i really love how this comment section isnt people gatekeeping 80s music because it got popular from a show but a ton of people welcoming new fans and talking about how they love the song
It’s amazing. I was born in the summer of ‘77 so I grew up during the decades that ushered in tons of original, timeless classics and I am so happy that the youth of today are getting exposed to such a variety of classics; I always despair at the predictable unoriginal songs produced today en mass, tainting your ears - not a lot to choose from nowadays in my opinion, so may the exposure of old songs in hit TV shows continue. I get goosebumps when I hear these classics because it still feels like yesterday not decades ago.
It's because we will fade away. Many of lust lost loved ones that used to enjoy similar songs with and we want future generations to have access to this kind of stuff. It was ahead of its time when it first came out and it still sounds fresh today.
Fr. Always thought it was weird that people had to feel superior over knowing something first and gatekeeping songs. So happy this is a positive comment section.

The song never gets old. Neither do they. Their sound is amazing.
Absolutely true…they are old but still in the tune…
My mom loves this song
The only better song is same but alive from 101 tour 😁
not the same without Alan wilder
@@rati_108 yah their newer albums can’t compare to when Alan Wilder was with the band
I grew up with Depeche Mode cause of my dad, always playing it. So when I heard this song at the end of the last of us episode 1, I cried 😭
Rip pops, ❤️
saameee, that hit so so so hard
nice version😉👍
@Roman Kore How do you know if he is faking this story? What if his dad really did die? Asshole
Listen to them all the time, throwing this song into the show was pretty cool.
You obviously had a very cool dad... sorry for your loss
This song on car trips is great, long live the 80s!!!!
A song that openly deals with drug addictions, with an unusual musical crescendo. Musical work of art that should be named a world heritage site
I was in a department store in the record section in 1987 when this song played and my ears fell off. It was the sounds of a galaxy far, far away. This song never gets old.
my ears fell off... well, there you Van Gogh
Nice description :-) As if I was there.
too good, too ahead of time, it feels timeless
Sure, mam!
Totally and absolutely agree.
I was a young boy when I heard this song and now I still playing a lot..
One of my favorite songs from Depeche Mode. When it played in the ending from the first episode in The Last of Us. I instantly felt nostalgia.
Such a good song, but couldn't make it that far into the episode. Does it get good?
Bill Russell 🤡
Depeche Mode is the best thing i discovered last year
I still get chills from how amazing this song is
I'm taking a ride
With my best friend
I hope he never lets me down again
He knows where he's taking me
Taking me where I want to be
I'm taking a ride
With my best friend
We're flying high
We're watching the world pass us by
Never want to come down
Never want to put my feet back down
On the ground
I'm taking a ride
With my best friend
I hope he never lets me down again
Promises me I'm safe as houses
As long as I remember who's wearing the trousers
I hope he never lets me down again
Never let me down
See the stars, they're shining bright
Everything's alright tonight
Thanks for that you are awesome.
Is he talking to God?

My mom introduced me to Depeche Mode when I was very very young and this song always gave me chills. It still does.

Same with my mother, most of the old music i love is because of my mother, oh thank you mom for the gift of life and music .
It’s my favourite. Being lucky enough to hear it live in June was honestly the best moment of my life
I'm revisiting this after seeing them live in December. Truly a masterpiece...

Depeche Mode for life.
Time flys. Crazy to read your comment - 20s to 60s in a snap. I love this song.
👏
They know where they're taking me, taking me where I want to be.
Exactly!
I am 74 and I lived through DM without listening to them. Well what a better time to find them! uplifting song that rocks and taps my toes!!!
these voices!!!
Timeless songs, I feel bad when I listen to today's music
33 years later, if you're watching this, you're a legend.
Damn Straight
literaly just discovered them because of the last episode of sense8 where they played "I feel you" in that episode
Their lyrics or riffs just pop up in my mind every once in a while and then I’m like daaaaaaam that’s what they meant I didn’t understand 30 years ago hahahaha
Then I am a legend 😊
I'm a legend every day.
Being a big fan of Depeche Mode for over three decades, I was so happy to hear that song in The Last of Us. It is a perfect blend
Saw Depeche Mode in Glasgow in January, they sang this during the encore, was amazing!!
I saw Depeche Mode in Concert & They played this one !!
Of course they did! And every time it's a highlight of the concert, isn't it?
La escuchaste al final del capitulo, la reconociste y se te erizó la piel.
Shit bout made me turn into a clicker..
problemas dije enseguida
casi me vuelvo un chasqueador del hype
Claro que sí! Me sorprendió totalmente y la piel erizada ! Depeche Mode, mi Gran grupo desde mis 11 años.
De paso tambien me transportó a "Dicen" de OBK!!
Last of Us and Depeche Mode... what a beautiful combination... perfection... there can't be any better song for the end of the first episode of Last of Us than this is... both are so good...
😁
That's EXACTLY when they became a serious rock 'n' roll band. Respect to Mr. Bascombe for engineering those massive drums and wonderful cinematic reverbs. My all-time favorite Depeche Mode LP.
This song is not just a song, its a feeling
What a great song, I love it! I put it into my "Shellshocked Radio - Recommendations" List: th-cam.com/video/0c_dXms6GtQ/w-d-xo.html Very well done!

This song seems to be about anxiety or agoraphobia, counter striked by the help of a friend or .. medication..

Agreed. I have been having troubles at work lately, and this song has been running through my head a lot during that time.
i really love how this comment section isnt people gatekeeping 80s music because it got popular from a show but a ton of people welcoming new fans and talking about how they love the song
I get goosebumps when I hear these classics because it still feels like yesterday not decades ago.
exactly how it should be! art is what connects us.
It's because we will fade away. Many of lust lost loved ones that used to enjoy similar songs with and we want future generations to have access to this kind of stuff. It was ahead of its time when it first came out and it still sounds fresh today.
Shouldn’t matter how or when you discovered the songs, just that you enjoy them. 😊 Love Depeche Mode, they have a new album dropping next month too!
Fr. Always thought it was weird that people had to feel superior over knowing something first and gatekeeping songs. So happy this is a positive comment section.
Ya me gustaba Depeche mode y los reconocí al instante en lo créditos de the last of us 😬🖤

2:49 - the Original 2 second shot that gave us arms swaying every single time this song is played live!
A masterpiece that truly captures the sound of the 80s, proto industrial, and goth rock.
ya habia escuchado a Depeche Mode , pero con la serie TLOU , fue un tremendo cierre de primer capitulo , totalmente expectacular , mucha intriga y con ganas de mas
Bro when they played this at the end of the episode one I lost my shit, such a dope ass endind.
