There are a lot of different ways she could’ve gone about this. Here’s one. 1.Sickness/Time-Skip -It’s been 5 months since they beat Lilly’s gang of jerks, but recently a plague has struck and everyone is sick. They’re out of medicine so Clem being the only one not sick due to a better built immune system from being on the road the longest decides to go after some but since AJ is sick she can’t take him with her but promises to come back. Time moves on and slowly she meets the characters whom she is a little apprehensive about but she slowly opens up to them and gains new friends instead of a fast romance being shoved down your throat. She gets the medicine and the girl becomes a good friend of her who follows her home only for them to find it had been raided so she has to go find where her people were taken. She finds a not left by AJ under one of the shelf items. This sounds better than her garbage and it was off the top of my head.
Your version is 100x better than whatever this monstrosity is. I think anyone whose played even The Final Season alone could probably write a better story
This would also be a really cool callback to the Walking Dead plague arc in the prison, because that is probably my favourite arc in the whole show I would’ve loved to have seen something like that with the characters in the game

I think this is a reflection of why comics like this don't work, because she's saying she was probably alone because she was left behind to watch after Omid (who was unconscious with his leg) while Lee and the others went to Crawford. Which not everybody did. So.

Is it possible the baby being born Clem mentioned was Christa's kid? I'd assume that'd be traumatic because the baby was probably stillborn. But then again it's Tillie Walden and she loves dismissing AJs existence
That’s what I thought honestly, it makes more sense given the fact that we don’t see Christa’s baby in the second episode of the second season but she’s very much pregnant in the first episode. So it’s pretty much confirmed that the baby most likely didn’t survive delivery or died shortly after. I also think it’s more likely this is a reference to Christa’s baby rather than AJ, I think after literally abandoning him Clementine (Or Tangerine AKA Clementine at home) is going to be very reluctant to mention him at all.

Not to mention she seems to remember Lilly in the final season in great detail even though she only knew her for about three months at the very most. Also a baby’s most likely death at such a tender age is probably something that would stick with you for a long time.
Dom is usually a level-headed person, usually very tolerant of B.S. and tries to see the good side of everything. It really gives you an idea on how bad something is when he is PISSED OFF at something.
I absolutely hate how the writer basically uprooted Clem from Ericson's, for this band of generic faces. Why does she care more about these people than the people she fought alongside, who's pain she shares. And AJ. She spent the 7-ish years looking after him, even searching for him when they got separated for months on end, survived alongside for years, yet she abandons him just because she "felt unfulfilled". If she can so easily leave her friends who she was the leader of, why is she sticking with this crew?! Hell, in New Frontier, she was downright distrustful of everyone, hardened by survival, and only mellowing out by the end as she'd formed rapport with Javier after the adventure they went on!

The Walking Dead was supposed to be like horror, thriller, action, adventure, and sometimes wholesome moments, like romance, or friendship, or family moments, but this comic, I don't know what I'm gonna say
Yeah it’s almost like the only walking dead thing the writer saw before starting the comic is world beyond (the weird walking dead show spin off which actually feels kind of similar to the clementine books now I think about it)
As a big fan of the Telltale Walking Dead games, These books are a good example of Character assassination. Basically took a beloved Character and completely changes *their character* *their behaviors* and everything that you liked about them. In my mind, Clementine's story ended during Season 4. Where we as fans can decide what happens next like her ship with Louis/Violet.

I’ve been hearing how much the fans of the games are tearing this comic series a new one. I can understand why. The person who’s making these comics has ZERO respect for Clementine as a character and the struggles she went through during the series. What infuriates me the most is how she straight up abandons AJ after working so hard to rescue him from the McCarroll Ranch and raising him while she herself was still just a kid when he was born due to Rebecca dying as well as the rest of the adults, leaving both her and AJ to fend for themselves. She even put her life on the line to try to steal medical supplies from the New Frontier because AJ was dying of a sickness and Clem acted out of desperation to save his life and undying love towards a baby that she promised to take care of and keep safe. The Clem we all know and love would never abandon AJ under any circumstance. She would fight tooth and nail to protect him just as much as Lee did for her. She’s the only mother that AJ has got since his birth mother is dead. And as for the romance nonsense in this book?? It’s beyond insulting. I had paired up Clem with Violet in my playthrough of season 4 and they were such a cute couple. They were a much more believable couple than this pathetic self insert of the person making the comics. An atrocious character who pretty much forces Clem into a relationship and then finding out that they do the horizontal dance at the end of the comic is so freaking disgusting to me. It makes me immensely uncomfortable and enraged. Why even bother hiring someone who’s never even played the games to continue Clem’s story?? This person has no understanding of what made the games and especially Clementine so beloved by many. To turn her into this pathetic, one dimensional imposter of such a wonderful character shows that the author never has and never will care to even play the games so that she can get her facts straight before spewing out a bunch of lies about what Clem went through. I don’t even have to read these comic to know that they completely tarnish and demolish Clementine’s good name in such a careless, disgusting and insulting fashion. As far as I’m concerned, her story ended in season 4 and she’s living happily with AJ, Violet, Louis and the other boarding school kids. All I can say now is that Tillie Walden should be ashamed of herself. She single-handedly ruined Clementine beyond repair and is continuing to enrage long time fans of the games and Clementine herself.

As a writer myself, Clem book 2 is absolutely terrible & pretty much ruins Clementine's character even more & basically makes Telltale's TWD Seasons 1-4 pointless & look stupid and that honestly pisses me off
I really don’t understand why this had to be a continuation of Clem’s story. You have a whole world to run with in TWD universe, and instead of using already established lore to make a good story with new characters, you chose to crap on characters that already exist and have a wonderful ending.
Wow I haven’t kept up with TWDG since the season 4 finale. After watching Dom explain this book, I can’t believe what they’ve done to this character. Arguably one of the best and most recognizable video game characters, Clementine, is now being made some random romance figure. Absolutely agree with everything said. Another thing that bothered me was Clem's struggles with reading and writing. In the games Clem is very well spoken and is even teaching AJ how to read and write, but in the books she's struggling to write her own name. I get she has the education of a 9 year old as far as school goes, but still I bet at some point Lee or Kenny would've helped her out.

And i mean ik she is growing up- but idk man its a lil weird especially writing that and knowing clem is only a teenager- that whole scene i get it is like “lets feel more alive” but it felt very unnecessary and the relationship feels so rushed and forced idk ( like a fill in for the fact she had romance with violet or louis.)

As soon as the promotional material advertised that it explore what life would be like as a gay person in the apocalypse I knew this shit would 100% be garbage. Firstly because clementine is canonically bisexual. Secondly bc why would you want to focus on that in a ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE STORY. Thirdly, and this is just from me watching the intro, the relationship is already contrived, forced, and just will not work. Fourthly, I've never seen a character assassinated as much as I've seen it happen to Clementine. This shit will never be canon to me. It ended at the 4th game.
I am a long-time fan of the series, having played the first two seasons when they released. I just finished the definitive edition after never playing a new frontier and the final season, and I was filled with a happy sadness after finally finishing the series. Now, I am affected by a different sadness after I found out of these books. I am having a hard time coping with this information, knowing how they have twisted Clementine's character in such a disgusting and frankly horrible way. I hope the petition gets out there more and that skybound sees it because all of this has hurt my heart. To end this, I was happy to be getting back into this series, but now I wish I hadn't.
I can already imagine the third book being the worst one yet. As I previously stated in one of your older videos, I have a project I could be doing that would rival what Tillie is doing. But I don't think it might happen.
She did play the games, but only after she was assigned with writing the comics. She admitted that she brushed though them too - which is just ridiculous. If you’re given the task of writing for something as emotionally taxing as TWDG, maybe go back to the OG source material and actually study it!

The Walking Dead was supposed to be like horror, thriller, action, adventure, and sometimes wholesome moments, like romance, or friendship, or family moments, but this comic, I don't know what I'm gonna say

Yeah it’s almost like the only walking dead thing the writer saw before starting the comic is world beyond (the weird walking dead show spin off which actually feels kind of similar to the clementine books now I think about it)
As a big fan of the Telltale Walking Dead games, These books are a good example of Character assassination.
Basically took a beloved Character and completely changes *their character* *their behaviors* and everything that you liked about them.
In my mind, Clementine's story ended during Season 4. Where we as fans can decide what happens next like her ship with Louis/Violet.

I’ve been hearing how much the fans of the games are tearing this comic series a new one. I can understand why. The person who’s making these comics has ZERO respect for Clementine as a character and the struggles she went through during the series.
What infuriates me the most is how she straight up abandons AJ after working so hard to rescue him from the McCarroll Ranch and raising him while she herself was still just a kid when he was born due to Rebecca dying as well as the rest of the adults, leaving both her and AJ to fend for themselves. She even put her life on the line to try to steal medical supplies from the New Frontier because AJ was dying of a sickness and Clem acted out of desperation to save his life and undying love towards a baby that she promised to take care of and keep safe. The Clem we all know and love would never abandon AJ under any circumstance. She would fight tooth and nail to protect him just as much as Lee did for her. She’s the only mother that AJ has got since his birth mother is dead.
And as for the romance nonsense in this book?? It’s beyond insulting. I had paired up Clem with Violet in my playthrough of season 4 and they were such a cute couple. They were a much more believable couple than this pathetic self insert of the person making the comics. An atrocious character who pretty much forces Clem into a relationship and then finding out that they do the horizontal dance at the end of the comic is so freaking disgusting to me. It makes me immensely uncomfortable and enraged.
Why even bother hiring someone who’s never even played the games to continue Clem’s story?? This person has no understanding of what made the games and especially Clementine so beloved by many. To turn her into this pathetic, one dimensional imposter of such a wonderful character shows that the author never has and never will care to even play the games so that she can get her facts straight before spewing out a bunch of lies about what Clem went through. I don’t even have to read these comic to know that they completely tarnish and demolish Clementine’s good name in such a careless, disgusting and insulting fashion. As far as I’m concerned, her story ended in season 4 and she’s living happily with AJ, Violet, Louis and the other boarding school kids. All I can say now is that Tillie Walden should be ashamed of herself. She single-handedly ruined Clementine beyond repair and is continuing to enrage long time fans of the games and Clementine herself.

Wow I haven’t kept up with TWDG since the season 4 finale. After watching Dom explain this book, I can’t believe what they’ve done to this character. Arguably one of the best and most recognizable video game characters, Clementine, is now being made some random romance figure. Sounds like the books neglect the games outstanding story and character development. Such a shame, disgusting really! Clem is meant to be a tough rugged character and also an emotionally scared strong independent person.

Absolutely agree with everything said. Another thing that bothered me was Clem's struggles with reading and writing. In the games Clem is very well spoken and is even teaching AJ how to read and write, but in the books she's struggling to write her own name. I get she has the education of a 9 year old as far as school goes, but still I bet at some point Lee or Kenny would've helped her out.

I am a long-time fan of the series, having played the first two seasons when they released. I just finished the definitive edition after never playing a new frontier and the final season, and I was filled with a happy sadness after finally finishing the series. Now, I am affected by a different sadness after I found out of these books. I am having a hard time coping with this information, knowing how they have twisted Clementine's character in such a disgusting and frankly horrible way. I hope the petition gets out there more and that skybound sees it because all of this has hurt my heart. To end this, I was happy to be getting back into this series, but now I wish I hadn't.
