Some of you already know that Side B of this album is every bit as good as Side A. Roland and Nicky Holland were in an amazing, inspired songwriting groove during the months that this album was being created, layered together, and beautifully produced. And Oleta's vocals . . . OMG. This album---phenomenally underrated IMO---makes my list of one of the top ten albums of the Rock And Roll Era.
All four of my kids were brought up with and love Tears for Fears, they all know I want "Famous Last Words" played at my funeral, a truly haunting melody🙂

It was just these days thirty years ago when this bright masterpiece first came into my life. Thank you so much , Tears for Fears for being so crucial in my pop-rock musical biography! Why on earth can't we find this kind of treasure nowadays?

This album has always been, I think, the moment when TFF finally got to record what THEY wanted to! The chance to finally showcase their talent! This plays right along side Patty LaBelle's "I'm in Love Again" album as my favorite 'End of the day, feet up on the coffee table, glass of wine in my hand and eyes closed' kind of music listening nirvana! Thank you for bringing me back to it!
This is wonderful because most of the time i am riding my Bicycle and haven't a clue whats taking place on the screen on my phone in the ziploc bag in my jacketpocket😉

Until you have to replace the needle, the record itself because of dust, cleaning your records, having to get up out of your seat to flip the record over etc. I owned almost 2500 records back in the day 77/87. So happy for digital. Analog is bad for the environement also. Vinyl? I still gave you a thumbs up
Vinyl pressings were quite terrible by the late 80s...CDs and cassettes were the main focus of the industry then. This is played on good equipment. Imagine how it would sound on a cheapo record player!

Funny how we end up telling time by music as we age ,I don't remember loving this song in 1989,in Connecticut,but I sure Love it now!
