I doubt her heart is protected against normal sharp implements even if it WAS protected against magic. So yeah, she did SOMETHING or tried to but she didn't try ANYTHING ELSE aside from continuing to try to use magic which didn't work the first time. I call it Voldemort syndrome because if it doesn't work the first time, keep trying and see if that works (possibly until it kills you). You know, like all those times he tried to use the SAME FUCKING CURSE on someone it clearly didn't work on.

Its chilling seeing every character in that room had so much character development. Regina struggled so hard with her demons and at the end finally experienced true love not just from Robin, but from all her new found friends and family. Hook only cared about vengeance and the hunt, but Emma came along and changrd his whole world and perception of things. Snow and David have been through so much up and downs and heartache, yet their love and hope overcame all of the opsticals thrown at them. Zelena had her own demons as well. The abandonment from her own mother caused her to be jealous and hate her own sister. What started to slowly change her ways was having a baby and knowing what motherly love feels like which intern helped her get close to her sister and they grew to love each other. Henry, growing up as a kid without his biological mother knew something was off about life in StoryBrooke and found Emma, his mother, to find the secrets and break the curse. His faith was the start of everything and the unity of all these magical characters. Finally Emma. A woman who grew up without parents and not even believing in fairytales and lived a depressed tortured life alone. Then she met Baelfire and experienced love for the fist time and had a child who would, years later, help reunite her with her parents, and find out her role as a savior and find out she was never truly alone. Now she is able to protect everyone with the sing instilled in her heart by her loving parents. The stories and magical and when you really deep down think about it, it can bring you to tears.

1 year late sorry xD! I'm watching the show through a 3rd time and this is one of my favorite scenes, Emma just realizing her family has been with her the whole time through music, and I just LOVE her voice! It's strong it's sweet, and I freaking LOVE the part where she goes to hook, looks at Fiona, holds the long note and breaks the magic. Just shows she is strong and CAN do it.

Once upon a time is my number 1 favourite series of all time and always will be. Emma always pushes through. She dies, she becomes the dark one, she's locked in an assylum, she lives 28 whole years alone then finds loads of family and is crushed by responsibility of being the saviour but she survives. And is it weird she never knows anyone who isn't part of storybrook and it's magic?

Once upon a time is my number 1 favourite series of all time and always will be. Emma always pushes through. She dies, she becomes the dark one, she's locked in an assylum, she lives 28 whole years alone then finds loads of family and is crushed by responsibility of being the saviour but she survives. And is it weird she never knows anyone who isn't part of storybrook and it's magic?
