Problems with my string disappearing after restringing it. Obviously, I had not done it correctly. Followed your instructions step by step and it is working perfectly. Thanks!

Many of these trimmers will get a large wad of dried grass in the head guts, so the head should be pulled apart into it's easily separable components to observe and clean before reassembly

This helped me to clean out the gunk that was preventing me from loading the trimmer.
Yes, all that wound up grass and gunk can cause problems.
