    I’ve made 15 of these so far using different color patterns. I’ve made them wheelchair lapghan size and plan to give them to a local hospital in the children ward. They are so pretty, and it’s my FAVORITE stitch!! Thank you for this wonderful, easy pattern!!

    I'm so glad that I found this video! I'm trying to understand the whole c2c concept, watched hundreds of videos, but this video sealed the deal! My new yarn comes in today, it's Variegated. It'll be perfect for this stitch. Thank you for sharing your video with us🙏

    this trick in combination with join-as-you-go c2c now enables me to crochet intricate patterns without having tons of bobbins hanging around the whole time. thank you very much for this inspiration.

    I;ve crocheted many c2c blankets, but this one is the top of the line. Love it very much. As a matter of fact, I am crocheting the regular c2c, and when I found this one, I pulled mine apart, (frogged it) and started this tonight. Will post when completed. Thank you. I do know the UK crochet language.

    I have made a number of C2C blankets in the round but they didn't lay flat or had one problem or another. This pattern - at long last - is PERFECT! It took a little bit to get the flow and hang of it but now it's smooth sailing. Thanks a million.

    Thank you for this video. I won't lie, it took me a few tries to understand the 'growth', but I got it, and now it is all good. I could not find any type of blanket pattern I could use to make a rainbow, but watching this video, I now know, my granddaughter will finally get her 'rainbow' blanket.

    I am so excited about this idea! Thank you for teaching how to do it! I see that people are saying it's actually a differend stitch, but I don't know how to do those stitches in the round either, so it's a win-win for me! I know that my personal favorite stitch is the Moss Stitch, and I've heard it called a couple of different names. Yet the pattern repeat of *sc in next st, ch1, sk 1 st* ( wash, rinse, repeat. ) is the same in each of those differently-named stitches . Who knows how many stitches have been called different names over the years, as long as we learn how to execute them and create projects that provide comfort, warmth or have a purely functional use (washcloth, etc) with these stitches, the craft of crochet and those patterned stitches live on. ☺️

    I've always been with the camp that says "C2C isn't a stitch, it's a pattern. The stitch is the box stitch and you're working it diagonally" (ie. you start in one corner of the blanket/afghan/scarf/whatever, and work your way to the opposite corner) However, after watching this, a lightbulb went off over my head. It IS a C2C stitch, because you're connecting each stitch to the corner of the next stitch! Thanks for a great way to use the versatile stitch in a new way!

    • @johng423
      @johng423 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Several years ago I came up with practically the same method of starting from the center using this stitch. In my instructions (which I posted on the Knitting Paradise forum), I originally used a name for the stitch (I think I called it "block stitch" or "box stitch" because I had seen it called that somewhere), but no one seemed to know what I was talking about. Then someone said I was simply using C2C (although they didn't actually call it a stitch), only in the round, and suddenly everyone understand. Oh well...
      By the way I also developed a way to create a rectangle from the center, with a modified start from the square method. I don't have a way to make videos, but if someone is interested I can try to write out instructions for it. (No need for decreases.)

    I think this is hatch stitch. It is comonly used in corner to corner blankets but many other stitches can be used. Knitting can be worked corner to corner too.
    Id love to know how to work this in a tube for a seamless skirt or dress, ie in the round.

Not sure but a little confused by the 4&3d/c ...... but looks like 4 ... only when beginning increase row? I’ll watch video a few more times before I attempt this....thank you for this tutorial....always fun to try new things anyway....this is all for fun and enjoyment so.😂🧶thank you

    I like this because it is a square all along, and you don't have to worry about running out of yarn before you finish off the last corner.
    When doing the original C2C, I often use just I large skein(10oz-10.5oz.) of #3 weight yarn to make a baby blanket. I will weigh my yarn periodically so I start decreasing when I reach the 1/2 way point. You don't have to do that with this version. Of course, it is no longer a DIAGONAL pattern this way either though.

      Marlene Silvano thank you. I change yarn in this pattern by pulling the new colour through the loop on the hook after joining the last blocks together but just before turning. I pull the old colour tight (not too tight mind) so that when I start the next colour it’s now the loop on my hook as after trying different methods I found that to be the best for me 🙂 have a play around with the different styles till u find one u like 🙂

    Why do you sometimes add 3 DC and sometimes you put 4 and do you only do 3 DC at the end of each round

    • @bluerosecrochet
      @bluerosecrochet  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      3dc make the block. At the increase point use 4dc as the 4th dc will be the 'chsp' for the next block to start the other side. Without the 4th dc the increase points will only have 2dc making them not invisible

    I think the video is good but I think if you fed your yarn from the left side would be more efficient while you are working. I also wish you could have explained why you were doing the two steps of 3 DC and 4 DC to help us understand the pattern better. Great job!

    • @bluerosecrochet
      @bluerosecrochet  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. Thank you. I'm using the yarn on the right side as im sat at the table filming not in my usual crochet area, there was no space on the left to have it that side.
      The 3dc/tr make up a block. Where the join is the turn down the other side if there wasnt 4dc/tr at that point, the peak blocks would only have 2dc/tr ruining the invisible seam. The 4th dc/tr is worked around essencially used as a chain space like in a normal c2c. This keeps the 3dc/tr of the block at the peaks untouched maintaining the invisible seam. If you have any questions dont be afraid to message me on facebook 😊

    • @bluerosecrochet
      @bluerosecrochet  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Carol the 4th dc is the increase point so the first 2 rounds will be all increases. Afterwards the increase block (4dc) will always be ur first block of the points (where it will always have two blocks next to each other in a line instead of diagonal) if u ever need extra help you can find me on facebook or email my blog 😊

  • @susietoste1174
    @susietoste1174 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi I was watching you video..im a bit confused. why do you start with 4 DCs but then on the corners only use 3 DCs for each square. I know normal c2c is 3 DCs for each...can you explain?

    • @bluerosecrochet
      @bluerosecrochet  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Susie Toste hi, so we use 4dc to start on every block as we need the 4th one to use as a “chain” to put the next block into. After round 1 you will start to get ‘line’ blocks where u only need to normal 3dc to make the block, at the peak of the row before turning down the other side u will need 4dc again as the 4th is the “chain” for the next block again. As it grows u will be able to see where the 4dc block goes a lot easier. If u need help to get started the c2c block pattern written up will help u get started a long with video (in description). Feel free to message me if u need extra help with anything

      Janette Lampson Seidel as explained it’s so at the point of increase the 4th treble will be used as a ch3sp to create the next block, this creates a seamless increase as all the blocks around the blanket will have the 3tr of a c2c block. Without the 4th treble the middle points would be reduced to 2tr blocks.
      Only the increase point has 4tr all the other are still 3tr

    Nice, but as I had asked before when someone posted about this technique in a fb group...why are you calling this c2c when it's called that because it literally goes corner to corner when this is in the round? This is more like the box stitch in the round. Not trying to take away from your work, but things like this can confuse people when it's not given their proper name.

    • @bluerosecrochet
      @bluerosecrochet  7 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Called it the c2c in the round as it's still the c2c stitch method creating 4 c2c at once, as I was going to make 4 separate c2c then join but used this method instead. When decreasing it returns to the normal decrease of c2c for each side x

      Actually the c2c has had many names. I have references as far back as 1910 that call it the crazy stitch, 1970 diagonal stitch, 1980 the magic stitch, and an undated pattern calling it the box stitch. I think it only has been c2c since it’s popularity for triangle shawls and blankets on TH-cam. It’s like the granny square. Now many motifs are referred to as a granny square when there is no resemblance to the actual granny square.
      Have you seem the c2c ripple? That’s in rows.
      Like the box stitch? If I have your reference, it is a two round repeat with a row of chains and a row of double Crochets into the chains? Not the same.

    Oh my. I love using this pattern, but I’m very sad to see so many crocheters still posting on Ravelry. I was so hurt by them calling me and millions of others white supremacists! How can they be so mean??

    I have to agree with Trish Smith. C2C is a directional technique, NOT a stitch. I wish people would stop interchanging the two. Misinformation is where confusion starts to spread.

    • @bluerosecrochet
      @bluerosecrochet  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi so u will only do the 4tr when increasing. At the beginning this will be every time. As the sides grow it will be easier to see the increase points (it will be where two blocks sit next to each other not staggered) if u need any extra help u can message me on fb. The written may help you to begin with also (linked in description)
