They have said they argue like anyone else, but they have been together so long, they have learned to respect each other’s differences and preferences so they don’t have big problems. They are closer than family. In fact, recently ALL 13 members re-signed a new contract with their company (Pledis) and they were so sure about staying together, they did it a year early! It’s incredibly rare for a group to keep all original members and then all re-sign, at the same company, without losing any or having any member changes.
Because they are self-producing, they have had pretty much total creative freedom to explore a large variety of genres of music and dance so if you dig deeper into their discography, you’ll be surprised at their music. Woozi (their main composer/writer/producer) has songs influenced by rock, future base, bossa nova, jazz, musical theater, techno pop, pop punk, hip hop, etc. They have a song for every mood! And through them all, you will find Woozi’s style…all their songs sound distinctly SEVENTEEN. I’d love to see you guys do full album listening parties for Seventeen. I’d use Seventeenlyrics (YT channel) for lyrics videos since they have been around longest and Carats trust them most for translations. Their lyrics are great.
You should definitely check out their Dingo Killing Voice to get a feel of their raw vocals and personalities. It is a good introduction to a lot of their songs. They did the Dingo Killing Voice all in one take! It is super impressive!

Seventeen's "Clap" is supposed to be all about how Seventeen are a self-produced group, so in the MV they are showing how they create everything themselves. In the MV it shows them creating the sets and holding meetings to discuss the production, and editing the video, etc. The lyrics are about how they hope people clap for them and they want to receive a lot of applause, etc. because they put a lot of effort into everything they do. Pretty much everything you see in the MV is a reference to something from a previous MV or something to do with Seventeen. So, if you really get to know Seventeen, you will start to see how this MV connects to their other MVs. As one of the Kpop industry's only self-produced idol groups, this means that the members are the ones that create everything themselves, with help and advice from Pledis Entertainment's choreographers, songwriters and rap producers when needed. But everything is pretty much created by the members and the professionals are only consulted or asked to assist to bounce ideas off of and to finetune things, etc. So, "Clap" was wrote by Woozi, who is the leader of the vocal unit, with help from the rest of the vocal unit -- Jeonghan, Joshua, DK, and Seungkwan. Hoshi, who is the leader of the performance unit (dancers), creates the group's choreography along with input from the other members of the performance unit -- The8, Jun and Dino. And S.Coups, who is the leader of Seventeen and the leader of the hip-hop unit, writes the rap sections with help from the other members of the hip-hop unit -- Wonwoo, Mingyu, and Vernon. Seventeen's name comes from the fact that they have 13 members + 3 sub-units (Vocal unit, performance unit and hip-hop unit) + they come together as 1 group = 17. Their fandom name is Carats -- like Seventeen carat diamonds. 💍And their symbol is a diamond. To find 13 young men, who really didn't know each other before becoming a group, that are so multi-talented is impressive. And the fact that they are constantly able to come up with hit after hit and maintain one of the top spots in the industry all on their own, makes them even more mind blowing. If you really want to see what makes Seventeen so impressive, you should check out their dance practice videos. They are known for their hyper synchronization and crazy dance skills.
