Thank You for your time and effort to make this great video! It’s going to make more easy to service the front suspension of my Montesa. Greetings from Guatemala, Central America.

hiya! thanx for the good video. Allow me 1 comment. before you push in the brake piston in its better if u wash it first with water+detergent then push it out a bit more repeat process, clean the piston all thoroughly so no dirt is left on it at all , dry it, apply some silicone spray and then push back it in. If you push it back just like this u risk of introducing dirt under the rubber seal, and maybe rendering ur brake useless :(

Hello everybody, I think, that upper bushing is always damaged by "jerking" the slide pipe from Alu housing out by lower bushing... Question is(this only applies, if there is no leaking on seal...), if the upper bushings needs to be changed by every oil change - it means, you put the inner parts out, except of slide pipe, cleans inside with oil or some solvent and then again assembly. Will it be enough clean in upper area? In my case after ca. 100 hours, there was no leaking, so I would cange oil only...(damping oil looks ok, but spring oil looks much worse). Good luck, Brambo

I have to ask you as you are the only person I've seen with a Repsol Honda and a Montesa trails bike. Is there any difference at all in the bikes, do they sound different etc it's important as l am looking at both. Thanks for the video always insightful.

      Hi
Montesa has at least four to five different bikes. 260 Repsol and 300 RR are bikes that I own. You can buy Silver model that is the entry level Montesa then you have 4RT red colour this bikes were available till 2018 I think. Those two entry level bikes have Honda suspension front/rear but seems that engine is the same with out fence carbon parts. Repsol has both Showa suspension (rear and front) and some nice adds with carbon fibre- also clutches some minor add with different ratio of clutch plates. Those three bikes have 260cc cylinder. My 300RR has bigger cylinder 290cc and front fork is aluminum Tech (majority of top line bikes have TECH suspension that are extremely similar to Showa). #00 RR has Showa suspension- I really like this one. It seems like 300 RR has a little bit more power, from suspension feels slightly lighter and maybe a little bit faster. The difference between Repsol and 300 RR are colour :), Repsol has more carbonfiber adds on, front suspension (I like both), power is a little bit better on 300RR. Montesa 301 Repsol and RR - I read that they have component in the engine that will decrease engine breaking when you shoot off throttle- I presume except plastics engine will be the same. I love both bikes: Repsol and 300RR. You can't go wrong with any of them. I can't comment on red and silver Montesa except that both bikes have Honda suspension that is softer and bikes cost overall less. I would love to try 301 RR and Repsol

Hi. Very nicke Video. I would linke Tür reduce damping as much as possible for easier hopping. Do you know in wich direction i have to turn damping screw (fork and rear damper) .? B.r. Thomas

Truth to be told I am not the suspension expert but I can tell you what I did to make my suspension better: because I am above 85kg I put heavier spring for rear and front suspension- front from Jitsie and rear is Showa heavy spring. I set my rear springs in a way that is not allowing my rear tire to touch a rear fender with full compression. I also set my rear Showa suspension on four clicks with a top knob. I haven't touch my front adjustment. I think the best way to find desire result is to slowly adjust preceding and dumping and check what works better for you. Other option is to find someone who is an expert in suspension and ask for help. Jordi Pascuet told me that in Spain they have some guru who charges 800 euros for setting up suspension for pro-riders. I wouldn't be surprise if this price is higher.

@@mototrialsgroupalberta2053 thank you for your input. in standard manuals (e.g. yamaha) they say for instance. "turn scew total inside and than turn out 12 click for standard factory adjustment. maximum 20 clicks for low daming..." than i know the wright turning direction for me. wiithout this information i can just do "try and error" and i hate that because it never works

Hi guys, it should be always like "X turns from fully in" So, You turns screws(doesn't matter, if it is compression damping, rebound damping or spring preload) and then turns X turns again back... and put this value down for later check...

hello how much oil does a 4rt mounting fork take. what quantity does it take for a fork. Thank you

please check manual, I took all information from theirs manual book for ml. Tech front for has a different way of measuring oil level, with ruler an mm. I have seen a good picture somewhere on the internet.

Dziekuje barszo !😁. I'm working on the left fork of a beta and I can't seem to remove the top tube even after removing the retaining ring underneath the dust seal. I have clamped the telescoping piece back into the triple clamps and still no luck after aggressively pulling down. Any thoughts

@@goprohero1 Please do not buy this bushing for your tech fork. I mentioned that Tech is very similar but Harley Davidson bussing only fits Showa. I tried to put Honda/Harley bushing to Tech and it was too tight. Sorry for misunderstanding.

Okay I just bought them and they look identical in size. I did notice the Harley one has a coating that is more copper looking. I thought I heard you say you used them on your gas gas tech forks?
