Hopefully this guide was helpful! If you have the time, give me some feedback on the video. Like if it was too long, if I rambled too much, if you wanted more gameplay, etc. Thanks for all the support!
It was a good guide, thank you but there is one thing that was incorrect (because I tested it). If you use Chaos Inoculation with blood mage it simply will not let you cast any of the spells because you don't have the resources. I tested it because I thought it would be funny if I could just kill my character by casting a spell. Otherwise I did like the video.
@chavdarmladenov6453 Yep! There is plenty of footage if the build in action in the video. I also have another video where I talk about the interaction between blasphemy and hexblast, and show how it works.
as explanation for the life/mana cost difference, you've got a reduced mana cost note "Conservative Casting" for what ever reasoning cost reduce on the skill tree won't affect the life cost calculation (it didn't do it either in PoE1) thats why your skills cost more life than mana
Me and you had the EXACT same start and outcome dude! It's good to know I wasn't the only 1 to suffer through the early woes of this class with a DoT build and horrible ascendancy. By the time I got to mapping, it was manageable but before then, forget it. What killed me is folks are saying Warrior is the worst to level and I told them to try this and get back to me. @@doodsixsixsix5361 Yeah, they can be a pain when they spawn directly beneath a large boss that doesn't move much. I wouldn't be surprised if they changed something with both those things in the near future.

Hey, is there a reason you ommited Potent Incantation in passives (granting additional spell dmg)? As I understand, it grants +30% spell dmg, which can later be multiplied in crit hits (so this +30% base dmg converts to, at least, +60% dmg when a hit is critical) - or am I missing something?

Yes it's unfortunate that the blood mage isn't optimized for curse and dots. I'm still going infinity curses rn and will get the +10% life. The problem with that is I can't go all the way Into crit if I have infinity curses. And grasping wonds isn't worth going if you can go with that +10% life on hit. The next ascendancy has to focus on dot damages, Curses or chaos damage. It would be so nice !
I have 3200+hp, 1900es + grim fist, 270k dps in tooltip and 3m aoe explosion hexblast on this build. also the second curse with 27% slowdown of enemies
With some other gear and uncut gems u can push the damage way more especially for bosses its helpfull. With the increased cast speed from critically hitting an enemy my hexblast is at 205k dps u can swap out Magnified effect before bosses for a gem with more damage and for normal map clearing u can change it back. This way bosses die in 5 seconds while being frozen its just insane but to get this work u have to reach lvl 90 most likely. But beside the damage difference my build is almost the same.
@@JoeManLuke nice :) you could consider using mings heart Amethyst ring its a unique ring that decreases defence by 30% but gives u damage as extra chaos damage it is an insane damage boost for hexblast if u can compensate the defence lost. I love that you actually made a Blood Mage work. With an added bonus that the robe looks really nice ;-) Out of curiosity... A big part of your late game tree is Crit Hit Chance/DMG like 'For the Jugular', ' True Strike' and 'Deadly Force' in the passive tree. What I don't get... If I look at my Hexblast specification screen I don't see I any Crit Hit chance increase when I choose this path in the passive tree.)
Good question! So, unless the passive specifically states otherwise, such as the passives toward the bottom of the tree that say "critical hit chance for attacks", the passives we took do affect hexblast. Nodes that just say "Increased critical hit chance" apply to everything. The ones that say spells just only apply to spells.
@@JoeManLuke Ah Like so. Thanks! I would have expected 'general crit hit stuff' to be shown in the DPS specification on the skill gem screen aswell, but apperantly it doesn't.
