Edit: I think those pearls would look absolutely gorgeous if you coated the mold with some pearlescent mica powder before pouring the soap!

I like mixing the mermaid set with the epic underwater furniture set, because they seem like besties, especially when you use their iridescent variation.
I almost thought she’d layer it like the fence is, but I actually like how the swirl came out.
I like the shelf the best. It’s decked out with so many cute trinkets and reminds me of Ariel’s grotto.
This color palette gives me vintage polly pocket vibes and I'm obsessed

@@goddamnitfrank5333 the chewy clothes are from the rebranding that happened in the 2000s, I wasn't into those polly pockets, I was too old by then, it's the 80s-90s polly pockets I'm obsessed over. The hard plastic compacts and teeny tiny dolls that were a massive choking hazard lol. And man, they're expensive. I recently bought 2 of them. Whoo.

Such a perfect palette! Aphrodite mixed with titanium dioxide is a beautiful shade of pastel ocean blue and Floatation Device transforms Cosmic Carolyn into a gorgeous coral!
I agree. Something iridescent would be a better option for the glitter. This one seemed heavy but I know nothing about this game lol. The drop swirls were epic in this one. I hope all the other batches behave as well

Ugh I 100% understand the pain of wanting the mermaid furniture set from previous games Dx it just never happened for me! I settled for lovely, rococo, and elegant! Also I’m so sad that they never brought back the expensive furniture sets Gracie created. I FINALLY have the bells to buy them but they’re not even in this game Dx
My favorite piece is the wall clock. It was a tough competition between the clock, the shelf, and the closet, but I can't deny that I like the clock the most. On second glance, I really like the lamp too, but the clock is still my favorite.
Katy, I strongly suggest that next time you add pale lilac purple colour to the soap and use a LOT of pearl micah dust because pretty much all of the mermaid items have a lovely pearlescent sheen. I love you! 💜💕

I love Pascal and Flick most in the game. My favorite of the mermaid furniture is the shelf! Have you heard of Disney Dreamlight Valley? It is a mix of the Sims and Animal Crossing but you get to do quests and your villagers are Disney characters!

I think i ended up losing interest in the game when these released, so I believe i only got one or two pieces from it. But this soap makes me want to pick the game up again! I restarted my island once a few months ago, so I have a lot of work to do.

Katie, have you ever considered using the grid for embeds a little differently? I’m curious if it’d work to place the grid and use something like a toothpick or chopstick to make little dots or marks in the soap where the embed needs to go. That way you can remove the grid and place your embeds on top of those dots/marks? I don’t know if it’d work but if it did, you wouldn’t have to try to drop embeds between wires or squeeze your fingers between the wires. Maybe this wouldn’t work at all though 😅 you’re the professional and I’ve never made soap myself lol!
I’m not sure if you meant to do it but when you textured the soap after the swirl then added the glitter it made the impressions look like mermaid tails. Like the shapes of the tail and then the glitter is the scales, wonderful job
It's so funny that this collection is a combination of Animal Crossing and OTGW because in New Leaf (the previous Animal Crossing game) I actually made my town OTGW themed where there was a trick or treat area and then a garden wall that transformed that side of the town into the woods! I miss that town, but it was so much fun.

As soon as the mermaid furniture came out, my acnh house had a mermaid room, I loved mixing it with some of the shell furniture too, especially the pink shell fountain. Absolutely loved this soap and can't wait to see more of this collection 😍

oh my gosh, Katie! If you ever do another collection, since i know these are made in advance, you should get like maybe a sheet of laminated DIY cards. Just little ones maybe the size of dominos, and make a work bench soap. All of the people who buy a soap could have a DIY card and it could be shared on Insta and stuff to see who got which!

Idk if I have all the mermaid furniture cuz Pascal just keeps giving me pearls, but I have two favorites, one of them that's not on the screen is the dresser and the one that is on the screen is the lamp, I also LOVE the shell furniture, the shell bed and the shell fountain are just perfect imo!
