... I was a Gaff-Lad in 1987/88/89... J.W JAMESON DODGEM... First Gaff was 'Mytholomroyd' near Halifax West Yorkshire and we Finished in Scarborough ( with the Dodgem )... The Very Last Gaff was Hull Fair, I Clodded ( collect Money ) on Charlie Jameson's Waltzer... My Glory Days... I'm 57 now.. " OH WOE IS ME " 😂😂😂😂😂
.... I remember Allen Jones who Had 3-4 Hooplah Joints and I think his N°1 Lad was Called 'Chatty Pete'... Met him at the MORLEY GAFF 1988.... James Finney JR was maybe 12/13 year old, a Snazzy Arcade.. Charlie Church had the Heaviest ( so legend went ) Dodgem... Where Other Dodgem's had Aluminium, Church's Had Heavy Steel....🎉🎉🎉
.... Who remembers the "NIGHT ATTACK"... Whitby Regatta 1989... Antony Shaw Ran That Gaff... Harrogate Stray... No Machines could Pull Off if the Ground wasn't Dry... Silsden West Yorkshire we were Down to the Axles, putting 8 by 4 Ply boards down. Running from the back to the Front of the Foden Plate Lorry... Then back at the Yard all the Ply Boards had to be Cleaned Off ready for the next time... It wasn't all bright Lights and Girlies.... 12-18 Hour Days 7 Days.... I Never Heard Anyone Complain... Flatty's, Skipper's.... Then The Stick's.... Greetings from Bradford West Yorkshire England... 16:58
A much younger Spencer at 6:31, a real shame he sold the machine at the end of last year. I have brilliant memories as a child when it was previously The Horror Express.
