Hearing these talented musicians playing this tune takes me back to two places in my life when I was younger. The first was when I was in the school band. My school joined with other schools in the district held a concert once a year. One year we played ""Stars & Stripes Forever" where I played the baritone horn in the bass cleft. The second time this tune takes me back was when I was serving in the U.S. Navy. I marched many times to this tune and whenever I hear it, I sometimes keep time with my feet as if I was marching. Thank you Kyoto Tachibana SHS Band for reminding me of times in my past.
These young musicians are just some of the finest I have ever heard in a long time. They had this old tuba player singing the bass part, it brought back fond memories. Thank you for posting this video.
This was Great! It should be encouraged for the audience to clap in step with this march. This is a MARCH for audience participation not a symphony by Mozart or a Bach Concerto.
This was after a very strenuous 5 and half mile parade in a very high energy marching style with a lot of dance steps thrown in. Even when I was in high school, and as much as i loved playing, I think would still be stiff as a board. And one of the flutes did it on a prosthetic leg.! Fourth from right, second roow
Kyoto Tachibana is a japanese school so it has a strict discipline in everything. Even in their bands. They practice so hard everyday for the pasadena rose parade
She's not the only one. This was the last song before the encore (and a fitting one when you think about it). If you watch the whole hour production you can see several different girls crying during the encore. This concert signified the end of their America trip. They had just gotten done saying goodbye to their American host families at this point in their concert, and afterwards are about to make their trip back to Japan. It was a very emotional moment for them.
Their this play is full of the respect for this march and USA!!!!💕 色々な『星条旗よ永遠なれ』聞いたけど前回の訪米時の演奏同様に橘の演奏が一番好きだな。
It would be interesting to know how some of these young peoples future is progressing and comments from then as to their USA experience. Hopefully translated to English. If i didn't know this was a high school band i would have thought they were all professional as their craft is of a very high standard
dell x This band was mixed with graduates. And not all of current student will cotinue music. They sometime burnout. So they may going to finish carrer as musician after they graduate high school.
As the band was not part of their curriculum, many of the students never return to their instruments after graduating. Some do, as half this troupe here were alumni, and about 15 returned in 2019/2020 as part of the "All Japan Honor Band" at the RP. Some have continued on with their talents and turned professional - if you go to the KT Fan blog, there's an "alumni" section covering those who went pro. As with others - privacy concerns are paramount, and the most we get to know of their life after KT is in the interviews or spotting them in the audience at a KT parade.
As fine a rendition one could ever hope to hear. Bravo!
They did justice to Sousa’s “Stars and Tripes Forever”! Thank you! The Flute players should all be commended.
I'm an American in Japan listening to this great rendition on the 4th of July, 2021! Fabulous.
Best band, marching band, orchestra on planet Earth

What a great Sousa rendition! They are wonderful musicians! Please come back soon to America!
Patriotism abounds!
Greetings from the USA.
Rousing professional performance of Sousa's classic. The Piccolo players did a great job on their shining spot!
They are young and talented.

I love this band. These kids are the best. Arigato gozaimasu.
This band is admirable!

Agreed!
One of the best I have heard, the timing was right, unlike some of the 45 RPM versions I have heard. Excellent and respectful.
Thank you for the upload

She's actually 5th from right, 3rd flute in after the two piccolos.
I am gobsmacked Stars & Stripes is a very hard piece of music to play and they have it down perfectly

the upload of the full concert is Wonderfull
Kyoto Tachibana、I feel that it is an ability school some other time.
GForce183、Thanks!
This, a marching band, is as talented as can be at an age that I was barely able to keep my shoes tied...

Thank you ~♫
This is soooooooo unfair.
The Rose Parade is for amateur bands only.
Why did Japan send their Special Forces???😭

The Piccolo Player is the current Drum Major and on her last few months with the band before graduation.

OMG! Where did the 5 oboists come from? Wow!!!
This was awesome!!!
They are *The Flag Girls*
their color guard/flag girls are instrument players too when not dancing
