I applaud you for having the goal of finishing your projects. As someone who USED to have the same number, I empathize with you and your efforts. I wish you a lot of luck.
May be a little too fancy for a Faire but definitely to a fairy fantasy gala or ball. Make my childhood dreams come true and feel like a fairy princess 🥹
Even as someone who’s been sewing for like 25 years, I still probably would have hand-sewed those! They turned out great. I had no idea those kits existed, so you’ve definitely taught me something!
Yay good to know 👍🏼 back when I bought the pink dress I don’t think a ton of people knew about the inserts as well because I went through countless complex tutorials on how to make the dress lace up, then stumbled across wedding dress corset back inserts and I was like 😮
I have recently gotten into putting corset backs into my daughter's dresses. She is 10 but tall for her age. So buying age appropriate clothes is not happening. But I can make her dresses last awhile longer by putting the corset back in.
I thought *I* was the only one who's forced to say: *"I. AM. NOT. A. PROFESSIONAL!"* ad nauseum, especially at a faire 😂 Luv ya, sister! Keep up the great work 🙏⛩
I should mention, since it seems somehow relevant in my current state : it is almost 3am where I am (France) and I cannot sleep because of this damn heat. So I’ve been binging your videos and adding waaay too many diy projects to my to do list. This will definitely be at the top : I have two (three?) long sleeveless flowy dresses laying idle in my closet, needing an intervention. If I manage to do this by october, they’ll be ready for when the goddamn weather is compatible to having fabric in direct contact with my skin.
Oh yay! Getting the pre made panels made it so easy. Back when I was first looking into this I had no idea how I was gonna do this but then I stumbled across a blog showing someone do this for a wedding dress and I’m like 😮
Was just looking for a video on this exact thing, thank you for the link to the corset panels. Zippers give me the sensory ick. Can't wait to see the shoots you do with these dresses! Love the purple and pink combo!
As someone new here, I love seeing progress of skill so im heckin proud of you!! Also as an admirer of pretty dresses and photo shoots, I would so love being able to wear stuff like those dresses at a photo shoot since I own no dresses like that.
Now I'm extra excited I tossed in a pack of sewing clips for our last amazon order! The dresses turned out wonderfully, and the sleeves look even more "exactly the same color" (as the skirt) from my nighttime blue light filter. I just found a hole punch/grommet setter in the attic this week so now I'm going to make everything that's slightly snug into a lace-up number! #laceupallthethings
Wow those turned out wonderful and I am not to sure about my sewing machine... it's doing too much thread on bobbin side... But I do really enjoy hand sewing I have always tried to change up a shirt I already was doing that at16 I still love to hand sew. It's calming to me... and I am 70 now I bet your hand stitches are better than mine 😂💜💚💜
I had to replace an invisible zipper on a very nice and well-fitting thrifted gray skirt. I put in grommets and added a ribbon to lace it with instead of trying to mess with handsewing a replacement invisible zipper I didn't even want. 😂😂😂
I'm with you on finishing projects!!! It's a goal of mine this year, so I made a list of my UFOs and I roll a die to decide what to work on 😄 Good luck to you, and these dresses look beautiful ❤️
Hey I've been using my sewing machine for years and putting in closures, especially zippers with the machine terrifies me to this day. Hand sewing is way more sure way you will get a neat looking closure.
Ok that’s good to know haha. I’ve heard zippers and closures aren’t for the weak 😂 hand stitching may take more time but having that control definitely is reassuring haha
Commented this on your community post already but THANK YOU so much for this awesome idea! Have an awesome vintage christmas dress that doesnt fit me bc i bought it “as another project” (WRGAAH THIS WAS YEAAARS AGO, anyway)
Can you tell the brand name of the clips you bought/used? I have clips but they never stay tightly on and always just come off when I'm using them. (Mine are Dritz and they're pretty useless). The dresses are so pretty, by the way!
They are meant to be separate and off shoulder. They’re the kind you can mix and match which is cool. A photographer friend of mine has a bunch and does different combos with ball gowns and over skirts for shoots. It’s so fun!
So you want to be invited to a fantasy ball/ gala?? Have you been to the Labyrinth Masquerade Ball in LA? It's on August 16 and 17 this year! You and your husband should drive down, tickets are on sale now ;)
Ah man I’d love to do something like that and that’s probably the closest one I’ve heard of. I got invited to one in Baltimore last year but couldn’t swing it budget wise. Hopefully I’ll be able to go to one soon 🙏
@@DressMeUpScotty it's definitely an event to save up for! A magical realm of fantasy, sci-fi, history, horror, literature, Ren Faire crossroads on Absinthe 💚 when I lived in SoCal, it was the highlight of my year :)
pleaseeee where did you acquire the detachable sleeves I’ve been so obsessed with them lately (bought a pair of off ebay like last year) 🙏✨ Editing also to say that these turned out so lovely
I applaud you for having the goal of finishing your projects. As someone who USED to have the same number, I empathize with you and your efforts. I wish you a lot of luck.
Everything looks better with a corset back
💯 facts
The pink/purple dress with the crown and some fairy wings would be PERFECT for a ren faire
May be a little too fancy for a Faire but definitely to a fairy fantasy gala or ball. Make my childhood dreams come true and feel like a fairy princess 🥹
Highly recommend looking for button hole trim instead of the sets. You will have to buy your own lacing but can just use ribbon or shoes laces.
I’ll look into that! 😁
Thank you so much for mentioning that!! Will definitely order some ❤
Great tip, thanks!
Omg you're going to offer photography sessions? Heck yes! I need to find a lady photographer near me! Awesome job btw!
My favorite seam ripper disappears all the time, it drives me nuts!
Immediately raised my hand bc I was called out so badly lol Thank you for making this!

This is so handy. I'm regretting donating my favourite dresses now. But hay, solution for the future, I guess. Thank youuuu
I have recently gotten into putting corset backs into my daughter's dresses. She is 10 but tall for her age. So buying age appropriate clothes is not happening. But I can make her dresses last awhile longer by putting the corset back in.
I love that! Very resourceful and versatile since kids grow out of clothes so fast 👏
I wish corset backs were the standard. Zippers are the woOooOOrst!

My other favorite is “this is for entertainment purposes only. I in fact have no idea what I’m doing” 😂
These came out so great!
The pink dress was stunning!
I love those lace up panels. They are very cool
Beautiful dresses! I can see you enjoying the heck out of them playing dress up!
I feel that! I have so many projects I need to finish. I started out the year doing that but life got in the way
The dresses look great!

Yes!!! Zippers are such an issue!
I feel like zippers and I have an ongoing feud 😂
@@DressMeUpScotty SAME! I might have to go through my closet and corset back everything with a zipper 🤣. Corset front jeans 🤔🤣
@@courtneywilliams2751 you know what, corset front jeans are a VIBE so I say go for it 🤪
Loving the Rapunzel dress and the second one is giving me Megara vibes. Stunning.

Oooooo you are killing it in dress #2! I loved the purple one but the second was more amazing! I always enjoy all your videos!
Tysm! Glad you loved it!
Good 😊👍 job, it look's so very 😍 pretty
Finally got around to this video, your hair looks so cute like this💕 also I am in love with your sense of humor lol
Currently avoiding Amazon but I actually have some fabric shops what sell these so yay
All that hard work, u did great, they turned out so nice! The yellow one is my favorite, it looks so fairysh 🧚♀️ , really cute! 🥰
Ty! It’s definitely has an ethereal feel to it 🥰
Both dresses are so lovely! I can't wait to see them in your future photoshoots 🤩

I don’t blame you. Invisible zippers were a mistake. As a society we need to go back to either those sturdy metal zippers, or just embrace laceup 🙌
So nice ! you did a great job ! Thank you for inspiring me a lot !
Very cute!
You did a fantastic job with the dresses ❤ They look Beautiful!
Ty! ❤️
I'm doing two of these projects at the moment!
I'm with you on finishing projects!!! It's a goal of mine this year, so I made a list of my UFOs and I roll a die to decide what to work on 😄 Good luck to you, and these dresses look beautiful ❤️
I love the dice roll idea! Helps with the decision making 🙌
@@DressMeUpScotty it really does! It helps me tackle the projects I would rather avoid too 😂
Such a good idea!! They look so good
Thank you! 🙏
The pink/purple dress looks so much like the masquerade dress from Phantom
I would sew the sleeves to the straps
Oh i need to get thise corset panels for a project!!
I could tell the sleeves were a little off color on camera. But so pretty!!!
Yeah once I color corrected the footage I was like “yeah the sleeves are a bit more coral/red) - but hopefully they’ll look good purple.

I got them off Amazon, they are linked in the description.
