As I'm 46 I appreciate the old school cars alot more than the new ones it's all about the sound and memories so cheers lads for bringing this Badboy to us this is why I love the channel 👍

That's been really tastefully done tbf. These days everyone's too quick to stick a turbo on everything, but you can't beat the sound from bodies or carbs with a spicy cam and other bits. The thing with a car of that power level is you can use all of it, nearly all of the time, just plant it mid corner and not have to worry about ending up in a hedge 🤣

    • @MotorAddicts

Lovely. From a time when 100 felt properly fast. Those old Vauxhalls always had long gears and torquey engines that revved.

Took many of them in my younger days, had a few great chases in them too, Strathclyde traffic division could verify that lol.
Thankfully I was fully rehabilitated back into society and other peoples cars are no longer at risk.
    Cheers again gents.

Yeah, I think the old cars have gotta be used to be appreciated and I'm sure the lads are on board with that thinking👍 Basically, enjoy the car for what it is - a surviving machine from a different time. My old motor is from 1990, pretty tatty externally, looks OK from afar but under the bonnet is clean and tidy, interior is nice enough and the car is running sweet. It's a pleasure to use which I think is the whole point of these oldies. I had thought about paintwork but it might make me too precious or anxious to use it! Besides, it's not for show but to be driven and enjoyed.

Brilliant car..Some years ago, 92ish, lunch time borrowed a friends Astra Gte 8v, while giving it a blast my passenger decided to start playing with the sunroof, then while driving down a dual carriage way..RELEASE.. I see the sunroof in my rear view mirror flying.. Oops!! Hhad to explain that one when handing back the keys. Im 51 and luv my veedubs, old skool and anything retro and nostalgic..Ya vids are so good..highly Entertaining and on point.. Keep up the great Work lads.

I had a 1.8 GTE and then an original GTE 16v (Coscast head) They WOULD go round corners, they just took some getting used to. I suppose my numerous years driving the GTE I learnt how to get it to dance pretty good. Lift off oversteering round roundabouts etc.

Brilliant! Cars from this period are gold. Nice to see the old car still putting smiles on faces & sparking old memories. A lot resonated here with me.
"We are those old men now" - yep, 42 here but f*ck it.
Going for those crack-of-dawn drives - I do that. Thought I might be going mad. Maybe, but glad I'm not alone!
I have a 1990 Audi 90 20v. Had it 21 years, just got it back on the road. No rocketship but sounds great (2.3L 20v NA straight 5). Standard it's 170 hp, 1200kg, 5 speed manual, 7k red line, over 100mph in 3rd... apparently! Good for a bit of fun. It's nice to drive something old, simple and unusual. What irks me a bit though is how bonkers old car prices have got, and there's no consistency. The Audi might be worth 2k, but an Astra GTE 8v is 8k? I remember a mate buying Minis in the mid 90s from Trade-It at £50 a pop to drive around their family farm for fun!

LOVE IT......... that motor is immaculate. I had a old 'B' reg Astra was a 1.6 followed by a few letters that can't remember. Loved it man
Spent abit of money on her. I was about 22 23 years old. Put a 4 branch manifold on her. 3inch straight tho to a 3.5 inch back box. Kn filter. Better Ht leads and plugs. Bought second hand GTE body kit. Car was black. Got car and kit resprayed black. Rubbed it down and prepared it myself. Was the bees knees when it was done. Bought a set of alloys
Of a mate. Came of a Renault 19 if my memory is correct. Fitted straight on. Long time ago. Also owned a nova 1.4 SRi. It had twin 40 webbers on it. Holy shit man. That was fcuking quick.was an old H reg.had a cherry bomb 4 inch exhaust. Could her me 1.5 miles away before you ever saw me. Lol lol. Great times. Had 17inc alloys on it. Think they were 4 or 5 spoke TWS. LOL. Love the one in your vlog. I would buy it in an instant. Lol its worth as much as my 16 plate focus diesel sport. Lol crazy ain't it.
