That's pretty cool that there are known artists that use 'simple' tools for their art, though I don't like his pieces as much.

it is safe to say after that poor uneven coating job with the spray can, i would definitely love to see you try using spray paint as a medium. theres some wicked spray artists on youtube. a peter style artwork in spray wpuld be interesting.

My teacher who passed away at a very, very young age had given me some oil pastels (25 color set) to draw with. I've never used them because they were a gift from her and she's gone now. After watching this though I think I'll do a picture in her honor using all 25 colors. RIP Mrs. Bunker

I envision 2 peters when i watch his videos. There's the quirky weird peter when he films himself on camera, then there's the soothing serious peter when he's commentating over his art. i would've never guessed based off his voice that peter looks like that. And I love it it brings something new to every one of his videos.
If you hadn't posted this just because of the pimple I would have been very sad :( I had a whole long comment planned, but what it comes down to is - I'm just so pleased that you enjoyed these. I'd tried one or two and that texture thing you mentioned just killed my desire to work with them and if I hadn't sent them off, they would have just rotted away in one of my spare drawers.

It's fun to mess with people a bit. I liked to quick eye in the pyramid thing... it isn't Illuminati though - that organization was so short lived. The eye is old theology - it represents basically what it looks like: trying not to become blind to what's actually going on in your civilization. Just because the Illuminati picked it up for a decade in its thousands of years history doesn't mean anything. The nazis giving the swastika a bad name from their short time using it in the thousands of years that the Buddhists have been using it is also a shame.

Hey Peter for the future I just want to say, that it is really important that you know that you should first move your hand and then start spraying with rattle cans. If you spray first and then start moving you will create a visible splatter in the place where you began spraying :) I know that one day someone will send you spray paint or maybe you will buy them ( who knows :D) so yeah it is a good thing to know :)

Not at all. You should go find where he lives and look in his windows and leave him surprise hard candies on the path he takes daily that you photograph and build your appreciation shrine with. But cant have a dedication shrine without a lock of his hair and some earwax for the shrine candles. He would love it forever. Hmmm..how to secure that lock of hair without alerting him to your perfectly normal attraction...that one i will have to ponder on. But yes perfectly healthy .

-Sometimes- Most of the time when I start to draw, I always think that every line should be in a certain place and it should be at a certain angle. I'm constant critiquing my drawing as I progress, but when you draw, you don't even give a f!ck if the lines aren't perfect. Instead, you work then into your designs and they seem so natural. I love your art and hope that you continue to draw. ♡

It appears to me that the fixative actually strengthens the saturation of the hues. It's not a dramatic difference but if you look at before the fixative and after, the color is definitely a little more bold/potent. That could be due to the fixative being wet, but I personally think it added a nice touch. :)

I was looking for a "how to" on using pastel pencils and came across this. Although I didn't learn anything about drawing with pastel pencils I saw a pretty cool dragon being created!! Keep up the the awesome work Peter!!

You should use fixative with good ventilation. Not good for the lungs.

Peter's video's inspired me to make some kind of abstract art. I started with very low expectations but I just let my hand go with the flow and not think too much and I wasn't planning on spending very long on it but I ended up working on it for at least 8 hours (with some pauses) and I'm actually pretty happy with how it turned out!
When you did the kind of uncontrollable laugh thing at the end my heart melted
I would suggest not using that stuff inside...unless it's WELL ventilated. My art teacher showed us the can and warning and that stuff is so toxic! They have a 'booth' set up in the other art room so that we can spray our art work. It has a fan set up above the booth so that it sucks up all the extra into a vent that leads outside.

pink isnt in the rainbow, its an optical artifact caused by our own mind by mixing both ends of the spectrum, its a non real colour :D

Pink is actually what our eyes see when ever color in the visible light spectrum is bounced off of an object except for green. So pink is really White minus green.

Awesome work and thanks for keeping it fun! People can get so serious in these tutorials and it gets dull. I'm an art teacher and working with kids has taught me to enjoy the simple things like "wow, a paintbrush" and to make learning fun. I would probably show them your video and they would love it! Pink is tricky. Traditionally pink is just a very light red, if you were mixing paint you'd just add a tiny bit of red paint to white paint. In that respect it has no place in a rainbow since rainbows are made up of light and would contain pure, fully-saturated colors. In another sense pink is actually magenta and tones/shades thereof. Magenta is tricky because it's technically "extra-spectral" meaning it's not part of the visible spectrum, so you'd never see it anywhere in a rainbow because technically it's what happens when your brain interprets a mixture of red and violet, which are at opposite ends of the spectrum. At the end of the day all color is just in your brain, it's not an actual property of light. Magenta, and by extension certain colors we call "pink", is just a clever result of optical evolution our brains developed to bridge the gap between the two ends of the visible spectrum.
You have color-sensing cells in your eyes that react primarily to red, green and blue light. When yellow light enters your eye OR when roughly equal amounts of green and red light enter your eyes, they trigger the same cell combinations and you see yellow. When roughly equal parts of red and blue light enter your eyes, you interpret it as magenta-even though there is no specific wavelength for magenta and your eyes aren't averaging the wavelengths of red and blue/violet light (if they were you'd assume it would result in green).
