- Fjordur is launching on all platforms at 10 AM Pacific on June 12th 2022! Explore a cold and hostile Norse-inspired archipelago in ARK's newest official community map, featuring four new creatures for you to collect! Fjordur contains over 140 square kilometers of new biomes, new challenges, and rewarding discoveries!
Traverse a fantastical multi-layered wonderland with a frosty Nordic theme. Four unique islands, Vardiland, Vannaland, Bolbjord and Balheimr, and the mystical realms; Jotunheim, Vanaheim, and Asgard, offer elaborate cave systems resplendent with Scandinavian ruins and vast monolithic entrances. Take a well-trodden hallowed path to pay respects at the immense and sacred world tree, Yggdrasil. Vestiges of ancient dwarven kingdoms harken to a lost era, the remnants of which lend an awe-inspiring history to the world of Fjordur. This beautiful and mythic world invites Survivors to a deeply forested land of bygone wonder and exploration!
Fjordur is the second community map released with completely new creatures, and the second to include another creature chosen by the ARK community. Unleash a tank-like fury from atop the saddle of your Andrewsarchus, explore with the Fjordhawk, ARK's newest shoulder pet companion, travail the icy landscape accompanied by your frosty Fenrir, or drain your enemies' and foes' lifeforce with the Desmodus!

@@thederpiestturtle Nah, they said, that they wont be starting events next year manually, its gonna be automatic with fix dates, meaning they are moving on from ARK. ARK 2 is where their attention is gonna be.
Beautifully stunning trailer, though I can't help but feel it gave a very different vibe this time. Perhaps it's because Fjordur has so much to show, but the build up really felt like a climatic ending, which is very bittersweet. An incredible map to go out with, but also a bit sombre.

Wait are they ending support for Ark? Keep seeing comments about "the ending", but unsure what that means. I dont really follow updates or news stuff about the game, havent played in awhile either so apologies for a possible dumb question.
@@ladysyberia7419 they’re not ending just yet, seeing as there’s still an unreleased dino that they’re planning on releasing (the carcharodonto) but the game is nearing the end of its life soon

This feels like the Magnum Opus of Ark built upon years of work from both Wildcard and the faithful community and I’m just glad I’m here to see it.
This is by far one of the most beautiful map in the game, the aesthetic atmosphere is just so beautiful.

That reference to the death of ragnar on vikings is so nice
they really went all out on this one, i was skeptical about getting this games years back but it’s so fun to play and experience how far the game has come, i’m very excited to see what else to come in the next dlc

This, is Fjörður. It's twelve degrees north of The Island and a few degrees south of Ragnarök. It's located solidly on the Meridian of Crateceous.
Our base, in a word? - Magnanimous! It's been here for several raids but every single wood is rebuilt!
We have exploring, hunting and we tame many dinos. The only problem are the pests. You see in most places they have trodons, therizinos...we have... WYVERNS!
Wow! I got that reference! I'm going to enjoy this map so much! (if only my ps4 would cooperate for once :[ )

I don’t think they want to go back until Ark 2 but I wouldn’t mind them going in for Fjordur
If they play Ark, it will be them vs Simon and short small series on either Island or Center. Yes it would have been nice to see them play this map and Lost Island, but they got tired of Ark before Crystal Isles. And were never good enough to play maps like the Island, Abb and Gen1. Ark has a lot to offer, which they will never experience, but honestly, they don't care.
Since they stated cheating and just spawned everything thing hey needed and used overpowerd drops they got bored of the game

Damn you know a map is gonna be good when just the trailer has you so excited. If this really is the last free map then I think they’re really going out with a banger. Side note, the andrewsarchus looks incredible, I can’t wait to tame one! I’ve wanted it in the game for years now, I was even planning on submitting it for the Fjordur vote before I found out it was the already selected creature. Would have hoped that they’d add more creatures for what might be the last map, things like the giant bison, moa, haast eagle or deinocheirus would have been fitting here but I’m happy with what we’re getting, which already seems like a lot.
Can't wait to make some awesome Viking builds on this beautiful map!
This have been in my top 3 or 5 games of all times. So much joy out of one game. I have around 2k hours played in this game and only 500 hours of that was on real servers. The rest is just single player, and for a game to be able to do that, it's a lot. I really hope Ark 2 to be really exceptionally good and that it won't ask for a nasa pc in the recommended requirements. Long Live The Ark!

@@businessmanminilla it's the last DLC map of ark 1. We are still getting at LEAST one more dinosaur later on(carchar). Then ark 2 is the next step along with any other update in the meantime for ark 1.
We all need to thank Nils, for this Map. Hes from germany and he was working 4 years for it. And finaly, he did it with his friends and community, which believed in him!
This is by far the best map Ark has ever had. Hope they have not made any bad changes with the Official Release.

This trailer brings me back to the days where metal was the most advanced tier in Ark. Honestly always preferred the primitive / primal side of Ark instead of the futuristic theme it ended up going for with Tek

Totally agree. Also prefered the dinosaur focus in early stages instead of the fantasy/mythical creatures now.
@@xShikari thats exactly how I am to. If i was fairly new to to the game this would by super awesome. But i just cant get over the fact that its less about "regular" dinosaurs and primitive survival than it is about mythological creatures etc.
The thing is, they went with that from the start. I mean, those three obelisks alone showed from the beginning that this won't be a completely primal game. I really like the story of the game until genesis cause I really didn't care about the game anymore from that point on. BUT (at least on pc) you can make the game the way you want it to be played with mods and just ignore the tek stuff.

I love how you guys are giving mod creators a chance to be recognized. Turning their mod maps into full blown Dlc's for such an amazing game just makes me happy. I sure hope it's the same for when Ark 2 comes out, and maybe Ark 3 if we get that far

Jotunheim is INSANELY cold. Unless they changed it from the fanmade map, you need full ascendant fur and an otter to not freeze to death fast

As someone that has been in the Ark community, owned a server for 3 years, and knows what goes on in the background via modders and developers. I feel really sorry for Nek for allowing Wildcard to take his map. The map will never get updates or fixes just like Crystal Isles and Valguero. They'll sort out some stuff for like a month and forget it. They are going to steal his ideas and make them theirs just like the feather raptor from Valguero.
Fjordur is one of my favorite maps hands down! I hope they fixed all the caves and mid left most island spawn containers.
It's the endgame now, cap lifted the hammer, the argie has flown the coop and meka tek iron man has snapped his fingers aggressively at the purple waiter and the curtain call leads to a standing ovation

This trailer is just the same as the Ragnarok trailer. Ah, yeah. You're repeating the viking theme yet again as if the game needed it again. And what's the deal with fernirs? They are just an ugly managarm rip-off. You should have added more creatures from the voting like the bison and rhyniognatus, not just the bat and the totally innecessary fenrir ;)

I like how near the end it went from traditional medical battle to civilians getting gunned down by giant Tasmanian devil with mini gun on its back.
I started playing ark when fjordur came out. 8 months of pure agony, anger and joy, the most unsuspecting joy from a game that crashes at my most crucial and intense moments. I love and hate i have put more hrs on this game than any other

I live for norse mythology and the addition of fenrir made this unapologetically the best ark map of all time
