@@MotorAddicts that would explain the comfort and the ease of certain jokes 🤣🤣🤣, on the page Stu, great content and you are so comfortable and a natural infront of camera mate. and you’re looking well dude
I also have a silver grey e46 m3, it is a manual car with the csl air-box (no sunroof lol). Running roughly 360bhp and to be fair I wouldn’t want any more power from it, I feel I can use all of the power all of the time.
@@Sr82. Each to their own I had a 400bhp 2wd Sierra Cosworth a number of years ago and as much as it was fun it was brutal to drive, and the snap of the turbo coming in and holding 28psi no matter the tune was a fight, straight line pulls was where it was at really overall. And on the other side my e46 m3 for me with the way the power comes in is the key and not the most powerful car but it’s drivable even on the twisty roads, a fine line if you will.
@@Sr82. thats all relative... 200hp in a 1200-1350kg car , is nice ... But 200 hp in a 1500-1700kg car is nothing. Power to weight is where it is... I have a civic coupe with a fully built k20a engine (n/a) 279 whp and it weighs in at 1.230 kg. , and it's really , really fast...
The E46 M3 needs to be high revved. Especially with the supercharger, since it peaks boost only in the upper rpm range which is the typical M3 E46 characteristic. Basically, just an M3 E46 on steroids. And still can beat a lot of modern cars on the highway. Not bad for a 20-year-old car. I also have a supercharger kit on my M3 E46 and love the extra punch.
The supercharger on that will be a centrifugal style charger which are basically a turbo but belt driven so the more you Rev it the more she boosts up unlike a roots style charger you would see on a old Mini Cooper s or say a dodge hellcat that drop off boost towards the later part of the Rev range
Fantastic video Stu !! Im not a BMW man either. Back in the day. I was a Rover 220 420 gsi turbo man !!. But my friend went on holiday to Spain and borrowed me his M3 convertible Evolution in Estroill blue.. back in those days it 😇 deansgate in Manchester with the roof down. 🤣🤣
Nice job Stu, wheels...????? Tyres, erm... tyres..!!!! Pmsl mate. Looked like it could get-up the road sharpish though with nearly 600 brake..!!!! Alex.
Haha! Couldn't stop laughing watching this video! Thought I'd check out your channel after meeting you today, Stu. Really enjoyed the day's filming at Blyton and can't wait to see the footage! 👍
It was on bronze rota grids not volks. I think the person who bought the car before this lass. He ripped out the grey bucket seast and also ripped out a standard e46 passenger seat. The car is heavily detailed on m3 cutters and not in a positive way. However looks like it's been cleaned up?
Is that one of those turbo like superchargers as you say the torque don't kick in proper until 4-5000rpm? Cause your normal type (is it Roots?) give boost from tickover to redline, they call it displacement(?) as it just makes the engine feel like it's 50% bigger (with 50% more power) But the newer certain type superchargers are more like a turbo with you having to wait for it to spin up (it even has the snail look)
It is Roots that kick in straight off but aren't very efficient, twin screw that are similar but more efficient and centrifugal supercharger that are turbo snail type efficient but not much low down.
Vic, what a legend of girl! Owns a car for less than a week and lets you guys take it out lol...... full respect
I know right
I'm a woman who also drives an E46, but it's a 2000 323i sedan that is 450hp using a ESS twin screw supercharger.
Niceeee, I have a 2000 330i saloon, what stage is yours? And what hp would I be looking at with your charger?

Someone finally bought it then? This was making the rounds on the M3 forums and owners clubs

Hydraulic handbrakes are needed for long term reliability in E46’s. Or constant adjustment 😅.
