I love you Brian! 1. Embrace the masculine essence in you, be driven by it. 2. Have a mission, purpose. 3. Quit making excuses and blaming for not pursuing your greater endeavors.
Thank you for this brief but comprehensive review! This book is for men, indeed, and also for the people who love them! David Deida knows women more than they know themselves. This and the other Deida books changed my life, as a woman, helping me realize that women thrive and are free to express creativity, emotions and sexuality with an open heart when loved by a fully present, wise, kind, masculine man of uncompromising love and integrity!
I agree w/ Edvin, this should have more views. Very articulate, clearly communicated, very well done! Just got into Deida very synchronistically. Thanks and keep doing what you're doing!
But seriously though, over all this book is soooo important that if your thinking of spending the rest of your life with your spouse and you haven't read this book. Then it's a GUARANTEED DIVORCE. I'm not complaining or typing bullshit. This is an AMAZING BOOK. Thank you David Deida.
This book, and Its a Guy Thing (for her) saved my marriage 15 years ago. Been living the concepts ever since with us still and madly in love. Oh, and we still cant keep our hands off each other (most of the time lol)
Your videos are great Mr Johnson, thank you for sharing your philosophical input and insight in so concise a manner, your atitude in your videos are squeaky clean and really helped me listen to the content you were saying. Thanks man, I Love david Deida and I think I'll grab this book now :)
Hi Brian. I was recommended this book so thought I would check out what was said on youtube about it. I've got it in my basket now, The part about your business and being done with that section of your life struck a chord with me. Cant wait to read it. Keep up the good work. Richard
Greatest video.. Thank you good sir. I am living the Way. I put it in my Success Engine library to treat it like the kid who grew up poor and got one history book and just learned every word, every picture, date, figure, even the editor and publisher contact information. I am repeating these 4eva
I congratulate you for stepping up and doing it with "intensity and passion" I saw it in you right after you said that. You're making a good example for us men out here. Good stuff buddy.
@nobodysperfect06 I understand your frustration. I felt like you once but belive me low self esteem is universal.Low self-esteem girls get really really screwed by guys, Specially those who know how to do their stuff and they have almost no defense against it.
that stuff about contracting into yourself, I discovered that about myself a few weeks ago. its true. Its not about getting out of your comfort zone but expanding your comfort zone
Very valuable - thank you so much. I have had the book on my reading list for a while now, time to get down to actually read it. I find your videos unpretentious, concise and full of valuable information. I may not agree with every single idea from every single author, but I have to say: please keep up the very good work.
Thanks Brian! If you have time, i 've got one-two questions: Who supported you in this kind of change(psychollogically and financially)? I mean did you have enough support and money to make the transition(buy books, take care of your family etc)? I ask because i'm in deep thoughts these days about my mission and where i'm heading. And i would like to provide more and serve more to people and my family, but it needs money to aqcuire some needed skills and time(=drop college, its kind of boring there in general, classic education style). Any thoughts?? :)
Costas Plassaras We're always the first to take care of ourselves. The more we do that the more likely we are to enroll the support of others--from family + friends to customers + investors! You see these yet? brianjohnson.me/philosophersnotes-tag/wealth-2/
***** In terms of characters that fit David Deida's exact description of the "superior man", I don't know either. However, I'd like to share some characters that exemplify genuine masculinity for me: Clayton Moore as "The Lone Ranger" Charles Ingalls from "Little House on the Prairie" John Walton from "The Waltons" The Cartwright Family from "Bonanza" Horatio Caine from "CSI: Miami" Don Draper from "Mad Men" Maximus from "Gladiator" William Wallace from "Braveheart" Rhett Butler from "Gone with the Wind" Obi-Wan Kenobi from "Star Wars" Capt. John Miller from "Saving Private Ryan" Katsumoto from "The Last Samurai" James Bond
I have to say that the book says that this applies to women who also view themselves as masculine. You make it sound like its always for men which is not the case...
It is interesting that he uses "conservative" as a bad word. It is not. Conservative is just one who tends to believe that ways that worked in the past will continue to work. A conservative does not change just for the sake of change.
Kind of off subject, but I want to learn to build a business. Where should I begin? I'm studying business now, but I want to make sure I cover all the bases and school just doesn't lay out a path.
Although I think some of David Dimas ideas are good I didn't personally relate to much in this book. It's mostly for people who are in relationships if your single it doesn't really apply.
I hate how us guys have to be a certain way in order to be boyfriend material, but girls just have to look a certain way in order to be girlfriend material
still, those girls with low self-esteem, still get a boyfriend, who cares if the relationship was a negative, bad one? better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all, it seems like women judge men on non-physical attributes for the most part before considering him "boyfriend material"
This sounds nice,,,but it also sounds like God got copied, and didn't get all the credit. You can go through all of these motions crucifiction, resurrection, and you can take full responsibility for the great changes you made in yourself. Just having the courage to step through and peel away the layers of onion boy, (Shrek) is not enough, and you will still be empty in the end. Got there yet Brian? You will. The only way anyone will be reborn, is if God is at the center of it. You will not be able to recharge for very long without him. He made sure of that when he made you and designed you. The hole you feel is God Shaped, not let's see how I can change myself IF I am really courageous... I don't know, because I haven't read this book, but I suspect that we are being politically correct, or riding on populism, and that avoiding God in the formula, and it's all part of selling books. Don't mention the creator and author of all of us, because then you just might be a religious Jesus freak, or worse a real Christian...I could be wrong about this assumption, because maybe God is in this book somewhere, but I believe that if he isn't at the center of all these efforts you are undertaking, you will fail. In fact, I believe that these are all great ideas to reform one's behaviors, and search for God's real purpose for your life. But it is God's purpose, he owns you, and you will have to answer to him at the end of all this work, physical death. Here's to hoping that you understand this, and that you know that you cannot change anything unless you have the savior at the center.
nobody is perfect - you can say that again. I don't think this book is for you, or philosophy at this point. You are contracted into yourself. SORT IT OUT and stop making excuses.
I love you Brian!

Key elements of becoming a superior woman ... thought provoking ...compels one to realignment...
Brian, in your opinion, which TV or movie characters best fit the description of the "superior man"?
