For that foil/wax paper/wrap dispenser, the rolls need to be put in so the roll is dispensed at the bottom. Think "underhand" TP set up. This way, when you pull the product out, it's already resting on the serrated edge and is easier to tear off.
@@Vivian_Tries I’m literally going to Aldi tomorrow to get most of this stuff. The ruggable dupe? Insane. My German and 3 kids destroy rugs. So I’m thrilled. I’m gonna buy like 4 of the large ones and just coat my house. … is thag excessive? I don’t care? *crosses arms*
I'm a ruggable person. The difference is that it's a sturdy, cushy bottom and then the topper. So you can buy other tops to switch out and it's not $200 for just the top. They are incredibly good quality and since they go back onto the heavy backing that doesn't get washed, you don't have to worry about them curling. Plus the topper is significantly thinner than that rug, which doesn't make a big difference when it's a runner, but when it's 9 x 13, something that thick probably wouldn't fit in the washer.
I have read so much about ruggable lately and didn't realize this was how they worked. How do you attack the topper to the padded carpet? It is like a velcro type of situation? I'm gonna have to look it up cause I'm trying to picture it lol
I got my bag drawer organizer from Amazon for $6.00 because the company misspelled the word "Sandwhich", but I do not care. It is awesome and looks great in my drawer.
When the video started my husband said Vivian does ALDIs too?! “I’m never going to see you on the weekend, your going to be living your best Vivian life running around everywhere”. 😂😂😂
That Ruggable dupe is a great buy. I have customers who have Ruggables all over their homes. Plus Aldi stepped it up and put a rubber backing on theirs. Ruggables don’t have that.
I love Aldi, hoping they have the rugs! Vivian, I’m old in body and can’t get out much anymore! You bring me so many laughs, I love your honesty and humor. I live alone but luckily my son is a huge Aldi shopper and picks up what you tell us to “run and get you some” when I need (really, want) it!
Viv you are killing me! RUNNING to Aldis tomorrow to get ALL of this but……..lady where is the Amazon link to the spice jars?!?! I’ve spent 20 minutes scrolling through Amazon and can’t find yours😢I did however find $96 dollars worth of other stuff on Amazon that I did not need 😂
ALDIs is almost as dangerous as going to Costco or Sams club. 🤣😂😂. Who knew watching Miss Vivian could make getting home & “playing with your stuff”🫣 so much fun! 😂
It's funny how things come back in style. My parents had an almost identical dispenser for the foil, wax paper and Saran wrap and they had it installed on the wall in the kitchen. The only difference is that it was silver and looked to be a bit more well made. But functionality exactly the same.
My mom was a C-6 quad and we hooked the doorbell on the side of her bed. If she needed my step-dad during the night, she could ring the doorbell to wake him up. Worked great and was easy for her to push.
So excited to watch your latest video! - rather than an alarm telling me the bad guy is already in the room, I prefer the super strong metal pole that you wedge under the door handle. That also has an alarm, but less likely someone will get in to start with and it can fit in a larger suitcase if flying somewhere...and you can whack someone on the head with it too, if needed. LOL
I enjoy your version of how products work! I was raised on a farm so indoor rugs weren't a thing at our house but we did have a foil, wax paper and plastic wrap holder in a beautiful silver color (60's)🙂
I bought the bag organizer a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. The drawer that I used to keep all those individual boxes in is now so much better organized!
Vivian, Dahlin'.... Now, I just gotta order me some of them-there gadgets from this here episode!! Too much Product Love goin' on here, for me not to!! Thanks bunches, Sweetie!!
Oh my gosh listening (for the first time) to your videos at the gym and busting out laughing and everyone’s looking at me like I’m a crazy. Love your personality. Perfect at this. 🎉
LOVE my baggie holder. Returned the wrap holder because it was too big for my drawer. I've heard adding the metal cutters from the box itself helped cut the wraps.
I bought a $200 ruggable, but trust me, I’ll be buying this dupe. I only paid that much because I have dogs and I was tired of them ruining non-washable ones. My love of Aldi has no bounds!
I bought the door stopper alarm 23 years ago when I lived alone. It's funny how things that aren't really new suddenly become a thing. Wish we had ALDI back then to save a little $ on this before.
I dumpster dove two 5×7 rugs from my local Aldis. Brand new rugs in the trash. Love them. i have a vintage metal "wrap" holder that I got from a flea market. It holds aluminum, plastic and wax paper
I have the spice jars but I don't have the room to dedicate an entire drawer in my kitchen to that rack. I glued strong magnets on the back and put them on the side of my fridge.
I think the window alarm's key is if you do intend to use the window as a window and open it but you know you're still home. So instead of dismantling the alarm, you can put the key in and safely use the window and then remove the key after you have closed the window for the day.
I can see people packing that door alarm in their suitcase and not taking the batteries out. While being bumped down to the luggage area to load the plane off goes the alarm. Stay safe
I have washed rugs before, but they're usually smaller than that. I have found washable throw rugs are great to take camping. I may need to get the bigger 50$ rug for my campsite. (The friend who introduced me to this hack, of taking a rug to camp, uses an oriental type rug that he washes at a carwash and lets it dry on top of his van. I think this rug would work better.)
As for the glass jars of spices you can go to several different types of stores to get those glass bottles refilled. The Arabian Market in my area has spices you can buy by the scoop. I just take my glass jars and get them refilled for about a dollar apiece. The other place I can get them refilled is at a holistic shop, an old-time hardware store, and my local City Market.
I almost bought one of those rugs, definitely will now! I got both the baggie & wrap holders from Amazon. My wrap holder has sliders with a cutter that cut the foil!
I was in Aldi Sunday and was headed to Wally World next cuz I needed a runner that I could wash and didn’t know if such a thing existed. Standing in line to check out and low and behold there was the runner! Reached over and snatched one up. I wish I had gotten 2. Thanks for the sunshine 🌞 Darlin’. Heart ❤️
I have had a wireless doorbell for several years. I live in an apt and it is very hard to hear when someone is knocking on your door (except for the 4 footed "woof" alarm) and this solves that problem - sort of. I put a small sign on the door above the bell ringer that says, "Save your knuckles; use the doorbell" but only about 50 -60% of visitors see it and ring the bell. Oh well, if I can't hear them knock, I can't answer the door. You need to change the battery in the button and the chime every 6 mos, but if you do it with the "time changes" it is easy to remember when to do it.
I saw one lady with 3 kids, can't remember her name, get 3 of the wireless doorbells. She gave each kid there own sound and put the bell in there rooms and the buttons in the kitchen labeled. Instead of yell though the house for the kids she just pressed a button.
No lie girl...someone opened our hotel room door at 2:30am with a key! Fortunately, it was a mistake at the front desk, but can you imagine? Thank God I'm married to a Marine, because if he were some wimp, I might not be alive right now. 😅
This happened to me years ago. I was a 19 yo girl and it was the first time I was alone in a hotel. Someone opened the door in the middle of the night. Fortunately I had put the chain on so it stopped them. I was in a so so area of DC. I freaked and stayed up all night watching the door. After one call home my mother booked me in a much better hotel the next day.
My son works for ruggable, so yes I have them, I have two 10x10 one in my living room and one in the den. Out of respect for the position he holds I will not say anything bad on them, they are beautiful and they wash nicely. The runners at Aldi are amazing and you go a deal.
I have the ziplock bag organizer (a white one from Amazon) that we hung inside the pantry door. It’s awesome to have the bags neat and secured and the kids can’t rip the boxes up and destroy them 😂 it’s honestly the best little gadget ever! You could put it in the drawer but hanging it inside the door is perfect for us!
I saw someone put the door bell in their kitchen and the part that makes noise in their kids rooms. All they had to do to let the kids know they needed them is hit the doorbell instead of walking to their room or yelling for them to come down. Seriously thought about doing that for my teenagers. No more walking in on phone calls or interrupting their game. And not having to raise my voice = bonus!
If you’re in a hotel room in a jam for extra security, you can force your shoe under the door and no one can open it…! It works!! I’ve used it many times and you can only open it from the inside when you remove the shoe.
You could put the wood thing for foil, wax paper and cling wrap it's nice enough for the counter. I believe that my 38 Special is a better way to keep people out !!

She had come to close the hurricane shutters, but gee whiz!! Ever since then, I take that floor alarm with me EVERYWHERE we go, especially at hotels. They work great. Another fun video, but pick up the bottom half of that rug. :)
