    High flow cats! and maybe show us how to pass the emission test 🤔

      High flow cats will still pass emissions if you buy decent ones

    Definitely the high flow cat, a once and done solution while improving it as a track car.

    Got this series brought up by YT suggestions, oddly enough I have a rusty G35 sedan but still in the Z family same generation I've been dreading working on and fixing the rust. Just binge watched your whole series and you got me itching to do the same

    Great video. Currently, I'm in the middle of suspension upgrade due to inner tire wear. I've upgraded Kinetix Front Upper Control Arms & Rear Camber Traction Package, Hotchkis Sway Bar Kit & Whiteline End Links. After watching your video, I will definitely take look at other bushings should go ahead and replace. Next up, I am in the process researching Coilovers.
    On your Catalytic direction question, I went with Motiv (now owned by Kinetic) High Flow Cat, which are great for emission tests of TX. Now, I live in FL may switch out for Test pipes. Also, I am considering going with Greedy GPP RS Race Single Exit Catback.
    Look forward to seeing what you decide on your mods.

    Get a second hand after market exhaust, this is very much in keeping with this project and won’t break the bank. Check the Facebook groups as there are always people selling exhaust systems for a decent price.

    For your z I highly recommend the ISR single exit exhaust. Should run about $400 USD but I got mine for $50 on marketplace for my G35 coupe. I love all of this work, if I had a lift and a second vehicle I’d love to do the same to my car because it’s in similar condition

    • @ryanscanlan9875
      @ryanscanlan9875 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Perfect choice. Best value, quality, high performance, low drone exhaust available imo. Hi-flow cats and ISR Y pipe and you are done. Cats back are a must for a perfomace oriented Z. The Y pipe is optional but recommended. HR headers (which are equal length) are a great, cheap mod for the DE. (you just have to swap a stud to make them fit) Then cold air intake and a tune and your track car will be in it's basic glory.

    Drift knuckles? Angle kit?
    I'm currently going through this process on my 2 G35 coupes. I'd have to say that the Mid-West USA is more severe on cars. I also encountered the same issues with the front compression arm bushings. They're the worst.

    I have seen a few things online about getting offset bolt hole bushes for the front banana/compression arms?
    I believe that the Whiteline bushes aren't offset? Do you notice any difference at all with them?

    Is the NVH still decent with the poly bushes? Usually these improve the car for track, but at the expense of ride quality and compliance over bumps

    Buy a new exhaust system if you can find one in your price range, if not, get new headers/cats, don’t restore your stock ones, they’re gonna fall apart again

    That whiteline front compression arm bushing (banana arm) sucks. I went through 3 in a short time cause it just tears. I got so fed up I told them not to send a replacement. Super pro is more expensive but much better design allowing for proper articulation. I have a bunch of other whiteline bushings on my g35 and they are fine.

    • @RoadandRacetv
      @RoadandRacetv  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s disappointing with the Whiteline. Thanks for the tip on the superpro

    • @someonesomewhere5117
      @someonesomewhere5117 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it’s just a tough application because it moves in multiple axis at once. Probably why the stock rubber ones fail also. One other thing I wish I did when I had things apart the first time was to drill and tap for grease fittings so it’s quick to add grease without unbolting.

    I put a set of polyurethane bushings on my Porsche 911 Carrera with Bilstein sport shocks and just ruined the ride quality of the car. Was worst decision I have ever made and way too stiff for the normal shitty roads we have here in Calif. Would probabily be fine for the track. I hated the car after that and sold it. I'll know better on the next car.

    • @velocgee2874

      Poly bushes seem car dependent. Worked great on the Alfa 156 with no deterioration in ride quality. But have on the T5 and is pretty poor.
