Old route is 57 km, new is 22km. Maths for up-down is: old route -57*2 = 114 Kms, new route = 22* 2 = 44, difference is 70 Km less for new route. My vehicle gives mileage of 10km per litre, so it basically saves 7 litres of diesel for me, and saves 7*94 = Rs 658 for me. Out of which i give Rs 375 as toll, which gives net savings of Rs 283 per trip. Also, it saves 3hours-40 mins which is 2 hours 20 mins
I truly appreciate the engineering marvel of the infrastructure. Kudos to the engineers! While it only takes 15 minutes to cross the bridge and reach Navi Mumbai, the real challenge for us Mumbaikars is how long it will take to reach the actual bridge during peak hours. Haha, the joys of city life!
1972 - First proposed 1981 - Recommendation by JRD Tata 1984 - Approved by PMO 2004 - Project revived 2008 - RInfra “won” the contract but later cancelled 2015 - Project revived 2016 - PM Modi Laid Foundation Stone 2017 - Contract awarded 2024 - PM Modi inaugurates the bridge
Big Salute to all the engineers, labourers and each person who have toiled hard to complete this amazing project - 'Atal Setu'. Kudos to you, Drive safe and happily.
What an Era to be an Indian. Decades down the line, we can be proud to have witnessed the rise of Bharat. We, the Citizens should be proud of this generation coz we are participants and contributors of the new Bharat. Jai hind !
Watching this video within 1 hour of its release. I really loved how the Autocar India team covered all the nitty-gritty right from the inception to why the cables are not used considering the evergreen Bandra Worli sealink to how the Flamingos' migratory flow is taken care of and the barriers installed for sound and sight insulation to the Elephanta caves view from the bridge... As always, the camera, drone, editing team makes the info more interesting to captivate to the screens. I also personally love to watch the reviews with Hormazd Sorabjee's point of view... Marvelous!😊
I was living in Mumbai in 1985. At that time , this highway was conceived and was the talk of the town. Later we came to know that because of Naval Dockyard, the project has been shelved. Though I have left Mumbai a long ago, but it is heartening to know that the project has come to life and has been completed. Long Live India. Jai Bharat.
I have been on the sea link of Mumbai and still remember the thrill of driving on it. Mumbai Trans Harbour Link takes it to the next level. Beautiful 🤩 oh Audi RS e-tron G..
Great to see you again Hormadz! after years, nearly 20! good good! Reading your write-ups is still a pleasure! I recall bought my Fiat Uno - based your ideas.
Please make a dedicated video on the drive via Atal Setu vs the traditional drive from Mumbai to Navi Mumbai via the older route. Should be quite entertaining :)
Happy that those home grown engineers and other SMEs who didn’t leave Bharath could work on such a project. Also, it must have been a great opportunity and experience for all those who got involved in constructing this bridge. Everybody must have enhanced their skills too.
I still can't believe what I saw. Just awesome, wish it had came a bit earlier though. I hope it connects Pune expressway soon. Maruti Esteem at VRDE or Audi RS E Tron GT on this bridge this Mr Hormarzd always gets to experience it first hand.
Congratulations, MMRDA, for this project. But i hope the bridge should have accommodated the railway line or metro connectivity as well. Also, it should have been at least 4 lanes each sides.
An absolute marvel of engineering the Atal Detu. I hope the existing roads in Mumbai like the WEH/EEH etc. are also improved to keep pace with such brilliant roads.
It is a masterpiece with a small inconvenience to middle-class, toll charge of Rs.250 one side. Mumbai Pune Expressway is Rs.270 for almost 100 KMs. But credit where it's due, it will change the dynamics of the city, it will be awesome if it connects expressway very soon & won't take years.
I surely agree with you about the toll fares, but on the other hand when we indirectly consume that much fuel when stuck in stop - go traffics in peak hours. It surely saves us time and fuel. It’s just my perspective.
I don’t think the company is recovering the money for 15 years atleast even with these fares. 18000crores for 1 lakh vehicles a day at 250 rs is 20 years to recover just the capital
This is awesome accomplishment. Authorities had good vision and worked hard completing this project. But I feel vision of fulfilling traffic needs only till 2040(15-20 yrs from now) is very small. Projects like this takes years to plan and complete. Authorities should have atleast aimed for building 10 lane highway which would have met traffic needs of 30-40 yrs and would have grand achievement.
Exactly what I was thinking, I mean if you're building something significant atleast make sure it's future proof. 2040 isn't even 20 years from now, not gonna lie it should've been atleast 8 lane if not more
Wonderful presentation Hormaz sir. You really answered all the questions around the bridge and it's structure. Like to really know why this bridge 🌉 is said to become a game changer for Mumbai.
Long cherished dream of Mumbaikars is fulfilled. It is an engineering marvel. Amazing video and excellent narration. Kudos to all those involved in this mega project. Jai Hind --- Prabhu Ramamurthi
Salute to all those who envisioned this great project our ministers engineers and labourers who worked day and night to complete this awesome trans Harbour bridge
Absolutely stunning! The combination of the revolutionary Mumbai Trans Harbour Link and the Audi RS e-tron GT is a sight to behold. 🚗⚡ The sleek design of the RS e-tron GT perfectly complements the modernity of the Trans Harbour Link. Kudos to Audi for bringing luxury and innovation together. Can't wait to see more electrifying journeys like this! 🔥 #AudiRS #MumbaiTransHarbourLink #InnovationInMotion
Wow ❤👏🏼👊🏼 True Engineering Marvel❤️👏🏼🙏🏼 Big Thank You to Visioners, Engineers and our beloved Shree Nitin Gadkari Sir who is the big captain of this project. Thank You Autocar and Hotmazd Sir for showing this to us Drive Enthusiasts. I have added to my bucket list to drive this amazing track❤ Of course love this Audi RS the beast 😄👍🏼
I’d say there should be stricter law enforcement for heavy vehicles and have a 100kmph speed limit. Light vehicles should be allowed to go at their desired speed like the autobahn. If there is a crash, they should have drastic consequences. What is the point of having so much BHP if you can’t use it.
It should be named after J N Tata. Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata was a pioneer and a visionary industrialist, an institution builder, a Desh Bhakt and a man far ahead of his times.
No doubt this is great bridge, we also travel from this bridge but people still stop in middle of the bridge clicking selfie and there is garbage not too much but still 😐🙁
Mumbai and people of Mumbai totally deserve this gift. Hardworking great people.
❤ love from Karnataka ❤
This isn't just a bridge it's a glimpse of rising India ❤❤

Thank You !! We will continue to build our Nation !!
I drove on the 7 mile bridge in US. So much is written about it. That is nothing in front of this.

@hypersonicmach1085 yeah 22km sea bridge in 7 years, no short feat
Bro studying history of mthl 💀
@hypersonicmach1085 record time is calculated as time of construction not other processes
@hypersonicmach1085 just to let you know that record time is counted from the day Contract was awarded, so think before trolling
@hypersonicmach1085, Record time from 2016, when the project was revived.
Big Salute to all the engineers, labourers and each person who have toiled hard to complete this amazing project - 'Atal Setu'. Kudos to you, Drive safe and happily.
12:27...take a screenshot....what a breathtaking view....never imagined mumbai will look like this ever..
What an Era to be an Indian. Decades down the line, we can be proud to have witnessed the rise of Bharat. We, the Citizens should be proud of this generation coz we are participants and contributors of the new Bharat. Jai hind !
Good to see India progress with modern infrastructure, they can build their way out of their difficulties with good design ✌️❤️🇬🇧
1:07 What a view! This is how Mumbai will be introduced to someone taking this bridge to enter the city.
Watching this video within 1 hour of its release.

Big big Thanks to the govt and the engineers & the workers ❤❤❤
It's an absolute phenomenon coupled with magnificent engineering and technology 👌🏼👍🏼
Hats off to the engineering team! This is a great step India is taking to become a powerful nation! Proud moment

Modern marvels. Awesomely done and captured by Autocar
If there ever is a must drive on road bucket list- this has to be added !
Great to see you again Hormadz! after years, nearly 20! good good! Reading your write-ups is still a pleasure! I recall bought my Fiat Uno - based your ideas.
Built at a fast pace as well. Bandra Worli Sealink for example which is a fourth of this one's length took 11 years to complete.
Please make a dedicated video on the drive via Atal Setu vs the traditional drive from Mumbai to Navi Mumbai via the older route. Should be quite entertaining :)
Fitting Tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji who envisioned the idea of golden quadrilateral. What a world class bridge! Absolutely marvelous.👌
This is the same feeling we bangaloreans had when electronic city flyover was first inaugurated and we drove through it. 1:58
Happy that those home grown engineers and other SMEs who didn’t leave Bharath could work on such a project. Also, it must have been a great opportunity and experience for all those who got involved in constructing this bridge. Everybody must have enhanced their skills too.
India is transforming in a big way. Amazing.
Proud moment for Mumbai & India.
A Morden marvel of engineering. Proud of India,s progress and super power
13:05 gta vibes 🔥
Yupp i too got the same vibes
Imagine the views once the smog clears. Especially during heavy Mumbai monsoons❤
Thanks for the electric ride, sir....Cheers to Govt.of India, MMRDA and Autocar India...
I still can't believe what I saw. Just awesome, wish it had came a bit earlier though. I hope it connects Pune expressway soon. Maruti Esteem at VRDE or Audi RS E Tron GT on this bridge this Mr Hormarzd always gets to experience it first hand.
Awesome structure, much needed for Mumbai, u covered this very well
Fascinating and brilliant congrats Mumbai people 🎉🎉🎉
New India!!
Kudos to hardworking engineers.
There are other auto channels on YT.
But AUTOCARS deliver quality and no useless bashing about things. Your content quality is really amazing.
The videography is on a next level😍
Majestic... Great Going India..!!
Cool. I wish someday the redevelopment of Dharavi will also be done.
Congratulations, MMRDA, for this project. But i hope the bridge should have accommodated the railway line or metro connectivity as well. Also, it should have been at least 4 lanes each sides.

It’s just my perspective.
You will end up saving fuel worth more than Rs. 250. If you want world class infrastructure, you have to be prepared to pay for it.
250 rs .. if you drive the legacy road you will have to spend more than that .. and one good thing is now to can save your time by 2 hours minimum
I don’t think the company is recovering the money for 15 years atleast even with these fares. 18000crores for 1 lakh vehicles a day at 250 rs is 20 years to recover just the capital

One of the good video by Autocar. After a long time.

it is hard to make 10 lane long bridge on water
Superb presentation by Hormazd Sorabjee. Truly an engineering marvel 👍🇮🇳
Many thanks for this video, ACI! Your visuals and description was stunning!!
Wonderful presentation Hormaz sir. You really answered all the questions around the bridge and it's structure. Like to really know why this bridge 🌉 is said to become a game changer for Mumbai.
Great 👍👍👍
Best engineers
Best government
Best thing happened to Mumbaikars
Long cherished dream of Mumbaikars is fulfilled. It is an engineering marvel. Amazing video and excellent narration. Kudos to all those involved in this mega project. Jai Hind --- Prabhu Ramamurthi
Much needed lifeline for a chocking Mumbai….hopefully it will be maintained well by both authorities and the road users.
Congratulations to the Team and Workforce to achieve this Massive Project
Loving this new India, which is not slow and not pretending to be weak.
Yes the bridge but your car is really cool! 😮
This is best Blog I ever seen made on this bridge. Thanks gentleman 🙏
Well one man that should be appreciated here is surely sh.Nitin Gadkari
Salute to all those who envisioned this great project our ministers engineers and labourers who worked day and night to complete this awesome trans Harbour bridge

Even Google can't meet the pace of development in India. 😊😊
Because the bridge is not ready for the public, genius.
The bridge looks lit af. 🔥
Wow ❤👏🏼👊🏼
True Engineering Marvel❤️👏🏼🙏🏼
Big Thank You to Visioners, Engineers and our beloved Shree Nitin Gadkari Sir who is the big captain of this project.
Thank You Autocar and Hotmazd Sir for showing this to us Drive Enthusiasts.
I have added to my bucket list to drive this amazing track❤
Of course love this Audi RS the beast 😄👍🏼
A superb piece of engineering. Very well thought out indeed.
After MTHL the most awaited sea link in Mumbai is Veer Savarkar Setu from Bandra to Versova. Its 46 km long with multiple interchanges
Best video I came across till date on MTHL 👏🏻 Thank you Sir
Man india has come ver far
India is rising ❤️🤙
Mr. Rohit Shetty must shoot some of his sequences here, for upcoming 😂😂
Autocar India editor in chief should do an Interview with Nitin Gadkari.
Proud of this infrastructure in India!!
One of the best video so far watched about Atal setu, Lot of information's shared.
Thanx to govt of india and engineers for this development
World class! I'd love to drive on this road someday
The Setu will also be extended on the Sewri side all the way up to the Sea Link!
Please make sure Instagramers/Reelers are not allowed on this bridge.
They have already banned any stoppages on the middle of the road for any purpose except emergency.
There should have been a metro or train line along with this road way
Now Fast and furious franchise have a new landmark for a chase scene here.
Speed Limit Should Be 120 For Cars & 100 For Heavy Vehicle
100 is more than enough. But govt has done good that scooters , bikes and three wheelers cannot ride on this road
heavy vehicles are not allowed there.
100 for heavy vehicles? That's a lot for a narrow bridge
Did you not see the visibility due to smog and high wind? Cars will be flying out of that bridge. This is not your regular highway.
I’d say there should be stricter law enforcement for heavy vehicles and have a 100kmph speed limit. Light vehicles should be allowed to go at their desired speed like the autobahn. If there is a crash, they should have drastic consequences. What is the point of having so much BHP if you can’t use it.
Phenomenal ❤❤❤ Jai Hind🇮🇳
Fantastic video! Nicely peppered with details of the bridge and its construction
This is phenomenal. ❤
More than the bridge, I liked the production quality of the video. Cheers!
Excellent video !! Great music , beautiful camera and drone work , a well informed host , awesome car and an inspiring project completed !!
A slightly better AQI would have made the view even more splendid.
Driving is a pleasure in this country. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉It soothes the nerves.Engineering marvel.
@autocarindia1 got to know new information, great way to present and camera views. I enjoyed your blog. ❤ Thank you
It should be named after J N Tata. Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata was a pioneer and a visionary industrialist, an institution builder, a Desh Bhakt and a man far ahead of his times.

Nice informative video as always u guys deliver.....👍
Autocar is the best
It would be great if they could also build a metro line as well.
Beautifully shot!
Nice to see an infrastructure project be on time in India. Its a very sight indeed…,
Thank you the constructors for this marvel and rest around the country even the flamingos enjoy their flight paths❤❤
This bridge is great but it's too complicated for me. Anyways will there be bus service across this bridge?
Build a bridge between thanuskodi(india) and Talaimannar(sri langa)
It will improve the tourism and relationship between the two countries.
I hope They maintain the quality of road
You has wonderful accent, excitement and super way of conveying the message,,👌👌👌
Terrific video. Can't wait for my next visit to Mumbai to get on this bridge!
The entry looks like the entry point from San Fiero to Las Venturas.
Hormazd Sorabjee ji ❤ sahab kya kamal video banaya hai
Thank you MMRDA 🙏🇮🇳❤️🎉🎉🎉✨✨✨
For Mumbaikars, Time is Money...
