience being S1 and S2 when they originally released and i can confidently say Clem would never leave AJ especially after all the bs she had to endure to find him at the ranch. That said, when she offed herself in the following season, I was miffed as hell.

Telltale spent all of the earnings into buying license ips. They should've only focused on walking dead.
I discovered this series back in 2018. I was going through a tough time, depressed and alone. I quickly fell in love with the characters, the world, and especially Clem and Lee. This series almost singlehandedly (with a little help from Detroit: Become Human) helped me cope with my trauma and pain better than anything had before. Through the ups and downs of the series, the things I loved and even some of the things I didn't, I stuck with it, loving it. I can confidently say this is my one of my favorite stories, favorite character (Clem), and favorite game. I even decided to edit it into a format watchable for my relatives who won't play it or watch someone play it, just because I adored this series so much and wanted them to love it too. I relate to Clem so much, and would not be as well off as I am now if not for this character and story.
Speaking from this position, I can confidently say this comic is the Luke Skywalker throwing his lightsaber away moment for Clementine. She would never do this. She (and us) spent three seasons trying to care for, find, and protect AJ, even giving up Kenny to go into Wellington (in my version) for his sake. This is not the person Lee raised, nor who she grew to become. And just like the sequels to Star Wars, this comic isn't canon to her story. The only canon for me is Season 1 to the Final Season.
They need to stop hiring people who don't care about the characters or universe they're writing for. Why are so many franchises being co-opted by people who don't have any love for the things they're supposed to care for?
PS. This makes the roughness of A New Frontier seem as amazing as Seasons 1 & 2 and much of 4.

Just finished playing the Definitive Edition of the Walking Dead a few days ago! I didn’t think the ending was perfect, but I’m glad to know that the games finale is where Clementine’s story will probably end for me!

Very detailed review! I just realised this but does anyone also feel very paranoid of her setting off alone with one leg that she could be ambushed by bad people and have her crutches be taken away? Gave me chills when recalling the group of men that separated her from Christa that Clem was able to run away back then as she at least had two functioning legs. This is just very much increased added risks when if this new community is allegedly so important to explore then someone else could've set off to take a look instead of her.
She's experienced in zombie acopalpyse and can still fight with a single let, she's strong. Actually she there were supposed to be multiple endings and not supposed to get bit, due to problems in development the went with the mixed ending some wanted her to die and some wanted her to live so skybound decided to do mixed ending. They should go with ending in which she doesn't get her leg cut off which wasn't shown in the game. Don't even think of making Robert kirkman continue her story as he likes killing off characters that people love.
I knew right from the start that making a Clementine comic would be a mistake as big as A New Frontier.
And I turned out more right than I could possibly imagine.

My Clementine is happy raising AJ in Ericson’s with a boyfriend with the name of Louis and is happy with him, who knows the future with them two. She has Rosie to give her a dog like she wanted when she was a kid and she has a home to lead

It was not a happy ending, the ending was really dark if you understood it.
There is a reason why Clementine said to AJ "You'll have to be strong for the both of us" not because she lost her leg, it's something else.
@@clementinei9362 How is it dark? Yes Clementine lost her left foot but she’s happy to still be alive. And maybe if a romanced Violet/Louis died that would be a little more dark but if they are alive (Louis in my ending) Clementine now has a boyfriend to be happy with and potential for whatever the future holds with them, maybe even kids of their own.
Clementine got what she wanted, a safe home that works for her and AJ, somewhere good she can raise AJ. And my Clementine also now has a boyfriend who cares about her, that someone she can talk to and be happy with

This comic would've made MUCH more sense if it had been an older AJ leaving on some adventure because he wants to see the world or whatever and he's telling clem bye and her basically being unable to follow him since she has one leg now. I as a fan would've been fine with a small clem cameo in the beginning of that as long as it kept her in character.
