Best to keep Kiwior too, but I don’t think we’d go for Calafiori unless Kiwior is leaving to AC Milan/Juve.

Timber is not a back up. He’s our left back next season, no doubts. He’s too solid. Skill, Strength, Pace, difficult to get the ball off him. He’s definitely our left back next season.
I seriously am just hoping this doesn’t mean Gabriel or Saliba are now seen as more expendable…bc Timber and White are both starters, so I feel anyone brought in would be on the bench most matches. Why spend another £40m on the bench when the midfield and attack are much more urgent.
I’ll be honest I never knew Calafiori before the Euros and my first choice for LCB/LB hybrid was Hato from Ajax based off of the scouting reports I’ve read.
But as long as we’re getting good defensive players I ain’t complaining coz I want to move Zinchenko, Tavares and KT (probably not possible now) on this summer. If I’m super greedy, I want Diomande too.

Tbh, I know it won’t happen, but I can see Calafiori playing in midfield as a box to box destroyer type. Could be a stroke of genius 🤷♂️

Very impressed that only 5 or so days ago it was first said Arsenal were interested and now we've already given him a proposal. We must have been tracking him for months but it was only when we made him our priority that it came out.
Last year the Havertz and Timber deals came out of nowhere and the Rice deal had been going on for months

Firstly, love your content.
Secondly, I think everyone might be missing something with the calafiori deal. If I am not mistaken, Motta plays a 343/352 system.
I don't think Arteta would sign Calafiori to sit on the bench. Is it possible they may be recruiting to have more flexibility in their playing style??
3 centre backs in a 343 with timber and white inverting into midfield and allowing rice and odegaard to lead the midfield press would offer a much different dimension. Obviously, we can still revert back to 433 or even swap timber and white to more attacking wide players when the game calls for it.
My question is why buy a player to sit on the bench when we already have Kwior, Tommy, white & Timber who are more than capable of filling in if either one of the usual centre backs are missing.
Just a thought.
Arteta switches to that system a lot already as it is, moreso the 352 tho. White into midfield odegaard sliding towards the 10 saka martinelli very advanced wide players and havertz bombing the box with jesus at striker. Atleast that was his plan at first it changed when havertz went to striker i believe

Funnily enough, if Calafiori is 30-40m then you must wonder if De Ligt for 35m is also an option to strengthen our bench?
To be honest, a dual pivot of Rice and De Ligt would be interesting, considering he started off as an attacking midfielder.
Or we can just sign a cut price DeJong from Barcelona for 35-40m. Who knows we could end up with Calafiori, De Light, DeJong, Simons and Osimhen all playing somewhere else and were still considering a bid? 😂❤

I think Calafiori could play holding midfield as well as fill in defence. If you think about it we are probably selling Partey and Jorginho can only play so many games these days so this kid could be the future alongside Rice.

Sane is top quality - as we saw when he destroyed us twice in the ECL game at Emirates. Can play across the front line and has jet heels. I'd love to see him at Arsenal but my concern is his recent fitness record - patchy. I think Mo Kudus would be a better but - for a similar price - and Kudus is younger.
