Recreational Therapy & Music Enhance Stroke Recovery at Helen Hayes Hospital

When Richard entered Helen Hayes Hospital following a stroke, he was very concerned that he would experience deficits which would limit his ability to play the piano. But Richard's care team integrated his love of music into his therapy program, and in addition to PT, OT, and other services, Richard attended recreational therapy where playing the piano became an important part of his recovery.
