- Roxette, a Swedish pop rock duo, was composed of Marie Fredriksson (vocals) and Per Gessle (vocals and guitar). Formed in 1986, they gained international fame with albums like "Look Sharp!" and "Joyride". With hits like "The Look", "Listen to Your Heart", "It Must Have Been Love", and "Joyride", they secured multiple UK and US chart-toppers. Both were accomplished artists before joining forces. They went on a hiatus after "Don't Bore Us, Get to the Chorus!" and returned in 1999 with "Have a Nice Day" and 2001's "Room Service". A break followed in 2002 due to Fredriksson's illness. They reunited in 2009 and released albums like "Charm School" (2011) and "Travelling" (2012). Marie Fredriksson passed away in 2019 after battling a brain tumour. Their music endures with hits like "It Must Have Been Love" and "Listen to Your Heart", having sold around 80 million records globally. They're Sweden's second-best-selling act after ABBA.

I always admired Per. Especially the era in which these guys were super-famous, he didn't mind being that guy with the guitar behind Marie. Roxette was an amazing band! RIP, wonderful Marie!!

Roxette was my first concert ever! Back in 1989, the Look Sharp tour. We were obsessed with that album. I have seen them 5 times live. So many great albums, nothing will ever be able to taint these memories. Per has always been this musical genius that's down to earth at the same time. And Marie; you will NEVER be forgotten! ♥♥♥

Fortunate enough to see Roxette twice! The last time they were here in Winnipeg, Canada you could see Marie needed help getting off the stage. She had had surgery and didn't have sight in one eye. But she sounded incredible. Such a loss to the music industry. I know some critics have written their music off as bubble gum -like ABBA. But screw them. Roxette are talented and put on a great live show.
