I've watched your videos since 2012 on blacktail hunting and I have learned more from you than just about anybody. Much appreciated and I owe quite a few big blacktail bucks on the wall to you.
Dang man I’ve been watching your videos for years it would be awesome to chat with you sometime, I’m having a hard time finding mature black tails ! And I live in the 3rd biggest reservation in Washington state called Quinault Indian Nation, looks just like the land you hunt up north. Any way would love to hear from you have a great holiday my friend
MNwild14 he does have a video where he empties out his pack after a 3 week hunt, or titled something very similar. He goes through everything he carries along with him. It's A LOT!!! Steve must have a seriously strong back! It was a huge pack and he had just about everything except an old pot belly stove in that thing lol. Bob
I love your videos so educational! I live in the states and would love to go on a black tail hunt. Where would be the best location to plan for an amazing hunt for these beautiful deer?
Steve, you'll probably not ever see this question, or have the time to reply to it, but just in case, I was wondering what caliber you're carrying while you are out scouting. I realize you're not out hunting deer at the moment, just trying to pattern them, but the possibility of running into a grizzly or a hungry pack of wolves etc, what caliber are you packing along with you while scouting the blacktail? Bob
When I lived and hunted them in southeast alaska, the season would go from august to december. August/September I would get up above tree line in the alpine, that's where they would be. October the bucks are rutting and getting stupid, easy to hunt. After that the snow would start pushing them down toward the beaches.
Foreverdrift, hunted for many years in E. OR. It's been my experience that whitetail dear like be lower down in more flatland country. Here they are a lot like hunting pheasants.
@@judithbeers7598 Thanks Judith! Unfortunately covid has bumped my plans to go hunting until at least next year, but when the time comes, I'll keep your advice in mind. We have a lot of whitetail here (East coast Canada). Good luck this season!
I 'just' emailed the techies 3 min ago to see when we can expect them ! Its frustrating not being able to load the new ones ourselves and being held 'hostage' in the busy tech industry. Hopefully we can load them ourselves soon ! I'm guessing any day now ! ( there will be more coming as well).
I’ve seen more big bucks at the edge of town, out in the hills around the wealth hobby ranch’s, than in the deep forest. Uneducated ranch pets I guess. Not saying they don’t exist in the big mountains, but it’s easier to see big antlers roaming the wealthy neighborhoods. No pun intended.
@@TonaldDrump686 , sounds like you need to go way deep and high up, you'll find monster deer. Steve, is tling you exactly how to get into the monster bucks.

Hunter says to the rich guy, hey seen any big bucks around here... Rich guy pulls out $100 bills. Lol
Mannnnn, fuck that, I aint into no surprise grizzly encounters.
Step 1,make sure its not already someone elses spot.Dont cruise the roads looking for vehicles parked at a trailhead to find "your new" spot
