Bach wrote this piece as part of an orchestral suite. In 1871 August Wilhelmj's transposed the music to C major so that it could be played on the first violins G string. Strange how this piece is always know by this title even when played on an organ. Have to say you played this brilliantly and the sound recording was first class.

For example, I like the English ensemble "Art of Moog" or quite a lot of pieces on the CD with the rather odd name "Red Hot Bach".

Bronislaw Huberman did a wonderful version of it on the violin, and this is a lovely organ version. Thanks, Philip. What a relaxing evening this is becoming, listening to such great music.

Hi Joshua. There are not there but inside a software program called Hauptwerk, which plays sampled and recorded sounds. So I am sitting at a glorified MIDI keyboard :)

Hi Christian. If you play piano and leap to the organ is actually not that hard. Well of course you need to get the food work in order but I'm sure you'll get the hang of it if you practice!
