Oh shut up take a look at the other shit that's on the market , why are General Motors trucks and cars sell for more money than anything else , got a fucking clue , I doubt it @@Revon-Feuer
If only people cared that much about fires now, they actually cared about the forest, then again they would lose their business if the woods burnt down
First thing I thought of. All that salt water! That engine will always start so long as there’s no water in the intake, but he won’t be able to “drive off” if the drivetrain rusts off. But GM loves this irresponsible behavior. Back then, trucks were workhorses. Not some expensive luxury family vehicle like they are today. They want the American worker to buy a new truck every year or so. They still do. Only all that undercoating and plastics allow them to last longer, so mechanically they need to fail quicker. ...just not quick enough that the consumer gives up on the brand due to reliability issues. After all, if a vehicle never rusts, and is always dependable, there is no reason for any owner to want to buy something newer, especially now that they’ve been made inferior on purpose.
I've had my '55 for 38 years! Love this film!
I've had my '55 2dr post for 48 years and my '55 Cameo Carrier for 13 years and my '56 GMC Suburban Carrier for 40 years.
I work at the GM Technical Center. Films like this make me proud to work at General Motors!
Now Chevy makes trash, what gives?
@@Revon-Feuer Actually they are far better than Ford and Ram!
@@edwardpate6128 ik, they use leather where ram and Ford use cheap plastic
Did GM ever do a similar film profiling the inline 6 engines used in GM Trucks, the 235,262, 230, 250, 292 etc?

THANK YOU SO MUCH. I LOVE MY GENUINE CHEVROLET FAMILY!!!!! SO MUCH FUN!!!!
Lived 11 years in a trailer, sort of, since "Sherman often works around the clock, seven days per week." It's a wonderful life.

When men were men and trucks were simple
Real trucks thats why they are still around
Not the first one that was exposed to the salt sea water.

He leaves his truck on the beach over night with water up to the bumper's
And that was even before advanced engine oils came into play ! whoop whoop !
If only people cared that much about fires now, they actually cared about the forest, then again they would lose their business if the woods burnt down

Ideat.
Leaves truck on beach overnight what the hell is he thinking that sounds crazy.
Today he would not have a truck in the morning
Now people used trucks to go to the mall and go to the shopping center
I can dig it!
Any thought about the rust eating the undercarriage from the salt water ?
Bob Trent? No , that's Douglas Kennedy, star of such classic fare as "The Alligator People" and "The Amazing Transparent Man".
Ah. 1955, back when smoking was safe and snow flakes didn’t exist
Haha.
I want to buy one
That beach dump truck probably rusted to dust within a year.
